Thanks Brizzle :) Good idea the rule of 3 :)

Was amazed into speechlessness last night when DH came home from work and announce that he'd sold the trampoline -I had been talking to DS about selling stuff and him keeping the proceeds towards his funds for the trip!. DH was obviously dropping eaves and asked his colleague at work who has younger children and was meant to have bought one at Christmas for them - perfect timing! £50 for starters. :T

    Lawnmower arriving tomorrow, :)
Car booked in for MOT/service on Friday:eek:
    Another quote accepted :)
Might be some leeway for a cheeky little holiday this summer?

Got back from seeing parents an hour ago, and have been juggling money around. I know I should have put aside money into a savings pot for rainy days But I have decided to pay off one of my credit cards (the only one I had kept on track with minimum payments (one of the smallest balances.... it gave me comfort for unforeseen absolute emergencies.... balance this month will be zero :j:j

Nice to see you paid off a card. I s it worth keeping it open for the chance of 0% deals? I know you are on a plan for the other debt, but you could maybe get a deal and settle so e of the old debt? Or wouldn't that be a plan? I guess this money also pays for DS trip deposit.

Ouch to 900 for the car

Bag packing at supermarkets always lucrative for fundraising for school trips - school could organise it. Both my DDs have done £2k plus school trips - month long affairs and the school where very good at the fundraising side so we only had to pay deposit and then buy the 'gear' which would be in use afterwards anyway.

    Morning all and Thanks Chev/Brizzle
I am still keeping the card:) I have actually been using it and paying any extra spent on off each month so balance did not increase. I kept up with minimum payments on this even though interest was charged to keep channel open (and its not linked to any of the other creditors). I prefer to use cc for online purchases rather than debit card. last year I had six months where they reduced interest to very low, of their own accord. I will still use it for online purchases, and if they have any offers again, I will do as you suggest, although I'm not paying any interest on the other debt, so not sure it would offer any advantage, it would be just as easy to make an overpayment? I know this was cheating really, but I have been self managing (with initial advice from SC), SC would not have allowed me to keep card open:o.

I'm afraid that DS deposit for trip is yet to pay, but we have enough to do that next week, due to SE income last month.
Siton mower has been paid off in full £1800, car bill has been paid off in full (or will be end of this week when they finish off the work.
Mowe is really zippy and DS was practicing wheelies on it ...he'll love managing the lawn this summer - 2 hours a week should do it:) Rest of the time he can help me with other gardening jobs.

More mowing today, plus big grocery shop in-store this time, meal plans to sort as will be working at school for next 2 months :)

    Happy Monday

That's a great idea Igamogam, will suggest it when they have the next meeting. I do remember seeing some kids packing a few years back. Not much as been mentioned yet, but I think in the past they have held a tour dinner with an auction of promises to kick things off. I have no idea how much they have raised in the past. I will get DS to come up with a list of things he could do in the holidays. Also thinking of table tops sales of plants grown from seed? etc.
The tour kit has been included for in the price, and apparently not much spending money is needed due to exchange rate being so good, and the accommodation is mostly full or half board.
