Where did this week go?
Exchange student has been here since Weds evening, and DS is utterly exhausted. Tomorrow not a fun day. He has music rehearsal for 2 hours in the morning for concerts in the next couple of weeks, then another at 4.30pm for the concert sat night. Poor exchange student will either have to go with him to the rehearsal or hang out with a mum:eek: :rotfl:He flies home Sunday morning so not going to be a fun last day for him. We'll have a few hours in between possibly to do something local, and a fast food meal out in between afternoon rehearsal 5.45pm and start of concert @ 7.15pm.
Then, despite my best intentions to not overdo things, have invited over another exchange family for a get together tonight, for supper. At least it will take pressure off DS, easier in a group.
We might all have to have catchup sleep on Sunday afternoon.:o
Have loads of work admin to catch up today, and several late birthday and other cards to send - only several week late
Plus a strict exercise regime to get into place, starting this minute, can procrastinate no longer!

So shopping is done for the weekend. There's 8 for supper tonight and I haven't done anything yet. Have just looked at my shopping and it will end up being a mish mash buffet. marinated chicken on skewers ( need to get that soaking), hot dogs with local sausages, a pasta dish, potatoes, salad, coleslaw _+ a bought quiche and bought profiteroles. Hmmm. If not a coherent menu at least I can say there's choice for the 4 teenagers
Need to cook whatever I can now , they'll be back by 7.30pm. Chop chop wash shred boil drain bake.
Have a lovely weekend everyone

Hope it goes well and that the teens do the clearing away.
When it's DS's usual friends they do help if I ask them to.

Pretty exhausted tonight. Exchange partner left and since lunch caught up with 4 loads of washing/drying, and some admin work. A couple of hours on the phone catching up with family, and looking at my bare fridge which means shopping again tomorrow.
Going to be a spendy month, car service is overdue, and need to check but think MOT is not so far away. Will probably start getting requests for the rest of DS's school trip for history soon too. Didn't get next invoice in, hopefully get that work completed by Weds.
Nite Nite all

Hope you get a rest soon. Set a budget and stick to it..that way at least its controlled spends...food and vehicles are pretty essential so don't beat yourself up about it.

Morning Brizzle,
Can manage the food budget but car is always the big unknown. I know there is an intermittent problem that's been there for a while that they can't find.
Need to take it to main dealer at some point for diagnostic tests to sort it. It doesn't have any oomph when going uphill, bit like me really(suspect it might be a gear problem - automatic car:eek:) so bound to be costly, and no savings at the moment after paying tax bill. which leads me to another sad story.
SA returns: did DH's and paid. Did partnership ones too. Did mine and paid. Got email notification to say I had communication from hmrc last week, didn't check in m y busyness with life. £100 penalty for mine as apparently not submitted. I had done it all - and printed before submitting to check, then presumably I didn't actually press submit. I thought it was all done and dusted. Have sent in an appeal form today , though don't hold out much hope
small possibility they might consider, as do have a reason, though they might just say I was careless ....and why didn't I do it in the 6 months previous to Jan! Are there any sympathetic human people at hmrc?
xx
