    Thanks Bob:)
before it was hovering around 2% paid which didn't feel like much but some 5% plus feels a whole lot better:p

WE are drowning under SE work at the moment - have had to turn down a big job because it would have involved travel to London and we can't physically meet deadlines without DH helping out big time. Thinking about health and all work and no play etc.

another quote in progress - again timelines are really tight - spoke to client today suggesting that we pull out of quoting - but they said submit quote anyway for them to consider - they seem keen as we were recommended to them by another recent (very good) client. No work at school until Mon,so need to have a catch up on all admin stuff otherwise we really will drown in paperwork!

Finding it hard at work physically (they don't know yet) - find myself going to bed at 9.30!

Hope all well with everyone :)

You are doing so well NOAh!
I can't remember how old your sin is. Just thinking that it will all be much easier when the school fees end!

My worst sin is as old as time ;):D but my son is 15, and I'm very proud of him. Under all the teen macho is a very soft hearted little boy and he has been such an angel these past few months, I couldn't have wished for better. Thinking about it , I would do exactly the same again for them both, despite the struggle it has been. I agree life would be so easy without the fees, Isn't there a saying something along the lines of the hardest paths lead to the best views - will have to look that one up again :).....so when I get there I can look back, smile, and say "I did my best" :)

    Anyway,
have done some silly calculations over my coffee this am, and 20 months ago SC calculated it would take me over 80 years to pay off debt @ £70 /month. Have just worked out that if I pay at the same rate as I have paid in the last 20 months with the extra payments etc, its now down to ~28years. :T anyway enough time wasted this a.m. doing pointless calcs:rotfl: car is in garage to finish off rest of work needed, and I only have half a day today for work, before I have to pick up and do a few chores in town.

Plus VAT return to submit and pay today - mostly ready - just needs checking over.
Hope it's as lovely everywhere as it is here today - feels very summery :) A full weekend of gardening with DS this weekend, and he has himself asked to wash the cars for extra money :T

    Sorry NOAh. Son not sin!
No criticism intended about the school. I would do it again too given the other choices available at the time. But the last year of fees was very hard and despite helpng my dd thro' uni it felt like a real breathing space had opened up when we no longer had to pay them!
So I hope you'll find it easier too in 3? years.

I knew that you meant "son" Verbatim- just couldn't resist :D it gave me a good giggle this morning:rotfl:
Sometimes writing thoughts as they come into my head isn't the best way - I didn't mean to make the post sound as if I thought you were criticising - I didn't think that at all!! It just made me think about whether I would want it any different....
Was just feeling a bit emotional today:o DS prepares me a hot water bottle every evening without fail, and puts it in my bed - to help me "get better" :) and gets really angry when I try to lift things or move things that are heavy " I told you not to do that" he says :rotfl:

I am really looking forward to the day fees end! We have another big decision to make next year about 6th form ...... if SE work continues to go as well as the last 4 months has (made up for the 3 months of nothing before Christmas) then we'll see it through 6th form so at worst it is another 3 years. My 2 part time jobs are covering just under half the fee at the moment:)

Off to pick up car and hopefully get a phone tariff sorted - a job pushed to the bottom of th list for far too long.

I was thinking about the quote where you suggested not quoting cos of the deadlines, maybe quote with your realistic timelines and see what they say. Sometimes people THINK they want something now now now, but in reality a longer timeline might allow them to do more develop. their part of it.

Don't know if that makes sense or not

Hi Chev, Yes it does make sense :)
We have turned down the one in London because it would take 2-3 hours each way for meetings, of which there would need to be lot, so with DH in full time work with year end in July, and me committed to part time school work for next two months we just would not be able to manage. We had suggested that we could work with them in conjunction with one of our colleagues, but they didn't want that. At the moment I get exhausted so easily, and also travelling aggravates the nausea from side effects of meds :( to the point of actually throwing up - not a good image to be present to clients

The second quote we are putting in for anyway because it is local and we could manage by working evenings and weekends etc - so fingers crossed for that one, could be a chunky project if it comes off, but its part public funding so lots of hoops to jump through. Am pretty certain time lines slip frequently for that type of project - not least because local authorities can't get their act together :rotfl: to meet their own deadlines :rotfl: The last big one in our town ran over by two years:eek: and was 3x over budget. Not that this is anything like that.... but same LA!

Fingers crossed - if this and another one we sent out last week, get accepted, we'll have enough for next 6 months to cover all outgoings.....

Wow my fingers are firmly crossed for that outcome NOA. Having 6 months outgoings saved would be amazing.
