  • Hi Bob,
That sounds really nasty - Glad that you are on the mend, and glad to hear DH has been such a star. I remember that my sister had a ruptured appendix, many years ago now, and it took a good while to get back to normal. Lots of rest needed so be good to yourself:)
Poor DS, he must be feeling very insecure, I know my DS at about age 5 really struggled when I had to be unexpectedly away for about 10 days. After I came back he used to panic if I was out of sight and he didn't know where I was - couldn't even go to the loo without telling him!:rotfl: DD sounds adorable:)

  • It's a beautiful spring day today, very uplifting, and there was a rainbow, first I've seen this year, so things must be on the up :)

Wish I could be pottering about in the garden today, it's been neglected sadly, but at least the birds are busy enjoying it, I can hear them and see them, nest building has started.

Looking forward to half term next week, will get DS out there helping me do what needs doing. Trying to get ahead with SE this weekend, so that we can visit my parents during the week.

    xx

Its trying to be spring here.........birds are very active but not in the mood for nest building yet......jut eating me out of house and home! I dont mind that actually as later on they will work for me and keep on top of the bugs and beasties;)

Thankyou for reminding me about curtain material...........;) a week of declutter planned here and I had forgotten I had some stashed away that I will never use so I am going to look at selling it and use cash to debt bust of course!

Very Productive day today, several hours of SE work - ready to invoice client for 2K, with the hope that it gets paid within the next 10 days, or might need to contact bank for mortgage payment to go out the week after.

Also, got NI and tax letters for DH ready to sign - to get his tax code corrected and ensure he hasn't been overcharged NI due to job changes etc, and to avoid any nasty surprises with tax underpaid again.

Cleared another stack of paper from old files, about 2 inches high. every little counts! need to get DS shredding paper tomorrow.

Prepared excel spreadsheet, copying all info across from the I&E updates I usually do with SC, ready to send to the creditors that have started asking for review. Seems pointless spending 0-40 minutes in phone call updating SC so that they can send me an updated version. Noticed that others don't volunteer a list of creditors and how much they have been offered. Not sure whether to just give total owed to all creditors on spreadsheet rather than break it down. They have already had the list in previous communications.
    All boring stuff.

It's half term so DS out to cinema/food with friends straight after school. Its the first time he has been out since socially since the start of the year. So I don't have to rush off for school run.
DH got home with a lovely bunch of pink and red roses/lilies for £10. He said he thought it was better to buy them a couple of days early for Valentines day, before they tripled in price:money: I couldn't stop laughing and accused him of secretly reading MSE - but he hadn't - apparently thought of it all by himself. It's really made my day - he hasn't done that since I gave up full time corporate life nearly 15 years ago!
It's amazing how a little adversity/shock to the status quo of life that had become habitual makes people realise what/who are the important things in life.
    Feeling thankful :)

    Happy Weekend everyone.

Yes NOA - keep it simple......they don't need all of that and you are a self-managed DMPer so don't really need SC. Save your time :)

The important thing with the predators is to stay in contact which you are doing so give yourself a break and in keeping in contact with predators, make it work the way you need it to!

    Have a happy Valentine's day :)

  • Sooo looking forward to a lie in tomorrow morning - no school run for a week:j

Need to have a good old spring clean though with DS at home to help - he has his language exchange partner coming in the week after next to stay for 5 days. Likely to be a few group meals out that week so need to some pennies this coming week.

Off to bed now, exhausted. it's not even 10pm :o

Just back from a couple of nights visiting parents. Big shop and got them stocked up on bulky heavy stuff, trip to recycling centre to clear bags of clothes/cluttter mum had sorted out, spent several hours Monday night sorting through some of their paperwork and managed to clear a lever arch file worth of paper which I have brought back home to shred. Various phone calls to people to come and mend things, or chase up overpayments etc. A hard two days work. Then got caught in traffic and journey took two and a half hours on way home instead of 90min. Exhausted. Roll on tomorrow....
Now need to catch up on two days SE work, and start getting on top of house - DS has language exchange partner coming next week.

DD called tonight and is very poorly and feeling very sorry for herself. A bit worried as she has 2 or 3 things one after the other and she has never been one to succumb to illness much.

    Off to bed now.
    Sweet dreams
