Tesco's New Coupon Policy- Don't pay a penny!

I'm sulking a bit today! I was so excited with this new policy, I went in, armed with 12 coupons to split over 2 shops and picked my usually scan happy SA only to be told (once she caught view of the vouchers) that a colleague had got into trouble for accepting too many so it's going to have to be what you've purchased only. So I put most away (was only purchasing 2 products)
Still managed to slip a colgate ones off colgate smilies though, at least.
Hope it's just a one off, am going back to asking first."I did then, what I knew then. And when I knew better, I did better"0 -
It's like everything else in Tescos, some of the checkout operators make up the rules as they go along you would think the money was coming out of their pockets
I have worked for Tescos on the checkouts for 15 years and I take any coupon/voucher as long as it scans because if you weren't meant to take it, it wouldn't scan would it.
I work in the West of Scotland.

My usual SA was fine taking them yesterday! So just goes to show. Just ask before hand, saves the possible embarrassment"I did then, what I knew then. And when I knew better, I did better"0

Just got back from Tescos , after handing over a pile of coupons , the guy called over to the next cashier asking how many he could take . She replied no limit now but only one of each if you have not purchased the item.:beer:Never pay more than you have too0

Have today been totally humiliated at Tesco(Irlam M/C). We are pretty skint at the mo whilst awaiting VERY delayed exam payments. Did my (careful) shopping and armed with various vouchers worked out that I could get everything I needed. Get to till decided to split the shopping into 2 batches just in case. So give 2 coupons 65p and 40p.She refuses them. I tell her the policy. She refuses them(There was no one behind me thank God) I tell her I am sure htat Tescos WILL take coupons. She shouts over to next till girl on checkout who agrees with her. So I get some of the other shopping but had to leave about 4 items(that I WOULD have been able to afford if they had taken the coupons) I wanted the ground to swallow me. Total humiliation. Just out of interest I called them when I got home and was told that they do not accept ANY coupons unless you buy the item.So Tesco Irlam is best to avoid unless you like VERY red faces!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Blind as you run...aware you were staring at the sun.
And when no hope was left inside on that starry starry night.

just dust yourself down anniestar and try again! At least there wasn't a big queue behind you. I spent £16 today and gave the young assistant as many coupons as i dared. I asked him if he would try these for me. He said that they had just hjad some training on it which he thought was pointless. He said why don't they keep it simple, if it scans then accept it if it doesn't try another! I could have kissed him!Cross Stitch Challenge Member ?Number 2013 challenge = to complete rest of millenium sampler.0
