I'm sure she thinks it's perfectly normal, she probably does it for other people however i would feel like you, it is a bit strange! The letterbox is there for a reason!
Just write a note, stick it on the front door by the handle "please put post through letterbox" if she ignores this she definately is a strange one lol then its time to lock the door or let the delivery office know your not happy with it.0 -
Why's the front door being left unlocked all night? I assume that is the case otherwise who ever is going out of the door before the postie calls could just lock the door behind them or on their return, like has already been suggested on here a gazillion times.0

We have an external post box because our dog eats the mail, so we put a note OVER the letterbox saying "Please use POST BOX" and an arrow pointing right at the box....
......we get people who actually unstick the note to put leaflets or whatever through. Madness.

At my parents' old house the letter box went into the porch but the porch door was always open - and so the postie would open the front door and leave the post in the hallway. I don't remember ever thinking that this was particularly weird. But I suppose that if you actually have a letter box this might seem a little unnecessary - but if it bothers you why not just lock the door?0
