Just one of those things Brizzle.
Mum sounding cheerier than she has been for the past 10+ days, infection subsiding though tooth will have to come outWill try and persuade her to get a taxi back home (again:( refuse to give up trying!) after the extraction as she will be by herself.
Spendy spendy spendy day so far
Two tyres replaced @ £180
Music lessons paid for the term @ £190
History trip instalment @ £80
Invoices for SE @ £310
Hair cut for me @ £40:T Because I'm worth it
Can now book in car service/MOT
No Joy yet with second hand ride-on mower:(
Just had notification of Rugby Tour for next year to another continent far away estimated cost £2500:eek: DS hasn't been on any of the optional fun but very expensive trips , he's stuck to the ones under £600 that are directly related to academic curriculum. Don't think that we'll be able to put aside enough for this one though he would really like to go. Need to have a big think on possibilities. He's not sixteen until end of year so summer job might still be difficult this year. Might ask some trades people we know if they might need a spare pair of hands.
Lunch break over, try to get on with some more SE work this PM
Nearly the weekend:T

Hi NOA you may find that if your mum's dentist is worth his/her salt, they will insist that she is accompanied home. It depends on the anaesthetic that they will use. My youngest has to have 4 teeth out soon, and because he will be on IV sedation, he can't be left at all in the next 12 hours afterwards....So maybe get her to check what is needed. Maybe the taxi would be a good compromise?
Good luck

Wow that is a lot to find for a school trip....
It isInformation meeting is next week, after which a £5oo deposit will be needed. Price might come down as school will encourage pupils to try and do some fundraising to contribute. Its 19 days (Juts over two weeks plus time allowed for travelling).
Lay awake last night thinking of ways round. I asked DS if he was willing to do whatever it takes to help us get the money together and he said yes. He wont get the opportunity again as they only do the trip every 3 years. I'm great believer in opportunity and experience, and it's not one we could provide him on a family holiday. and it would be two weeks away from screens playing sport- worth it just for that:rotfl:;)

Hope so Chev, I think it should only be local anaesthetic other wise they would have told her at last apt, however she does get dizzy sometimes. I might cheat and phone the dentist to book her taxi home.
Ouch, 4 teeth in one gohope it goes well. Lots of soup to prepare for a few days.

Good morning all
Thanks Brizzle....
Had a nice evening on Saturday (didn't take meds and had a drink or two... oops. Good band so lots of dancing, but pretty shattered and achy yesterday and ears took a bashing - couldn't hear anything much until late yesterday evening
- I ended up sleeping for 4 hours during the afternoon :eek: Made me realise I'm a bit over 21 now so shouldn't be such a wild thing.:rotfl:
Lots of work to catch up on today and am going to order sit on mower on line as lovely clients paid during the week so £5K sitting in bank. This should be kept aside as a reserve for the next few months, but the garden is in dire need. I have seen one for £1600-1700 so can pay outright, and can get grass under control next weekend. I also have pretty consistent work from now until end of June at school, as well as a little pipeline of SE work for next couple of months, so it's going to be busy, which is great - just keeping fingers crossed that I can manage it physically.
Will be out at second part time job for the rest of this week. In my mind I have pretty much decided I will make the Rugby tour happen for DS, whatever it takes. He has been a star when it matters, considering he is a teen boy. While I was sleep yesterday afternoon, he cleared up and cleaned the kitchen, did his homework - no nagging involved:T
Have spent 90 mins here catching up, now need to get on with some work, so bye for now...
and have a good week, everyone.

Thanks Bob, we all of us mums (and dads) do the best we can, don't we, whether right or wrong, for better or worse, with the ultimate aim that they end up being nice people.
Ordered the sit on mower:j and........the company was listed on T*pcashback site, so £30+ should be paid in soon, and it has started tracking in my account already -becomes payable in 30 days:j
total will then be over £40 :j:j
and there was me Bob, saying I wouldn't be able to womble or keep track much- its quite a respectable total in 3 weeks:T of extra money for nothing

Brilliant NOA.so so pleased you have bought something that will make your life easier, and got TCB to boot!! Excellent work.
Agree with you with your boy and the trip. Get him doing everything he can to make say 1/3 of it? My Dd1 does babysitting etc and there is always car washing, running chores for older neighbours etc etc And maybe a 1/3 in 'pay' for doing the garden etc and then you and his dad will pay final 1/3.
Can you tell I am a fan of the rule of 3??!:rotfl:
