Yes, I've experienced the "three-towel-wet" dog before now!:D Some of my guests come with better towels than we have in our bathroom (Jessie has two very nice, large towels with her) and some just have a threadbare hand towel (not much use if you get caught out in a heavy shower).:o

Evening all, thanks for the comments re towels, I think I'll ditch some!! I could do with the cupboard space . DD lives with us but has her own and does her own laundry and the 2x2 quality ones are enough for OH and me. We don't have dogs just a geriatric cat that is so small I could dry her with a hanky if she ever kept still long enough for me to try, actually these days she refuses to go out if it's raining!! I may keep a couple of hand towels as well but the rest of the ratty ones can go!!

Flying wise I went to work and spent 4 hours tidying, cleaning, sweeping, washing out containers and my classroom is still a tip!!! I shall be going back in next week.

I have also done some planning which is quite amazing as we still have 2+ weeks off and I'm NEVER this organised LOL
Go hopefully into each new day, enjoy something from every day no matter how small, you never know when it will be your last

Another day off list. We walked up to the shops to get a few bits, did the essentials. Then had mum and dad over lunch. Made some homemade hot cross buns. They were yum but didn't rise very much. I did mess it up though and wondered why when it had finished it looked the same as it went it. Then I realised I didn't put the blade in! Machine made all the noises but no kneading happening! Doh! Put the blade in and ruan it through again. Maybe that is why they were a little on the small side!
Ate a major frog this afternoon. Our study becomes a storage room most of the time. I clear it periodically but within a few weeks it is full again! Anyway, there was a cat smell downstairs which has been lingering. So I cleared the room, finding homes for everything and put some stuff in the garage. I then hoovered the floors, inluding all the corners, de-cobwebbed and then got on my hands and knees and scrubbed the floor. Also did the same in the hallway. Hubby came home and said the smell had gone! Yippee! We went out, came home and you guessed it, we can smell it again. There was a duvet civet being stored in there, it doesn't really smell but going to put that it the wash. The same with the curtains. We also have a small patch of carpet near the front door so tomorrow will steam clean that! Please let that sort it!
Only naughty thing was that the kids were getting restless so I had a pile of stuff in the garden that needed putting in the garage and then when we went out I brought it into my nice clear utility room. Definitely moving that tomorrow too!!!!

Only thing off the list was wash the bedding! Lol! Onwards for tomorrow! I don't feel too bad as the house is looking so much better doing these 'off list' lists. See you all in the morning!

    Morning all

bright and sunny here, I have pegged out towels. DW has been on; half emptied so far.

When Miss Valli emerges she's going to get the course info for places she's been offered and have a read through. Tomorrow there's an Open Day at one place.

Super KUDOS to msgnomey - it's so easy to think you have all the time in the world - hopefully you will have a peaceful last week with the virtuous *glow*of knowing everything's ready!

DD1 ... bizarrely she was so stressed about the sicking she did the exam with no issue and got the B lol.

Yikes  Pigpen. DDs friend had a migraine attack just before one of her A levels this time and had to sit the exam in a darkened room with a sick bucket. An invigilator read out the questions to her and she wrote her own answers without being able to see the answer booklet.

She still managed to get a B but it meant she didn't get into the dentistry courses she wanted. Fortunately she isn't too worried because she had already deferred her course and after DD and her get back from interrailing, she is off to Bangladesh for Tearfund and then is working the ski season as an instructor for a Christian organisation and has plenty of time to re-evaluate her plans.

Having to suddenly make new plans on the spur of the moment (through clearing etc.) when you have spent months making considered decisions must be VERY stressful.

I am catching up on yesterdays work today and then will have a quick shufty through the lists to see what I can cross off with the minimum of effort, I'm feeling that way out today! :D
