Tesco's New Coupon Policy- Don't pay a penny!

While slaving away on tesco checkouts this morning we were given information on the change in policy regarding coupons. The old system was:-
* coupons cannot equal more than 20% of total shopping balance
* a customer cannot use more than 3 coupons at a time
The changes now mean that you can pay for your entire bill using coupons!
However, here are the conditions:-
* You must use all different coupons, cannot have replicas of the same product
* You cannot use coupons from other stores e.g. " somerfield award you 20p of pepsi"
* You can use money-off coupons from different store e.g. " somerfield award you £5 off a £50 shop"
* If you intend to buy a product e.g beans you can use two coupons for money off beans even if you've only bought one tin. This is the only way to use replica coupons.
So if you have a bill of £6.50 and have one coupon or a combination of lots of coupons that add up to this amount ( as long as the coupons are for different items) you can pay for your total shop in coupons!
p.s. don't forget your clubcard points too!

Sorry but i can't just type them for you to print out, i'l get the sack! im telling you this annoymously but it is the information all cashiers are receiving over this week so what you can do if unsure is just ask them to explain what the policy is and they will repeat what i have just said0

Couldn't agree more, I'm sure each store (maybe even each cashier) will have its own interpretation of the policy. I last did a big shop at Tesco 3 weeks ago, and had a terrible experience with coupons. I've been shopping at Morrisons and Lidl ever since and would only return to Tesco for my main shop if I knew my coupons would be accepted by Mr T again - hint hint Mr T

Even a clue as to a county would help!

Hi.
I e-mailed Tesco's and got the reply that they are happy to take coupons so long as they are in date,That Tesco's sells the product and that you don't double up unless you buy the product. :T
Also that printed ones are taken at the managers discretion.
I now carry my copy of the e-mail with me all the time,Though it seems that they have given up pastering me lol0 -

Thanks for this post!!INCREASE INTEREST ON SAVINGS!
...I will thank you if youve been helpful, please do the same! :j0 -
hehe im in the midlands! I wish people would stop saying " oh my tesco will be different from that" because this is a new company policy, not a store policy, each shop has to adhere to the same coupon rules. Fair enough sometimes the till will say " the customer has not bought this item" and then we can't accept the coupon but for all the other coupons we'll happily put them through whether you've bought it or not. If the cashier serving you starts being funny about your coupons just ask them to call a supervisor to double check the policy and there should be no problem. I'm only trying to help here!0
