* coupons cannot equal more than 20% of total shopping balance
* a customer cannot use more than 3 coupons at a time
The changes now mean that you can pay for your entire bill using coupons!
However, here are the conditions:-
* You must use all different coupons, cannot have replicas of the same product
* You cannot use coupons from other stores e.g. " somerfield award you 20p of pepsi"
* You can use money-off coupons from different store e.g. " somerfield award you £5 off a £50 shop"
* If you intend to buy a product e.g beans you can use two coupons for money off beans even if you've only bought one tin. This is the only way to use replica coupons.
So if you have a bill of £6.50 and have one coupon or a combination of lots of coupons that add up to this amount ( as long as the coupons are for different items) you can pay for your total shop in coupons!
p.s. don't forget your clubcard points too!
Poor student do you happen to know what it means if at the top of a till receipt it says RECALLED TRANSACTION?
I shopped at tecso as usual and when I loked at the receipt i noticed in large letters at the top recalled transaction and lots of stars. Should I be worried?
thanks for the info0 -

It just means that the transaction would have been stored due to not being able to pay at that moment, usual case is forgotton purse or card would not go through. Then when they come back the till will produce a new receipt with recalled transaction on the receipt, thats all.0 -

well I tried today, thought it best I just go for a small shop = £20 handed over £20 ish of coups, TA said I can only take 10%, I said my sister works there and they had been told that you could basically use coupons for all of your shop, TA said that the memo that came from host said that this policy would be at the stores discretion! Ah well!
You've hit the nail on the head, even when new policies are introduced certain stores still don't follow them and unless you are prepared to kick up stink with head office everytime its not going to change.0 -

I am on a very tight budget so using coupons allows me to make meets end and , occasionally, have a little treat. Anyway, last Friday I asked in CS about the coupon policy. Nice and very polite lady confirmed they DO accept coupons even if you do not buy the item. Hooray!!
A cheerful male SA accepted two MOC's plus internet coupon. When I asked if he accepted them she said "as long as the till scans...". I was delighted.
Next day, he was not there to be seen so I went to another SA. He was not sure about it. I explained that I doubled checked with CS. Called supervisor and I was sent to CS. Girl asked lady about it, coupons went through. Yesterday I was not lucky. Female SA did not want to scan them unless I bought the product. My explanations were useless and I did not want to fight so I am afraid that each SA will have a different interpretation of this new policy. I just hope I find my nice male SA again. I hope he didn ot get intro trouble because of me... do you think I was just a dream? :rotfl:0 -

Can I just ask if this is for branded coupons only i.e 20p of heinz beans and the coupon is from Heinz?
I presume it won`t work for Tesco gives you 20p of heinz beans, unless you actually buy the product.
Hope that made sense0 -
I have ignored till spits where product either:
a)exceeds price of normally bought alternative
b)points offered don't sufficiently offset outlay.
I'm being dim, but does policy mean I can offer ALL such spits and try to have them honoured?
Have one now for 75points if I spend £3 on junk snacks/crisps etc. which I don't buy - might it go through?CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:
