I learned that apparently there's a post-prescription audit system. My card expired and they hadn't send me a new one yet, but my chemist put it through anyway because they check against their records so if it turns out you don't have a valid PPC then they charge you for the prescription (and tack on a fine, I think). Handy to know that you don't have to have the card with you, though, if you're travelling/lost it (or if they haven't bothered to send a new one).

Hello NOA
So sorry to hear about your diagnosis but must say that you're sounding pretty stoical about it all..well done.
I had thought that if you had a long term condition eg. RA that you got all your scripts free. I will check again with my sister as I could be wrong.
Take it steady - the debts will come down I know.
Sending huge hugs

Thanks Brizzle.
The way I look at it is that you have to get on with life, or let it trample all over you. It's not going to go away, so I'll do everything I can to get on top of it then put it in the :spam: folder :shhh:
and focus on everything else. Unfortunately can't do star jumps now but here's a virtual few :j:j:j:j Was it Maggie that said This lady's not for turning - or something similar anyway - so it's still full steam ahead but with a little less puff for the time being:D
I did look at the exemptions but RA does not seem to be included, things like diabetes are. Might check with GP/consultant next time I go though, so thanks.
Hugs

Hmm. Have looked at exemptions and agree that arthritic conditions don't seem to be covered
but yes ask and if not write to your MP asking them to look into a policy change...
Well done on being positive. yes it was Maggie..NOA is not for turning:j :T

That's a good idea Brizzle,
It hits a very large number of people at some point 1 in 5 I read somewhere.
Was a bit cross on Wednesday because the 4 days of marking got cancelled due to papers being lost somewhere in transit, and I had turned down work at the school (first come first served;)) so I ended up losing both. Everything happens for a reason though , so today I was able to drive down to see my parents. Dad had an appointment with one of his consultants, so I left home 7.30am and made it in time for his 10am appointment, he's had some worrying times recently and I just wanted to make sure all was OK (ish - its not good at the best of times) on the kidney front. They were really pleased with this unexpected visit, and it made me feel good too. Got back to pick up DS at 5.30 after sitting an hour in stationary traffic, total journey time 2.5hr  Mum :A cooked and packed supper for us so no cooking tonightor tomorrow as there will be leftovers.
Exhausted now though as have spent 4.5 hrs in car today and 200+ miles.
Might be back later if I'm awake, just need to catch up with work emails etc. Another 2 quotes accepted :T:T we are now about a week behind schedule, so a working weekend again.
Friday tomorrow:T where did this week go?
DD home on Saturday for Easter :j

Morning all:)
Another weekend disappeared in a blur of chauffeuring. Voluntary work on Saturday morning, washing uniform etc. on Saturday afternoon, with a little bit of SE work squeezed in, picked up DD from Uni on Saturday evening. Slept. Early start on Sunday morning to get DS to the finals of a national schools music competition 130 miles away, watched 2.5 hours of music (actually very high standard and lovely to listen to, it was a proper concert hall) for DS's 5 minof stage time/glory:T, drove back, Slept.
Now it's Monday, and feel quite deflated today. Beautiful day outside though. Have some creditor updates to do, remainder of domestic stuff. Feel too tired to concentrate on SE work today, so am not going to try, will just catch up on other neglected chores that use less brainpower:o
Ark feels stuck in a stagnant muddy pool at the moment:(, but at least it's not sinking:)
Happy Monday everyone:)

Good Morning NOAh
Thanks for putting up that little picture for me recently!!
A while back I did wonder where you were and am delighted you are back up and posting. I haven't been updating too much recently but am now trying to make more of an effort.
I am of course very sorry to hear of the condition. Follow all of the medical advice and be happy and calm because you will be able to deal with this more easily than most other people. It is just the way you are made
Well done to DS on the stage and go easy when you tell him off for his screen activity. It is all around! Every parent has exactly the same issues so it cannot be something to get too upset about. Simply, the world changes and 'digitality' and the 'virtual world' come about and are no doubt the biggest lifestyle changing factor we will ever see in our lives......its good and it's poor but we can't change it. We're even using it ourselves aren't we?
I have to say I don't play games and never did. I have always thought everything I do should be for a purpose but that's not how a lot of peole see it.
Enjoy the fine weather and keep us posted.

Thank You Brizzle. It was a quiet one, a little bit of taxi-ing, grocery shopping, and usual domestic chores. DD away to see her boyfriend, and DS had a temp of 103 on Sunday and was off school Monday and Tuesday. Have been at my temp job this week, and get very tired so am usually in bed by 10.30pm
Everything ticking over fairly smoothly at the moment apart from statement from my old bank and they have slapped on £75 worth of interest charges  which wipes out my monthly payment to debtors. Another phone call/letter to write:mad: Hope they don't start playing silly bugs, don't have the energy at the moment for any hassle from them
Hope your decluttering /selling improving , last time I was at yours it was a bit slow.....

Thanks Brogden and you're welcomeI don't often air my undies in public but sometimes you just need to blow raspberries to etiquette.:D
I don't have a problem with digitality...just the gaming:D... totally addictive but he can't see that yet (I remember when many years ago I first discovered tetris). He'll be 16 at the end of this year and then I'll help him find a part time job somewhere, learn about money and that it doesn't come for free:rotfl: (am not a dragon mum really, honest:)).
