Already Tuesday and nearly half way through half term!
DS is busy revising - he's doing Ok working about 5 hours a day. Weekend went by quickly, chores and grocery shopping on Saturday, visited parents on Sunday (long day) exhausted yesterday so didn't get much done, but have emptied a couple of wardrobes and made a huge mess in spare bedrooms, hopefully to reduce/recycle a bit. Will try not to put it all back:o. A couple of carrier bags waiting by door to go to charity shop. Should really get down to some SE work today, but finding it hard to muster any enthusiasm. Won't have any visitors this week as sister didn't take me up on offer, so will be fairly quiet, DH and DD out at work.

Another £10 on T*opCacshB for purchase from B&CUe :) Total now £51 once its all validated, will save it for vouchers for Christmas pressies maybe.
Will catch up on some diaries today in between pottering:)

Not a particularly productive day today:( but just going with the flow at the moment. Did get dentist trip done for DD DS and Me, only 6 months overdue:o. DD has to start paying now, so it was £20 for the check up and apparently will be £51 for hygienist appointment  on NHS??!!! need to look into that - DH and I have a private plan (mostly for DH's benefit as he needs 3 monthly visits). Kids have been free until now but DD is now 20. Have no idea if all NHS dentistry work is fixed cost or whether it varies depending on where you go.

Just checked oil and tank is nearly empty:eek: need to put in an urgent order tomorrow - hope its not too late.

A few chores to do in town tomorrow, and am behind on admin for voluntary work too so need to get my act together, can't afford two lazy days :o

Rain eventually stopped late evening, would be nice to see a bit of sum tomorrow to shake off this dreariness.

    Nite Nite :)

Thanks Brizzle, Just a lot of work pressure at the moment, another 3-4 weeks and things should ease up a bit as I will have finished at the school by end of June.

Dropped off DD at work, left message for oil delivery, will call after 9 to ensure they deliver today - only lukewarm water this a.m. so boiler has locked out :( Just hope it starts without having to call someone out again. A chilly 11 degrees here today, and as wet and dreary as yesterday:( Don't feel like going into town for chores today, will see how I feel later today, and perhaps leave until tomorrow (banking, prescriptions, online order pickup, birthday cards).

Hava a bag full of receipts to sort out/file/discard, so might just put tv on and find some mindless daytime tv while I plod through that :)

Wishing you all a sunny June day

No problem - it can be very therapeutic, and very satisfying to see a mound of screwed up receipts building up around the bin as I miss it each time I throw one from across the room:D

A satisfying carrier bag of paper just gone into recycling bin :)

Am sitting here wondering if I really need to do the backlog of budgeting - what's gone is gone and it won't make any difference whatsoever whether I have a neat complete spreadsheet or not And other than the satisfaction of knowing what I spent where it will serve no purpose. I think our habits are pretty good and we don't spend excessively on anything that is not needed. Bills go out on time and I keep shopping bill to under £100 a week when there is 4 of us, about £80 when just 3. So think I will quickly go through receipts to pick out the ones I need for business claims and guarantees (eg mower) and call it quits. Life is too short to be too neat.

    Morning All,
It is such a Grey week :( Didn't step out of the house yesterday other than to drop off and pick up DD from work. No washing done as too wet to hang outside but will have to do some today. Oil should be arriving some time today - then I'll have to see if I can start the boiler - hope there is not too much of an airlock or it'll cost 50-70 pound to call someone out, fingers crossed, just because we forgot to check oil level (again).

Sometimes seems that there is a natural balance to life to keep you where you are. A few months ago I was happy to have reached a status quo and not be going backwards. Work has picked up considerably in the last few months but other things slide and we have had to make some big expenses to help manage things. Just started thinking of a small holiday this year, perhaps, and lovely DH fills up his car with the wrong fuel and it cost £200 to have it pumped out  as well as a small scrape on his car reversing into a short post. So a weeks work gone for nothing. Think we all need a break - everyone is so tired.

More plodding on positively today, but just wish the sun would come out!

Know how you feel regarding steps forward' steps backwards, or just standing still.............tis the way to debt freedom sadly:( Weather on your side of the country not helping. For us in the far west the sun has been out well and truly but then the down side is we have to share what we came here for with 100,000 other people we dont want to...........I know how selfish.....sorry.

I have done the whole wrong fuel thing..... twice. First time cost us £200 - £50 fill up. £100 to suck it out. £50 fill up again. Second time I realised after I had out about £15. Rang out local garage this time and as I had put petrol into diesel they said pour some engine oil in and bring it straight round.............they sucked what was left out and gave it to us in can and said just put a bit of it in tank every now and then which we did and had no problems and no charge!! Dont make that mistake now as drive an all electric car:rotfl:

Hope the sun comes out soon NOA
