Valli, surely you're not back to school already?!
I've been bitten on my calf :(. Itchy.
    Can't sleep. Meh.
2childmum, my 2 both do sea cadets. DS is in juniors so 1 night a week. Dd is a senior so 2 nights for that, plus a night for band practice. She did drill comp too so was there every Monday night for some months. 4 nights a week out of the house! We don't actually have a week night without something on. And I work nights!
The sea cadets do lots of training courses, many shown on the website. DD has all sorts of qualifications now from weekends here and there. She should come back from Weymouth with stage 1 sailing too and be a good way towards stage 2. It's amazing fun for them :)

Glad the bathroom's on the list today, mine needs a scrub :o

    Morning everyone.

Have been up since 6 but have been browsing about on the internet instead of doing anything more productive. I need to find new shoes for work. I sometimes have to walk a lot and I am sick of silly shoes that hurt my feet. Sign of getting older I guess. I cant wear anything too flat or ballet pumps that slip about because of an old foot problem so I am going to try some brogues.

Right, on with the day. Work first, then some flying, DS2 to pick up at half three, dog to walk and the last bits of washing to put away.

Have a good day all x
  • Morning all - I am up, showered and breakfasted!!!

Great news LW re Mr LW.

Valli I hear you re name tapes! - not sure if you think it's a good idea but I used to hate it when the littlies got their pumps on the wrong feet. So I used to draw a semi circle in my DS' pumps so that they made a circle when placed together the right way round - had to teach him to recognise a circle first but it seemed to work!!! perhaps not so much of a problem now as do all pumps have velcro fasteners?

Busy morning trying to catch up - so plan is:
    Kitchen catch up
Lounge and Dining room catch up
    Bathroom start
    More paperwork and find passwords!!!!!
    Text
Phone call to plumber for us
    Query to council

Vol Job 2 all pm after cup of tea with D Sis.

Have a great day everyone xx

    Morning!

I've just put the last bits of rubbish out after sieving through DD hair bits and bobs. She has plenty so binning some of the over-stretched elastics won't hurt. Think I can hear the bin wagon now!

Thanks for the reminder re labelling school stuff. DD has a new bag also. Her new culottes fit but she hates them. Having said that, she will probably wear them with tights when it's cooler (err, now? Brrr). I think DS clothes should be fine. The trousers he has in the box were a bit long, but he has grown some. We'll do some trying on later...

I've sorted with school club about what days I need them in September and they have sent me a bill so that's organised. Ooh, I might email the chair as we were having a committee viewing of the new school building next week. Exciting! New building looks fab from the outside but they haven't demolished the old one yet  and we are back to school in 2 weeks.

    Right.
Paid stuff. Will fly at lunch time!

Morning all. A busy morning so far, I've walked the dogs, hoovered downstairs, got the first of two washloads on the line, put the rubbish/recycling/composting out and dusted our bedroom. I've got about half an hour now before the madness of the paid stuff begins, so will see what I can do from today's list.

    Have a great day everyone.
Spend less now, work less later.

Aaawww Bossy.. Why does she hate them? Is it because they aren't a dress? Mine don't like shorts (anything more than 1 cm above the ankle is 'shorts'), my 2 youngest boys haven't worn shorts since they were 2 or 3. My girls have full length trousers and pinafores .. the pinafores are rarely worn! I loathed having to wear a skirt to school and I'm sure my stepmother found the most hideous skirt she could to make me look stupid as well as feel uncomfortable.. I hated it so much I would get it out of the cupboard to jump up and down on it.. and I wasn't nearly 4!

Nope - just getting ready for Sept. As I don't have a classroom of my own I am helping others because I'm nice;)

DW emptied. Haven't done a washload because there's not enough in the basket! First time in WEEKS...

Bossy - re the culottes - all the 'tomboys' wear them- they are (IMO) brilliant for girls for headstands etc.

When I was little (- back in the day), my Mum used to sew a loop of elastic for a hanger inside coats - they are MUCH better than the commercial loops becuase, having a bit of 'give' they keep the coats on the pegs in busy cloakrooms.

JTTOU - 2 semicircles - shoes the right way round! GENIUS *files away for future reference as will be teaching reception PE on Fridays*

LameWolf - enjoy your first peaceful day without Mr Wolf under your feet;)

Off out this morning and plan on chewing a frog when I get back and doing some vigorous sweeping (ie moss and weed moving) on block paving.
