    Hi NOA, :hello:

De-lurking to suggest some reading for self-help in tackling RA (or any other inflammatory illness):

    http://www.turmericlife.com.au/

..These days there's probably a 50% chance your GP is already aware of the amazing results possible by adding this preparation to the patient's diet. A secondary benefit is that it tends to enhance allopathic medications, so with your GP's help prescriptions could last longer, or lower strengths be sufficient (therefore cheaper: :money:).

    Good luck, happy reading. :)
    ..And back to lurkdom. ;)

    Hello Robin,
Thank you for delurking ;) and signposting to the turmeric link.
Funny thing is I have often lurked and drawn great inspiration from your flying solo diary:) (led there from others), and was sad that you have decided to stop writing. I too have given a lot a personal information here and am always quite nervous of being "discovered" by someone I know in RL. After all this time I'm still "ashamed" of the situation we find ourselves in:o

The link looks great and I'll explore further. I'm a great believer in Nature's way, haven't mentioned anything to GP yet as need to quickly get things in control, but longer term want to manage it with as few drugs as possible:). My heart sinks with e list of possible side effects of the meds I'm taking ( they include joint pain???? :rotfl: and eye problems  terryifying as my father is blind).Have looked at various diets and supplements, just trying to get a feel for what's been tried. My mum already takes turmeric in warm milk :) I haven't come across the paste though, but often use turmeric in cooking. I will look up the articles for RA/OA. Thanks so much for taking time to come out of hiding and posting - I'm really grateful:A

    Hi NOA
I am really sorry to hear about your condition. It must be so scary for you discovering it all of a sudden. You are still supermum. As soon as the meds start working you'll be able to do more again as well.

Also sorry to hear about the CB. You are right it isn't fair the way the rules work.

    Thanks Bob.
    Plodding along (literally sometimes!;))
have cut down on steps/day to 3-5K maximum for the moment, building up gradually over the next 2-3 months hopefully.

Busy weekend ahead, as popping down to parents again on Sunday (mother's day) plus to check on dad - he hasn't sounded well the last 2-3 days.

Quick pasta/sardine dish tonight that DS can help make, then trying to catch up on SE work - falling behind at the moment - still haven't quite finished the one I was going to invoice this week - client wanting some tweaks and re-tweaks as they can't make up their mind. School run now
    Have a lovely weekend all

    Good morning all,
Thank You Bob:) - it was just another normal weekend but DS gave me a lovely card saying how much they appreciate and love me, even though it might not always seem like it. He's not good at saying things (teen boy and all that), but wrote his feelings down and even signed his sisters name in it too ( she's home soon and didn't post a card - said would bring it with her saving stamp money :money: I have some clubcard T*sco vouchers for a family meal out when she gets home :)
I hope you had a lovely day with lots of cuddles from DS and DD:)

The weekend went by in a blur of work (invoice to be sent today:T, washing, driving to see parents, stocking up on their shopping, and catching up with their paperwork. Back last night, and was asleep by 10pm!

Unexpected day at home today as, work shifted by a day, will find out today if I should go in tomorrow. I it comes through, I had work from both the school and my marking job, with overlapping days, I had already committed to one a month ago, so had to decline the other, but now the supply of work is not ready - I hope I don't end up having lost both.

A couple of boring letters re debt to write, cheques to pay in for fundraising voluntary work and SE work, and shopping to do for some smart but cheap easy-wear clothes but not really in the mood for that. Oh, and filing/decluttering:(. What I really want to be doing is lopping in the garden :( because its such a beautiful day - but very cold ( we had sleet and a 10 minute snowstorm on Saturday.

    Off to be productive now.:)

How lovely of your son. He sounds a really good lad. Weekends are such a blur aren't they when you think of all that must be packed in.

Thanks Bob - I think so, though you might call me biased ;), but I often forget how good he really is, and just pick up on the things that annoy me.:o or should I say the thing that annoys me .....you guessed it, the gaming!:rotfl:

Almost on top of admin and ready to start next project. Filing has been abandoned as has housework. Another unexpected day at home tomorrow but will be working part time job weds-fri instead.

Off to bed now, my day has to start an hour earlier than before as everything taking longer, so I am trying to get to bed earlier, lights out at 10.30 latest. :o

    Sweet dreams all

It takes about 10 minutes to apply for one, and a week for it to arrive. If you apply for it today, though, and then pay for your 3 prescriptions later in the week, you can get those refunded as you'll technically have a valid PPC (just no evidence of it yet). :) I haven't tried refunding so don't know how complicated it is, but renewing the card was simple enough.

Card arrived this morning:) and I don't have to apply for a refund for the 3 I picked up a couple of days ago because the lovely pharmacist saw my confirmation of online order/payment and didn't charge me - saving her issuing receipt and me having to reclaim. I just love people who are sensible and efficient :D

Forgot to turn off the heating in office last night, and I am basking in Mediterranean climes of 26 deg. There is a thermostat but because it is underfloor heating and well insulated the temp keeps rising even after thermostat cuts in (set at 20). shouldn't need to put it on for a couple of days now. Just going to make some sangria and put a bikini  on for my day at the office:rotfl:
