    Hi.
I e-mailed Tesco's and got the reply that they are happy to take coupons so long as they are in date,That Tesco's sells the product and that you don't double up unless you buy the product. :T
Also that printed ones are taken at the managers discretion.

I now carry my copy of the e-mail with me all the time,Though it seems that they have given up pastering me lol

Would you be able to copy and paste the relevant details of this email for us to show those check out girls and boys!
November wins...a book, a designer handbag (worth £550 :T) and a game. I am now an addict and thank everyone for taking the time to share and post. :D

I have ignored till spits where product either:
a)exceeds price of normally bought alternative
b)points offered don't sufficiently offset outlay.

I'm being dim, but does policy mean I can offer ALL such spits and try to have them honoured?
Have one now for 75points if I spend £3 on junk snacks/crisps etc. which I don't buy - might it go through?

No. Till spits are specific to whatever is printed on them.
Who or what was I before you came in to my life
    I am not sure

I think its great that the cashiers have been reminded of Tesco's coupon policy but I seriously doubt it will make much difference.

To be honest, they will never make it generally known that this is a confirmed policy as to do so would lose them the people who are handing out the coupons in the first place. Why would you as a manufacturer want to redeem a coupon for Tesco when you aren't sure its been used against your own product and could have even been used against a rivals product?

Thats why in my opinion, you will never see this particular policy on a backboard at customer services. They will implement it, but it will be a hush hush thing and not something broadcast to the general population.

I have shopped in various Tesco's over the last few days as I have been trying to get rid of £100 worth of £1 vouchers I bought from Ebay that have a very short expiry date.

Most reactions have been, scan any and all coupons, regardless of multiples but this is mainly down to me picking wisely when I go to the tills.

I have also had a couple of negative experiences though with 2 different customer services reps, neither one of them were sure on their own policy and tried to make out I could only use 1 voucher for the entire shop!
I seriously think they make it up as they go along!

It could also be what I class as "shopping envy" as in, they don't see why you should get your shopping for free when they have to pay full price themselves (you will also find this in Boots chemist!)

Fingers crossed though that it will filter down the chain and make our shops a little less stressful :)

I was refused the Tropicana voucher in a large Tesco I think because it did not have a barcode. The cashier called a supervisor who went to customer services and then came back and said they were not taking part in the offer.

I emailed Tropicana to tell them that I was embarassed at what had happened and they sent me two £1.99 vouchers in the post within 2 days.

Thank you for your email.I have detailed below some information on the acceptance of coupons in our stores which I hope will help you. All Tesco specific coupons display the Tesco logo. We'll only accept these at the till if you buy the product shown on the coupon at the time. We're happy to accept a non-Tesco product coupon even if you don't buy the item. But, the coupon must be in date and the store must sell the product. If you present more than one identical coupon you need to purchase the same number of products. This also includes coupons printed from the Internet, but these will only be accepted at the discretion of the Store Manager. I hope this has helped to explain things for you.Thank you for taking the time to contact us. If you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact us at customer.service@tesco.co.uk quoting TES3763949X.Kind RegardsSiddique FayazTesco Customer Service

I am very "voucher shy".... I would hate to turn up at the tills, armed with vouchers, only to be told "sorry, we can't take these"...(and hear the cashier mumble under her breath - "scrounger!")

Sooooo, what I do, is turn up armed with vouchers, and then go thru the self scan tills. If the till doesn't take it, then I don't question it, and no-one knows. But if it does, fab

Don't know if ALL tesco's have these self scan tills - but my local one does (TELFORD). :T

The self scan tills in my local beep if you scan vouchers it doesn't like and you have to wait for an SA to come over and enter their code to continue with your shop. If there's a queue behind you its more embarassing than simply being refused at a manned till.
