which I would have read about when I first joined and started reading diaries but have since forgotten.

No you would not have read it as I have only really started mentioning it, as I get a hold of it,get my head round the implications etc

The thing that is upsetting me the most at the moment is not being able to do anything in the garden (fingers and wrists very weak) That is where I found my moments of peace before so I have to find a way round that.

For me, its not letting it define me. I am not a different person. I have the same interests, dreams, needs, desires, goals, faults and frustrations that make up day to day living....positive mental attitude..............??? Nah..........just bloody minded;) I cleared the mental clutter, stopped some obligations that brought me nothing, now making inroads on the physical clutter and have even taken up other activities which I had let slide, because I thought I couldn't do anymore, where in fact they bring me great joy:D It has taken time, at a time when I felt time was no longer on my side and now I feel more in control and have that 'time' back !

You will find your own way :)

Glad to know my memory isn't failing me :D

re: finding a way - is in progress :)

Money allocated to buy a sit on mower again (have done without for 2 years) which will save time for all and I can actually do. Plus have ordered some tools designed to reduce strain on joints. Inflammation still high so advice has been to rest the joints and to prevent long term joint damage and deformity. Being told this when Nature is at its most rampant  but hey ho, I have always loved the natural look;) it will just be the latest neglected natural look for a while:D

    Hi NOA

Sorry to hear you haven't been able to get out in your garden. That must be sad for you. I suppose it doesn't matter if your family help with it as it's something you want to do and love doing.

At the risk of sounding unMSE (perish the thought) could you consider a Gardner? I have met a few nice ones and it might still give you pleasure to brief someone else on caring for it.

    All the best

Way to go Ig. Spot on. A very close friend of mine has MS (thankfully not too acute as yet but she has to pace herself and gets over tired easily) and she would agree with all of the above. It can't define you.

Much love to you both xx

    Hi Bob,
We used to have a gardener when SE was at its peak but it was one of the first things to go when we had to tighten belts. He/she used to come and do the routine tedious stuff and I used to grow things from seed and fill the patio planters/hanging baskets with colour with a little help and a lot of hindrance from DD/DS when they were little :rotfl:

Problem is that with such a large garden it needs a day a week, which at £10 per hr (minimum round here, or it was 10 years ago so probably more now!), that's £60-70 a week.
We normally have to get someone in to do a huge and long hedge along the boundary which costs a lot, and at the moment can't really afford any more, DH does all the shorter ones (up to 12ft)manageable with normal ladder. I paid DS to help with the garden last year and will do the same again this year.

Will keep reviewing though and we may well need to at some point.

    xx

Morning All, its a really lovely sunny day at the moment and birds are chirping away incessantly. DH at work, DS and DD asleep still, all is calm.

I achieved a lot (all for mum and dad) while I was away, it involved a lot of travelling which has taken its toll, and I've felt very queasy and generally out of sorts, so haven't done much in last couple of days except load and unload washing machine and "watch" tv - no idea what I saw:o. Lots of admin and SE work to catch up on, but it is all now within timescale, so I'm not going to stress about it until
    Monday.

Money - OK for the next month, with several clients yet to pay/invoice, so possibly won't need to keep checking balances every few days for May/June/possibly July. However it depends on how much car will cost (big service and MOT Plus the second set of two tyres I couldn't get done before Christmas) and cost of sit on - probably wrong season to be looking for one in terms of price.
Also, DS music lesson bill is due, as will be history trip balance at some point this half term.

DD will be going back to uni on Saturday, DH has offered to drive her back:)
DS is taking maths GCSES early and has that looming, and he hasn't done much revision while I have been away, nor has he worked on his project that will be due in at the end of the month  so some nagging and monitoring of computer activity necessary for the next few days:p

If I feel OK today, it would be nice to go out for a family meal courtesy of TClubcard - we didn't manage it for either DH birthday in Feb or Mother's Day as DD always seems to have other plans and DS didn't want to go without her. He's beginning to realise DD has other priorities now and finds it difficult to adjust.

Also need to go over tax stuff (AGAIN) as we both seem to be getting random Tax codes at regular intervals (4 since January!!) and now I no longer know what they are doing - mine is because my part time employment income is variable, but they can't seem to get DH car benefits etc right. Long letter summarising all dates/changes of employment/benefits in one place necessary Me thinks.

Gosh, what a tedious long and boring post :o ....will go away now and leave you in peace:p
