Well done to your daughter for passing her test NOA. I can see already how fast time flashes by.
All I can say is I take comfort in seeing that I am actually spending the only thing that matters, time. On the people I love." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Thanks Bob. And it really is the only thing that matters in the end.
So this morning, DH had offered to take in DD to work, so that I didn't have to get up, but she asked me anyway so that she could get an extra hour in bed (and me an hour less :rotfl:) and I got up and did it anyway:o
Now have a little time before I go pick up DS from his sleepover (40min each way), bringing him home with the same friend for a sleepover here!
Then hoping to leave then too it (there are pizzas in the fridge) and meet friend for lunch - I want to treat her because she's been a really good friend. Just waiting fro her reply, though so it might not happen today.
Need to do a bit more insurance hunting, to see if I can trim it down some more. Also to pay for it through TCB if possible.

hello again

Friend is not feeling too good in the heat - she gets migraines, so lunch postponed, so am still home. Quite pleased to be honest, as its 31 deg outside, and I have already spent 2.5 hours in the car today, with another hour to do (DD to pick up from work). Picked up the boys and they are dug in for the next 24 hours with food snacks and screens.
Am about to take the plunge and book a weeks break (UK).

Hand stiff from mouse clicking:(
Best insurance for DD is going to be £560ish- have been through all the comparison sites as guided by MSE site, but actually cannot now be bothered to phone the companies who don't come up in these searches, have spent some 5 hours so far....
Also searching for nice places to stay on hol - have something on hold now pending confirmation of DH holiday from work. Staying in the country to save money, but paying a bit more for a nice place to stay - heading westwards for some peace and quiet and change of scene. :T
Off to pick up DD now.
Feel like haven't done much today except search and drive.

Every now and then after a period of complacency, I have to reboot myself. DH and Me have been very on edge for the last 2-3 weeks, again. Both very tired for different reasons, and conversation has become virtually non-existent. He got cross that I hadn't confirmed the holiday last night, until I told him that I was worried about paying out the money and perhaps not getting anymore SE work (have had no new enquiries), VAT to pay in 2 weeks etc etc, and he did his usual "how did we end up like this routine" - its like he only has one recording and it replays over and over. I mean, we had the same conversations 2 years ago, and a hundred times since. It gets me down so much - spent last night first upset, then fuming, now calm and carry on so Today is Reboot Day, as I know I just have to get on with it. Sorry about the outburst. It's off my chest now! Am going to book the holiday though I don't really want to spend 7 days 24/7 in an atmosphere, and pay extra for the privilege, we could do that at home for free.
Reboot button pressed.Onwards and Upwards.:)

Beautiful sunny day outside again, DD dropped off at work, DS/fiend fast asleep after "sleepover" , garden looks wild but lush and very green and peaceful.
Enjoy you day everyone

hugs
chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

I suspect that he is chev, but he will not go and see gp, I have asked him to go get a referral to a gym too, so that he gets some exercise/advice for a few weeks, but he a stubborn old so and so, and the more I say the more stubborn he'll be about it. You can only help someone if they want to be helped. He works v hard.
I'm self managing, and am paying £70 pcm towards debts, but obviously it is a long slow process, we can't afford to pay more at the moment. All creditors have frozen interest and charges. Have only paid off 6% of unsecured debts so far. Life would be so much easier if we were hopeful together and could support each other emotionally - I get that from here and from a couple of my siblings. He doesn't get it from anywhere and doesn't "do" discussing feelings etc - big chip on his shoulder about everything at the moment. Trouble is I can't help him if he doesn't try - needs to be a two way thing, the longer it goes on the less inclined I am becoming to bother. And a while ago I made the suggestion of seeing a marriage counsellor - big mistake. Sorry, blurting out lots today. Just ignore me!:rotfl:
Hope all is OK at your end, you had to tell your siblings?

Hi NOA

I've not been on the forum much for quite a while.
Things are the other way around here. I (male) have never ever said 'how did it get like this' but it has been said to me 10 million times by Mrs. B (female.) Stubborness......where do I begin?
Our behaviour is just dictated and controlled by where we are 'at' any particular time. Because a lot of irritations at Brogden Towers have subsided, things are way better than they have been for years and I might even raise the subject of a holiday or short break which I would never have done the last four years or so.
My own problem has been routed in not accepting I was middle aged and expecting everything to be like it was when I was in my twenties
!! I have aged mentally now....I've felt it happening - sounds !!!! but it's not to me. It's like a medicine
.
It is great that you have the hols booked. Whilst we all have various issues and worries, we are best when we deal with them as we go along like household chores and live life at the same time. Mr NOA needs to know that there is no point in regret or waiting for some black cloud to disappear because we will all die one day and we will still have worries or regrets about something. It's unrealistic to think this won't be the case so the message is to live life and enjoy wherever we can.
I think I must be feeling a bit reflective today
!!

Brogden! You're back!:j:rotfl:
Hope all you projects with SE are coming to fruition and that life is treating you well (despite your advancing years
:D).
In total agreement with you on how old one feels - not any different to how I felt in my twenties - apart from the fact when I party all night I can't get up the next day, and not because of alcohol;) That's not me either, its' the other thing I'm battling with at the moment, hoping it wont prove to be as stubborn as DH;) Wish he could do a bit of reflecting like you rather than regretting and resenting - after all, it's not like he hasn't known what was happening, he just chooses not to deal with it.
At least everyone was a bit more smiley yesterday when I said I'd confirmed the booking.
Haven't told DD/DS that some of the reviews say wifi is very poor though :rotfl: oh dear what a shame.
NOA:)
