Not done a great deal here this week I'm afraid. Visited Sunderland Mon/Tue to see the university - DD was very impressed and I really liked it too. It's a long way from Kent and we won a free coffee for the people who travelled the furthest for the open day
All the very best to flykids getting their GCSE results today.
Vanilla I hope your bug b*ggers off very soon.

We're slowly munching frogs here
- Fixed the top on a built in cupboard which had collapsed on top of the gas meter! Turns out someone built the cupboard using a nail replacement adhesive and no other support! (on the list since around Easter I think?)
- Put 2 shelves in a small alcove (35cm wide!) which DD did almost on her own, I just did the drilling and spacing out. This means that alcove has gone from having 2 shelves near the top and then a 4ft space underneath to having 4 useable shelves for my candles etc and the bucket for cleaning can live on the bottomOn the list for 10 years
- Built out & fitted the fire surround which was a nightmare because of the way the gas pipe runs to the gas fire. I bought the surround in August 2012 and been waiting for my friend to come and fit it ever since!
- Fixed the hardboard on some boxed in pipes (on and off the list for 10 years as we'd fix it and then we'd notice another bit that needed fixing lol)
- Fixed the understairs cupboard door which was coming apart (made of 1x1 & hardboard!) and has been driving me mad for I don't know how long!
- DD has primed the shelves & fire surround
- Some of the gloss work has been painted, just waiting on it drying enough that we can move stuff back to access more of it.
DD is in the kitchen baking and is attempting to use up all the baking ingredients. She is then cleaning up due to the mess she's made. I'm about to do some paid stuff then have a look at the cost of a few things. I've managed to keep up with the laundry, DD is sort of keeping up with the dishes for me and the rest of the house is relatively untouched and therefore fine.Off to do this paid stuff as my deadline is today

Which airport, pigpen? If Manchester there is a pub almost on the runway. I think it's called the Airport Hotel and it's at the Wythenshaw end. The garden is kitted out with play stuff and has an uninterrupted view of (I think) runway 3. I spotted it when we were taking off on our hols last month! It looked perfect for littlies and serves food etc
Oooh that looks perfect.. we are off to the park in the morning so can pop there after for lunch maybe.. thank youLB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Not looked at list, and am whizzing by so sorry it's short and sweet!
Since I got up at 3:45 I have: cleaned bathroom and loo. Tidied our BR so it's puppy proof (not hoovered yet). Washed and swept our front door step and path way. It was minging. Recycling. Stripped kids beds and put one load of WM on. Rearranged DW and washed up some bits that were too minging for the machine. Rung to change to an NHS dentist as mine has changed to private (that took ages!).
Now chucking a coffee down mine and DH's necks and then we're off to PO, pets at home for a lead and bowls and then off to get pup.

Oooh that looks perfect.. we are off to the park in the morning so can pop there after for lunch maybe.. thank you
On looking there seems to be a £5 charge to park but comments say you get most refunded if you buy food there. Enjoy!
Almost nodded off this afternoon - was cold so we put the fire on for a bit and it made me feel all befuddled, watching "Barbie as Rapunzel" with the littlies on the sofa.
Since then I have re-stuck the name plate on DD door, made dinner, instructed kids to do "tidy time" (its a work in progress), put some washing away and done a bit more in the garage.
I've repaid the kids £5 each afte borrowing £4 for parking money. Not a bad return for themand I've tidied my purse and handbag. Oh, WM x 1 and DW x 1 also.
Loads of headlice treatment ads on TV today, lol.Bossymoo

Sorry, didn't mean to stay away so long!
thank you Dancemum. Horsepiddle appointment take 2 attended without incident, although I have been cleaning a little to vigorously and two rings needed cementing back on. I need to find out where I am on the horsepiddle surgery list so they can cement some more rings in my mouth before they smash my jaws to bits....but they don't put them in too far ahead of surgery as they are "wotsits" to keep clean and no point risking a mouthful of fillings for surgery that could still be months away!
So pleased to here that Ginge is making steady progress, muscle building vibes on their way from all at the Skint Pitz.
I cannot believe how much difference having the right size plastic storage boxes makes......you would think 23 years after leaving my parent's home I would be the proud owner of a variety uppertyware, storage boxes and the like.....but no, I had about 12 boxes across the whole house for all 6 of us, and most of those were smallish in size.
I have also bought my own choice in clothes hangers for the first time in my life....the EX threw away any hanger made of plastic before we moved nearly 8 years ago and bought solid wood hangers for everybody from the Swedish shop....great for adults who mainly wear trousers but not for skirts or dresses or strappy tops etc where they just slight off the hangers. DS and DD4 have had a small quantity of plastic hangers purchased for some of their clothes and the rest have been folded but not in a way I was happy with.
I have now acquired some plastic coated wire hangers for "drying" clothes straight out of the washing machine, and some hang ons which allow me to hang 6 hangers in the space of one with resorting to "roadkill" fizzy can tabs to hook over the existing hangers. I have started reorganising my wardrobes in rainbow fashion using Loom Bands from Fat to Thin (aka never in a million years)
Fat is currently denoted by a red loom band slipped over the top of the hanger and means it fits me at the moment. Orange means it fits but tight or slightly gaping and if I loose half a stone it might look ok, then going further down the rainbow until we get to purple.......
everything that is red is in the main wardrobe so I can see what fits, every other colour is stacked using the hang ons.......and stuffed into my half wardrobe....so as I never have to get cross with myself that stuff doesn't fit.....once I move to Orange the Red clothes will be relegated to the half wardrobe, once I get to Yellow, all the Red clothes will go down to CS as job lot....no exceptions, and the Orange ones will go into the half wardrobe and so on...........that way I have an incentive never to put the weight back on once I loose it.
There hasn't been much real flying apart from clothes washing, degibbling and re-organising, but I have a quick flutter around my finances and they have taken a severe hammering, so I will need to play the money merrygoround for a 0% and then make some serious effort to get some paid off.
On a very MSE note, I saw a man burning some wood and leaves and stuff next to a pile of trees cut into Skinty sized manageable logs, so now the EX has installed a wood burner, I was thinking free heating!
I cheekily asked if I could "help" him remove some of his logs by giving them a good home, which he said I could within in reason, so I have half a car boot of logs and half a boot of kindling, I didn't even take 5% of what was there, but feel quite chuffed that I didn't drive on past....some is very light so must be from dead trees, and others are quite heavy so I will probably be able to store them for next winter but very :money: Martin would be proud!
right DD2 beckons for a ride, so off I go....hopefully back soon for more degibblingThe cold never bothered me anyway0 -
I am very cold and don't want to put the heating on so I haven't done a lot today. Snuggled under a duvet is easier than cleaning.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

[STRIKE]1. Hoover upstairs[/STRIKE]
2. Change the bed
[STRIKE]3. Dust and decobweb the bathroom
4. WM
5. Peg out washing (nice here ATM)[/STRIKE]
couldn't change the bed earlier as the cat was happily snoozing in the middle of it and as she is old and decrepit I didn't want to disturb her- will do it later before I get into bed (although I said that last night!)
off to walk on treadmill then I'll be back to declutter some unwanted emails!Go hopefully into each new day, enjoy something from every day no matter how small, you never know when it will be your last0
