Stayed awake and it was great
a brilliant trio drums/base/piano plus the sax player.
Was hoping it would inspire DS a bit, he's really good, doing Grade 8 this year, but quite shy about it all. Trouble was he got bored half way through - "it was so long". I reminded him how many "long and boring" concerts I have had to sit through over the last 16 years listening to 5 year olds plus squeaking away, occasionally in tune, :rotfl: to provide support and encouragement to my own and everyone else's DDs and DSs, and get them to a point where it is actually a pleasure to listen to
His response? I don't care if you don't want to come to the concerts. Typical teenage grump, it's because he couldn't play online all evening. I'm going to take him again next month. There's a very handsome young saxophonist playing, from Greece apparently. He looks yummy. Oops sorry, shouldn't say things like that, I'm old enough to be his mum:D

DH picking up DD, they're on way home now
Leek and potato soup ready - just needs blending and reheating. Prep was all done by DS. Just need to make some garlic bread with soft white rolls then perhaps DD can try eating a bit.
DS had his haircut this am, so ready for school on Monday.
went to bank to pay in client cheque at the same time - prompt payer so OK for March bills now, should be able to invoice another one next week.
Not much work done today though
Garden has started growing at a pace now, lots of buds, some blossom out already. Really not on top of it, and can't see it happening in next few weeks either
have a lovely w/e everyone

Hello eco farmer:) oooh a secret admirer, it's been a while since I had one of those;):rotfl:
Thank you for reading my very boring day to day thoughts, and for your good wishes, gratefully accepted and very much appreciated and sending you some back :smileyhea Sounds like you 're speaking from experience re debt and fees?
Had a quick look but can't seem to find a thread for you- you must be one of those lovely people that just posts and encourages everyone along
Am assuming that you are what your name says? I hope all the rain in certain parts of the UK has not affected you.
Sneaked on here quickly as DD and DS are still in bed asleep.
DD has lost a lot of weight, she's only eaten two cans of soup since Tuesday and can hardly speak:( She had a whole bowl of HM soup last night though, plenty left over for lunch for her. Will go shopping in a bit and buy a whole load of veggies and make 2-3 soups she can take back and freeze. Maybe some jars of babyfood?:p and possibly f*rleys rusks!
Did some detailed checks and ended up not switching electricity, as the savings were calculated based on 4 months on standard tariff when my current deal finishes. I still have 6 months on the fixed tariff at a pretty good rate and would only save about £2 a month. A lot going on at the moment so saved myself that job.

Poor DD I am so sorry. I can relate as well as I was basically starved for a week when I got sick with the appendix issue. For me I didn't eat from the Friday to the following Friday anything of substance. Couldn't keep it down. Which meant I got very weak and felt terrible. I'd recommend lots of clear fluids and then if she can bear it things like kids sized portions of cheese rolls with grated cheese or ham. I found I could eat those ok. As the issue is in her mouth I guess hot food is a no no at the minute?
I wonder about chopped up warm spaghetti in a tomato sauce too. Easy to eat tiny bits but not too hot.
My son would be just like yours I reckon. He's 7 but he rails against doing anything he doesn't absolutely have to and would quite happily live in front of the xbox if we let him. No chance matey. It's hard work providing options that are educational and interesting when you get so much push back.

Thanks for suggestions Bob, she's on the mend and moved onto slightly lumpier but still bland food now.:)
It wasn't such a problem before 13yrs, much harder now as he's no longer afraid to stay home by himself.
