The self scan tills in my local beep if you scan vouchers it doesn't like and you have to wait for an SA to come over and enter their code to continue with your shop. If there's a queue behind you its more embarassing than simply being refused at a manned till.
Woooaaah thats not happened to me yet - now I'm scared to go thru those tills too! (runs and hides!!!):eek:I'm a nutter :j0 -
Self Scan machines vary in different stores, the ones in my local accept upto 30% of your total shop in vouchers before beeping, they only beep for authorisation after that amount, so I tend to stay under the 30% threshold to save embarrassment.
Altho when I have used more and it's beeped for authorisation the self scan assistant has always authorised them and never questioned it. I just play dumb (easy!) and they are always v helpful.

I was slyly shown a letter by the tesco checkout girl saying that they do take internet printed coupons but not copies, only manufacturers ones,Think she only showed me because she wasnt sure what it meant..To tell you the truth I'm not too sure how to interpret that one also.
I know coupon net ones etc are manufacturers ones but what about the daily mail printed one? What would that be classed as?
Until now I had no trouble using it. (Well not a lot lol)
Can anyone shed some light on it?0 -
Can you use coupons for an online grocery shop? I'm assumming that if they've got a barcode, the driver can redeem them, is this right?November wins...a book, a designer handbag (worth £550 :T) and a game. I am now an addict and thank everyone for taking the time to share and post.0

Just found this on Tesco.com Not too sure but I'm guessing that this means the £2.00 off a £20 shop,£3.00 off a £30 shop etc.
We are currently accepting coupons for Sainsbury's and Safeway both in our stores and for on-line Grocery transactions. Just hand your coupons to your driver when your groceries are delivered. We'll credit your payment card back at the store and send you a receipt in the post. If you are in-store, just hand these to the cashier.- We can only accept Sainsbury's or Safeway branded coupons for money off your total transaction.
- We cannot accept coupons valid only for specific products or departments.
- We can only accept up to £15 worth of coupons for one delivery.
- You must have met any requirements on the coupon, such as a minimum spend.
- We can only accept them against grocery deliveries. We cannot accept them for deliveries from our warehouses.
- We may refuse to accept coupons if they appear to be damaged, defaced, altered or copied.
- We cannot accept coupons for purchases of tobacco or infant milk formulae.
- Excludes ROI.

I have ignored till spits where product either:
a)exceeds price of normally bought alternative
b)points offered don't sufficiently offset outlay.
I'm being dim, but does policy mean I can offer ALL such spits and try to have them honoured?
Have one now for 75points if I spend £3 on junk snacks/crisps etc. which I don't buy - might it go through?
Its difficult isnit it, when you get till spits for things you dont normally buy. They usually only have a two week life span so if you want to swap them for example on PTS or the coupon swap place you have to be very quick. Plus with postage it is not worth swapping just one item, you have to have several good things to swap.
I had to get some coffee I didnt want the other week for points but I am going to swap it for coffee that I do want instead this week. This is only Ok if you have bought one item for pioints rather t6han a set ammount for points.
Trouble is our CS is horrible during the week so I have to go at weekends, by which time I often have something which needs exchanging, a clothing item that needs returning, some points to go on the card plus a few other things - a bit embarassing having to save up all the jobs up to do together!

I've got some Activa ones but I keep the rest of the page from where I cut the coupon out, in my bag so if I get asked I can get it out, with the webaddress etc on. I've never been asked though.
