Day 9 today
Been to work today. The problem with supply teaching is I work a month in advance. Obviously didn't work during August so no pennies at the end of September. Everything I earn this month will be paid at the end of October so a long wait!
I've got in from work, put a load of washing on the machine and crashed on the sofa! I've got a million things I should be doing, though!
Day off tomorrow. Mid week, which is lovely as it cuts the week up, and I get to spend it with my son :j Had an email to say a christmas present I'd ordered for dh has arrived in store, so will be off to get that tomorrow as well as pay a cheque in that arrived from overpaying life insurance. :T
Other than that I think tomorrow will be a day of sorting shapes and building mega bloks towers

Mr T arrived last night, eventually. So many people struggle to find where we live, and we live in a town not in the middle of nowhere!! Our postcode is on very few sat navs! Anyway, grocery shopping this week came to £26.81, which means I have just over £100 left for the rest of the month. I can do that!!
Ds is all sniffly today, bless. He woke at 5, so is already back in bed for his morning nap! Think I'll leave the shopping today as he's not 100%. Will go after work on Friday instead.
Thought of more christmas gifts today, fudge. Dh has a thermometer and has made some before, so decided to make some as christmas gifts. Will obviously need to have trial runs. Lots and lots of trial runs!
Going to find 10 items today that I can list on ebay. Will list them tomorrow evening for 10 days, so they will finish week Sunday. Fingers crossed we make a few pounds!Starting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500 -
That's a really good shopping budget......well done :T
Love the idea of making a Christmas gift, sounds tasty..yum yum
You really are on a mission with the diary, so motivating
keep up the good work

Thank you Dobbibill, it's lovely to receive feedback and know I'm heading in the right direction.
I've received an email this morning to say I've been accepted on mr t's home panels, so I'm looking forward now to see what I'll be reviewing firstStarting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500 -
Well I am shattered! I've been back teaching his week. Only doing 3 days this week, but add on to that late nights, a poorly little boy and more money stress and I'm shattered! Also dropped the iPad on my foot earlier, which is really sore!
Anyway, on a more positive note, I listed 10 items on ebay this evening. All starting at 99p, 10 days to go. Hope I manage to make a few pounds from it! I've got plenty more clothes that can go on. I've also got lots of work to do with my second, crafting job, which is good for the extra pennies, but means I'll now be working over the weekend to catch up and missing family time! Definitely need the moment, though! At the moment, we are £161 short at the end of the month for bills, food and petrol next month. I knew it would happen like this as I obviously don't teach over the summer, and most of the work I do is a month in advance of pay. Next month is looking a lot better, just need to work out how to make the £161 without dipping into savings/emergency fund, etc. hopefully ebay will help! We are also going away at the beginning of next month for a couple of days for our niece's birthday (they live away). Hotel has already been paid for, which includes breakfast, but will need to find money for petrol, lunch, dinners, taking our son out, etc.
We've got me T vouchers for food on Friday evening, so will only be paying for drinks. Will limit to one (already have a bottle of vino to take with us). Got a taste card trial, which can be used for half price food in our hotel, so that's the second night helped. Still need to find money for part of our meal though. Determined not to touch our savings/emergency fund at all. It's going to be a tough 3 weeks, but I will manage this!
Not as upbeat about it all this evening. I knew September was going to be tough, doesn't make it easier to deal with though! We are so much in debt as well, and all we can afford to pay at the moment is the minimum. I'm pretty sure this will all change, but I am impatient, and want to attach the debt now!
I think I need to head off to bed!I'm sure tomorrow will be much brighter

It's Friday night, I've done nothing since getting in from work and I'm a lot less stressed than I was last night!! Spent £3 on groceries today, still puts me under budget for the week
Filled the car up with petrol (first time this month!! Woohoo!!). Came to £45, so not too bad! Other than that, this evening I have played with my son, opened a bottle of vino after he had gone to bed, ate dinner and watched soaps on the TV. A lovely relaxing evening! I will find the money I need by the end of the month - one ebay item has already got 10 watcher, with 9 days to go.......thinking positive!

Monday is here, and it has almost gone already! We had a lovely weekend, and spent £9 all weekend. Didn't eat out at all, took a picnic for our day out. The £9 was spent on a drink each for me and dh, a colouring/sticker book and crayons for ds (were out and had forgotten his toy bag!). A weekend used to mean, meal out on Friday, lunch out on sat, a bit of shopping, a junk food shop for Sunday, etc. When you realise what you can/can't afford, though, it does make you appreciate things more
I think this cutting back on spending is doing good for my waistline, though! We're not really buying chocolate/sweets now, other than value choc with weekly shopping. I opened the choc today, and really didn't want it. It is now back in the fridge!
Mr T is delivering tomorrow evening, the fridge/cupboards will be full again! Yippee!!Starting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500 -
I was just thinking I hadn't updated for ages, and I was only on here Monday! Mr T delivered yesterday, which came to around £26. Got full fridge/cupboards again. Our stock of meat in the freezer is starting to run out, so I need to do an evening shop somewhere to see whether I can find some bargains!!
I've had bookings for the end of October for supply today. It's nice to know there is work, though I'm not happy working for the agency at all. I earn around half what I earn working through the council. Though, when there isn't council work I always have the agency to fall back on. Grrr!!
Anyway, Wednesday is my planned day off for the week as I have no childcare for my son. It's my favourite week day! We went to the park and then popped into town to pay a couple of cheques into the bank, change our library books and complete a few chores. We spend £1.79 on a card and an elf bag from Poundland (will be good for Elf on the Shelf!).Starting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500 -
Happy Friday everyone
I've had a busy working week, which is of course a good thing. 3 days already booked next week, which is fab! I popped into mr t's after work to pick up a couple of bits. Spent just over £7. I've decided to do a fortnightly home delivery as there are some weeks I add things to the basket just to make sure it's over £25. Thought if I buy non perishables every 2 weeks, then top up with fruit, milk, bread etc every week it may work out cheaper.
Also received a £5 voucher for c0-0p, with a minimum spend of £5. If I, popping to the supermarket every week, I think I'll start looking at Ald1 to save money.Starting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500
