  • Hey lovely NOA

Sorry I haven't been around. My laptop is in two pieces so have hooked up to a screen borrowed from work until after xmas.

Hope this week goes as well as it can. Really seems like last week at work was just the therapy you needed, and the food sounds lovely! You are so right. Rude not to :p

Sending you lots of hugs and smiles. I know what you mean when you say you miss people. These forums are fab! xx

  • I have had the most amazing day today.

All week have felt very sad, and because of recent events really missing my mum and dad, who don't live locally. Desperately wanted to see them but was having to be careful with money etc plus am so behind with everything - quite a few letters sitting unopened from my bank that's not being as helpful as other creditors.

Yesterday my part time fun job sent message saying they had 5 areas had uncovered work. Looked at post codes and one was my sisters area and the other my parents - 80-100 odd miles away.
I looked up postcode similar to my parents and it was 2 miles from my parents! I replied saying I would cover the event near my parents, but by the time I replied, they said they were sorted for that - could I do a different one nearer to me. I agreed but was really quite disappointed. Then late last night they called back saying - actually could I do the one I had offered to before, that it would help them out big time. Quietly jumping for joy I agreed. So my son and I drove to my parents this morning - I then went to work for 2 hours in the afternoon, and we spent a lovely few hours with my parents before and after. We didn't tell them we were coming - just turned up! and We just got back about an hour ago.

So normally I would have been paid £33, but got bonus of £20 for doing out of area work and "helping them out" and will get mileage (£56). Spend = £15-20 in diesel, + 2 mars bars (one each for DS and me - NOT both for me!)

    The universe IS listening.

  • Your amazing luck/universe conspiring made me cry!! I LOVE it that something good happened that was perfect for you! Even more so that you got paid mileage to go and see your parents when you really needed them, and earned money in your fun job.

Trip to parents was great. Mum perked up hugely whilst we were there but then went downhill afterwards and had to cancel her op, due on Nov 5th as she had a stinking cold and shingles. SO it is rebooked for 8th December, which means she will pop down here before them for a 'Christmas' trip. Silver linings. Spent way too much money, had 2 lovely meals out, saw my best friend who is due her first baby on Christmas Eve.

Other news is tax credits want £257.40 back from me for pre Him leaving in December 2013 so am paying back in installments x4. Consider yourself thoroughly caught up, the rest is just waffle, and if you have seen the pics then you've missed nothing interesting!! :D Thanks for the Jelly compliments. She melts my heart daily!

    Sleep tight! xx

Posts like this make the aching go away Granny and a warm sort of fuzzy feeling replaces it. I never really knew either of my Grandmas when I was wee, but if I had known them I would have loved them to be just like you xx

Morning All. Hope you have all had a lovely weekend.
It is lovely and sunny here. Temptation is to potter outside but I have decided that Today is about getting back in control. Then I will treat myself to a couple of hours of reading diaries tonight :)

Am home alone so am going to keep busy, and get boring this done so when DD home later this week we can have time to do things together doing nice things either side of Friday.

Here goes..To Do List. This page is the Universe so I am putting it out there, and it will be done.

    1. Write up quotes/send to 2 clients.
    2. Send invoices (2 clients)
    3. Companies house return for dormant company..................3/10 DONE :)

    4. New Direct debit to fill out for NI for DH and Me
    5. Email to weekend's event to ask for photos for website
    6. Set up online account on behalf of parents to reduce their fuel bill - they are being ripped off on standard tariff (took readings when I was there on Saturday).
    7. Complete paperwork for temp cover last week (only just received it but pay has gone up from 9.4o something to £9.65:))
    8. Update voluntary work spreadsheet (sales data to enter) and email summary.
    9. Clean kitchen/ floor.
    10. Then Eat Mars Bar.
