Igamogam - this is the second time he has done it too! Couldn't believe it when he texted asking how he should pay! You are right, slow and steady wind the race, but sometimes it's just SOOOOOO frustrating:mad: Electric car is the sensible way to go.
No Sun today
Boiler won't start so must have an airlock in it, so more wasted money. Tried calling someone out but the usual guy is away on holiday. Have asked local builder friend to find someone for me, I have been so cold today. Dishes are piled high in the kitchen, I have run out of dishwasher tablets! plus all the big dishes and pans from yesterday (no hot water, my hands hurt so haven't been able to boil kettles and rinse one handed etc.
Haven't been out today either, haven't had a shower (:o) but have cleared another couple of carrier bags of paper
Xx

Forgot to add, did phone call to update creditor today (couldn't be bothered with printing out letter to send), got them to remove £80 plus charges/interest, and another 3 months to review again. Not sure what they are playing at, they keep extending the time 2-3 months at a time, but haven't defaulted the account yet as I have kept up with the agreed payment of 4.90 a month?
It would have been better if they had all defaulted a year ago so that it was a year closer to falling off the credit file.

This week has got o get the prize for being the most miserable greyest coldest wettest June week ever. Couldn't find anyone to come out and start the boiler yesterday after the late afternoon oil delivery. House is so cold it's unbearable, wasn't worth putting on log fire as that's in lounge and DS and I were working in office. the little electric emergency fan heater worked overtime yesterday but didn't really help core temperatures - just enough to warm hands every now and then. Another morning of kettle boiled water in a bowl for washing - anyone would think we were in Victorian England if it wasn't for the kids walking around with phones and gadgets glued to their palms. Hopefully we'll be up and running today, and I Must go out and do the chores in town today, have put them off for two days.
Have dropped of DD at work, DS in bed still. Have been cross with everyone since last night, life's not fair type, so had a little meltdown all to myself this morning
. Now ready and raring to go again.:) Back at work on Monday so perhaps the busy-ness and structured days will help me get me on track. Feel like abandoning everyone and getting in the car and driving West in search of some elusive yellow light. Trying to think nice thoughts.

Thanks Igamogam :A - that would definitely have me :j:j:j:j Amazing how much bounce comes in a bit of brightness.
Boiler man has been :j £81 poorer for forgetting to check the oil
Water is on and should be piping hot in about 30mins. DS hasn't had a shower in two days and should come up smelling of roses, hopefully. I suspect I will be washing dishes and cleaning kitchen, washing and drying clothes on radiators for the rest of the day. I have been out and picked up prescriptions, cards, banked cheques and shuffled money between accounts in town, and nipped into £-land and bought dishwasher tablets (10 for £1), because didn't feel up to Tes*co shop by myself..... oh and a Tolberone, to cheer me up, DS and I have just had it, half each, for lunch:o

I buy those dishwasher tablets too. 10 lasts us around 2 weeks.
God so sorry to hear all your woes. None of them sound fun for you.
It has been a horrible cold week in London. Looking forward to next." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

((NOA)) DH and I are also having a 'down' week - I blame the lack of sunshine as well. Should be sunny here in Suffolk, up to 23c but risk of heavy showers this afternoon. Currently it is 10c and foggy.
Could you get an alarm for your oil tank?
I don't have one but my mum does - she has a box plugged in to a plug socket in her kitchen and when the oil level falls below the next 100litres it moves down a number. I assume the other end is in her tank.
Will go and see how much they are as even £50 would save you money in the long run.0 -
This is the kind of thing I mean - http://www.tanklocks.com/oil-watchman-alarm/
My mum's one has numbers rather than lines.
I was a bit shocked by the price but I guess if you have a call out once a year at £81 and this alarm lasts a few years then you have saved money.0 -

Its supposed to brighten up today Bob but no sign as yet....but I have hung out two loads of washing in anticipation. Quite possible I'll have to take off the line and spin dry again :rotfl:
I never think of going to £land as it is in town, and I don't really shop there - much easier with a trolley to boot in out of town supermarket. I usually have a stash as always buy when half price, but offers in T*sco not been so good recently. They are same brand but were a lot more powdery - not sure why?
Hope you had a good week with DD/DS

Hi EE:)
Thanks for taking the time to look that up - the very sad thing is we have exactly that - the one with the bars, not numbers, but it has been the most unreliable thing ever. We got one when we replaced tank 7-8 years ago, but it never was very good - eventually replaced it and the second has been as unreliable. We used to have a good old fashioned gauge on the outside of our old metal oil tank, every time I took rubbish out I would pull the button and gauge would re-level to show the level of oil in the tank. Low tech but worked perfectly. We had the tank replaced and this new fangled electronic alarm, and its never been very accurate. Went off all the time, when it was hot, when cold, when full when half full and every full moon ....and when empty too. Drove me to distraction waking up to faint random bleeping noises in the night. Thinking it was just a faulty one we replaced it about 3 years ago, same problems. Tank is quite a distance from house but still within quoted range. Have asked the boiler man and oil delivery man about it and they can't offer any suggestions. Not sure what interferes with it. Maybe we have just had two duff ones? Would never recommend to anyone as a result of our experience.
Oops sorry - that wasn't meant o be a big essay:o we have had lots of argument about new tech alarms at our house. At the end of the day its always my fault :mad:because I forget to check the level in the tank with a long stick I have marked inches on:rotfl:
Can you tell you have touched upon a sore point in this household:rotfl::rotfl:
On a lighter note I never posted a photo that I said I was going to (because life gets in the way) for you - and I get reminded that I haven't done it on a daily basis because its one of my favourite things in my house because I like them too:) . Hope you like it. Be over to yours shortly:)
