Hello All
Council been & gone, he's putting in a request for a new cistern! About time!
moiliere - I used to use Curves all the time when I lived in Birmingham, I prefer it to Fitness first! Is curves still an all female gym?
icecubequeen - i got 2 cat baskets/beds for when Charlie was coming, 1 was fluffy and the other was a wicker sort of basket, both new from freecycle. The fluffy 1 - I placed his blanket in, he had in the cats home, and the other, I placed a fleece blanket in with a small catnip toy. Guess where he sleeps! Other than anywhere in the day, at night, he sleeps in the wicker with the catnip. You dont have to buy toys with catnip fragrance on, just buy a pump spray from a pet shop! Hope it works for you!
I came home from work, all light headed, and feeling sick, had to get a neighbour to fetch DD from school. I laid on the settee for a while, but I felt as if I'd drunk 10pints - the room was spinning. Im not right now, but better than I was! And no! Im not pregnant!
(((hugs to Queenie))), its great to have slobbing out days, it doesn't mean your'e a failure! I hope you pick up soon!
Right best be off.
Take care

QUEENIE - please don't be so angry with yourself; we all have slobbing out days - no-one can keep going all the time. You are perfect to us and have given me loads of welcome advice and genuine inspiration. I have many many days when I know I could have done a lot more than I did and, more often than not, it's sheer laziness, but then I think 'hang on a minute - I'm not just someone's other half, someone's mother, someone's daughter - I'm ME and I may not be perfect but I still count. So, love yourself, QUEENIE - you're so worth it. It's not all about looking after others; YOU matter, too.

Hi!
Queenie You are not c*** you're just having a c*** day. Try to make a list of all of the good things in your life and the difference that you make in the world, even if it's a small one. You need some 'me' time to do something you enjoy, even if it's watching your fav film, eating a box of chocs or having a friend around and sharing a bottle of wine. This c*** day will be in the past tomorrow and hopefully you'll feel better.:grouphug:
My day has consisted of driving all over the place trying to buy meths for our little camping stove/trangia. In the end I found some in the pharmacy in Asda. We go camping for 3 weeks in Holland next week so I've started getting organised for that. DH and the girls finish school on Friday so this week I'm catching up on my housework and getting on with some paperwork from school.
Must go as I've got to go and collect DD2 from her friend's.0 -
lots of hugs Queenie xx
hugs to penny-pincher too xx havent seen her posting for a day or two0 -
(((Queenie)))
icecubequeen my cats ignore the catbeds too, although I can persuade Echo into one if she comes up to bed with us, but more often than not she's on "guard duty" keeping out invader cats by sleeping on the stairs (they end right by the cat flap). I made a lovely one out of gold furry material, with a leopard spot furry material ring outside for Poppy cat. I thought that she'd look really good in it since she's all black (unless her fur has gone suntan auburn) and she did for the first year. Now, she hardly ever comes in the house and if she does she sleeps under the chest of drawers with no cat bed at all! The main favourite spot used by Bailey, Echo and now Finn is on top of the tower of boxes in the living room that contain the car boot stuff! So I give up!
Crazychik Strangely enough, cat nip spray doesn't work for my crew, but Echo nearly killed my real catnip plant she's such a druggy for it!
JillD Ssssh, you're scaring me with all your actions! Where do you get your energy?
As expected, had a slow day, mainly tidying up and cleaning in the kitchen and bathroom. Watched a tv drama I'd recorded whilst doing all that .... only to get engrossed in the story AND then find it was a two-parter and I haven't got the second part. Arrrgh. Haven't done much else but trying to tidy up in office area now. Oh did chase Finn back from garden several times - for a 9 week kitten he can really motor!
Think neighbour has sold her place (again). She dragged her "OH" or "regular male visitor" into the estate agency as well, so they must have been negotiating. Please let there not be big dogs next door!
Take care all ! Remember, it's another lovely new day tomorrow0 -
THRIFTLADY - I suppose there's no point asking you for the recipe for the choc chip and banana slices, is there, because you've probably thrown it away, haven't you?!
but you can find it here http://www.deliaonline.com/recipes/banana-and-chocolate-chip-slice,1881,RC.html i didin't put the icing on btw -heaven knows how many point that would be. I'm taking a leaf out of Oops a Daisy's book and giving up baking (other than bread) -the kids can have popcorn, munchy seeds and cream crackers for their snacks.

JillD my kids are 7, 10 and almost 12 and they still argue about who sits where on the sofas -we have 2 two-seaters plus another chair and yet they cannot manage to sit in there without fighting  They drive me insane.
Have fed the kids early because I cannot face eating with them today. They bicker, criticise and interrupt each other constantly. DD takes hours and hours to eat, and as soon as she gets a whiff of what's for pudding she abandons her main course.
Me and OH are going to have the rest of my WWs salad with mayonnaise mixed in to make it taste nice (:p to WWs), smoked mackerel and baked spud -just half
I want some wine.......but there isn't any:(0 -
Oh! Queenie, whatever makes you think that everyone is a domestic goddess here? I certainly ain't and probably never will be! As for spending the day slobbing, well as the bible says,"let he who is without sin, cast the first stone" I am sure that none will be cast, and as for perfection, well I think that could be the figment of someone's imagination, there is not such thing as the perfect person, either shape or temperament.
Loads of virtual ones from here.:grouphug: :grouphug: Hope that tomorrow is another day.

Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -
(((((Big hugs))))) Queenie! We all have c**p days for one reason or another, please give yourself a break sometimes, put your feet up and spoil yourself. Nobody here is a domestic goddess, we all have days when nothing seems to go right or we really can't be bothered. You are right life is about more than cooking and cleaning, the most important being your lovely boys, you need look no further than them to see you are not a failure! You have had a rotten time recently and my heart goes out to you but you are most definately not a failure, you are a lovely, kind and inspiring lady and I love your posts!
Catz xOur days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.
