Phew. Work finished for the week. And I've just finished delivering my session on "Analysis for the Senior Manager". Phew. I've been dreading that one. The head of region was attending too, and I have had it playing on my mind for 2 months. But, it's done. And if my boss asks me to do any more I shall give him two words. (No thanks, :rotfl:)

So I'm now in flinging mode but the inlaws are bringing the kiddies back and I'm supposed to be making tea for everyone. But I'm considering buying us all fish and chips. Lol. I'm just kn@ckered...

ITS OFFICIALLY THE WEEKEND FOR 5 DAYS!

Bossy well done!:T After that, I think you can be forgiven for getting fish'n'chips for dins.

I've finally finished going through my backlog of emails - I'd got seriously behind over the last couple of days.

    Also decluttered a large-ish amount of loose fur from Ted - he's a very smart-looking boy now.:D

Wish I could declutter this damned backache and the creakiness in the ol' paws. I foresee a dose of Oramorph in my immediate future.

Dusty how are your eyes today, hun?

Signing off for today - see you all tomorrow.

  • Thanks for tips re limescale Poohbear - have been meaning to ask re DS's flat! Think it may be up to me to sort when we go down but can't imagine what it'll be like by then as we aren't due to go until October! Think he needs a cleaner perhaps fortnightly for bath, kithcen and floors but not sure how much that may be where he is! or if he can afford one.

Been to museum this afternoon and part cleaned our bathroom just before I went. Will catch up tomorrow. Have a good evening everyone x

Kaz - thanks for you info re sea cadets. DD is very keen, but she is busy with musical stuff and trampolining, so although she is not at school and therefore we don't have to factor in homework, I don't want her too busy as she can get very tired very easily. She has been practising her knots all day!
Merry - I hang my head in shame alongside you - there is limescale in my bathroom in places I didn't know existed until I noticed the mess. I may join you in a vinegar-fest

And may I scream very loudly? Went to sort out DD passport - and they offered to send it back but it would take at least another 4 weeks (having waited 6 for it to arrive) and she needs it. So I had to shell out for more photos (when I have some at home) and fill in more forms and wait around for 4 hours, which meant we had to buy lunch and it must have cost me nearly £40 all together to sort it out!!!!!
And then I got home and had a pile of letters from a bank and a building society and both of them have mucked up children's accounts. Had to phone one, and it looks like it will be sorted, but the other is going to take a large chunk of time with a calculator for me to get to the bottom of what they have done - I think last year they did something different to what they had done for the previous 7 years and that has mucked up this year! AAAARGh
So nothing done around the house again today and no time this evening and an ironing pile about to explode and DH working until nearly 10 every night so no help there and I just want to go to bed!!!!

GCSE results here tomorrow. DS wanted friends back to lunch but said friends have not answered texts so I don't know how much food to get in. Good luck to others waiting for results too.
DH has interview tomorrow (I thought it was last week). It is between him and one other, but he is so shattered i shall be surprised if he can speak in a straight line!

    Hello!
I've ironed, changed cat's tray, put washing into machine, tidied up a lounge and hoover everywhere. My house looks better now.

Ooh all this talk of school stuff reminded me, I was going to get some cheap drawstring bags for DS to hang on the back of his bedroom door (yes I know I could make them but I am useless at that kind of thing). I thought he could put his outdoor PE kit in one, indoor kit in another, footie kit in another and so on. He is 13 but hopelessly disorganised and did ask me if I could help him organise his sports stuff better.

Just having half an hour then off to tackle the bathroom. Brrr its cold here today!

I have brought in the stepladder (it lives in the shed) and put the stuff that didn't sell on the car boot back in the loft (actually we couldn't fit it all in the car to take it!) and the landing is clear and I have vacuumed it with my new vax and it looks MUCH better. I have also brought down the paintbrushes - I MIGHT get a frog eaten - I have bare wood needing varnishing from when we had the kitchen refit - in FEB 2012:eek:

DS has two drawstring ones, one for pe kit which stays at school mon-fri and one in his bag with a change of clothes although I expect older ones are less likely to wet themselves. I hope ;)

We did all have fish and chips, the chippy near us serves big portions so we got 3 fish and 2 lots of chips between 5 of us. Mmm.

Now I need to not eat for the next week... :p

I have lots of flapping to catch up on tomorrow, but might take the kids swimming - must check the summer timetable.

I'm supposed to be putting them to bed but they are scoffing popcorn now - honestly, I don't know where they put it all...
