I like the idea of an uninvited wonderful positive letting itself into my house0

Autocorrect can give come funny results. The things I have sent to my friends and family on occasions are almost indistinguishable!!!

Autocorrect is the bane of my existence on my phone. I have rather chubby thumbs so typing messages is a chore at the best of times but then when you use some obscure abbreviation or slang word and autocorrect changes it completely... well, it's perturbing!0 -
I lock my door for many reasons, but locking it to prevent the postman from walking into my home isn't one of them. I would expect a reasonable postman to deliver my letters through my letterbox or not at all, rather than entering my house.0

Ours does it sometimes, better than getting large letters squished.0

The second time I was in the back garden and came in to find the letters on my desk.
THAT is what was put on the first post. No, she isn't 'dropping them on the mat'. She entered the house and put them on a desk! And being as the OP has a letterbox there is no excuse.
Ah ok. I guess I was assuming that the desk was near the door as is my table. To me that is what it sounds like.
OP, does she actually have to cross the threshold or just lean in and put the post on the desk?
I'd still go down the route if having a word first before reporting her though. A lot of things can be sorted out nice and friendly, just my opinion of course.0 -
My window is often open by the front door and my postie puts parcels etc through the window onto my desk. I have no issue with it. It's much better than having to nip out to collect it at a later date.
OP if you really have an issue with it, mention it to your postie. Why cause trouble for her by going over her head to management. It isn't necessary.0 -

Georgie, this really isn't the point. If there is a perfectly serviceable postbox / letterbox, it should be put in that. This is especially the case for post which is small enough to fit in the letterbox with ease.
It just is not on, and to be quite honest about it, this woman will be lucky if she is not reported for entering people's homes uninvited. It may only be through the "good sense" of the OP that she avoids getting into some real trouble over this.
The postie is inviting problems for heself with this behaviour.0 -

This is acceptable if you have got to become familair with the regular postie over time
But....
When a "fill in" postie who you are not familiar with, actually chooses to physically open a door to your house, when there is a bloody letterbox right by them that could (and should) be used.???
Not way is that right.0
