THRIFTLADY - I suppose there's no point asking you for the recipe for the choc chip and banana slices, is there, because you've probably thrown it away, haven't you?!

Hit a major "F'off" day today!

I haven't felt this way since my dh walked out on us. I've tried all day to shake this off, but it just ain't happening!!!

Last Friday, a lady (such a sweetie!), pointed out to me that 18 mths is still a relatively *new/fresh* timescale in the whole order of things - but, you know, there are days when the rawness of dh !!!!!!ing off still seems so fresh! So ... unbearable!!!

I'm not a good person; really! Oh I cook, I clean, I keep house, I keep OS! But, ultimately, that just makes me feel like some kind of saddo! Some day's I can't even tell the whole unadulterated truth on OS, because it's so pathetic! And then, when I *do* say, "this is what I've achieved today" others intrepret that as "Wow! How does she *do* it?"

I don't even know why I'm posting now, except to say - I make mistakes; I'm not perfect; imagine what you will - you won't come close ;)

I read of others who's lives are so, so challenging, and my heart goes out to them. Then I read posts where others think I'm doing oh so ok!!! And I could weep - because ...

it's not ALL about cooking from scratch!
It's not ALL about keeping it all clean!!
It's not ALL about make do and mend!!!!

Some things, can't be mended! Some days it's about slobbing out in front of the TV ( admit it in OS if you DARE!); some days it's about NOT coping! Yet; others "assume" we do ;) Cope, that is!

I'm NOT coping ;) I'm an OS failure today :D:D I know there will be long time OS'er who think, "Oh wow! Really?"

I've lost count of the times I've put on a brave face rather than tell it how it is!

Today is a C.RAP day!!!!!!! There, I've said it! All those cynics, read that and weep ;)

Today, I'd rather be anyone else bar "Queenie!"

    Goodnight, Godbless! Endex ;)

ok I admit it, all I have done today is watch c*ap TV, Kitchen hasn't been cleaned but will be shortly but that's all I am doing today. Some days you just need to recharge your batteries and today has been that day for me.

Will make tea later, something with veggies probably stir fry, then off to work tonight, my least favourite shift.

    Afternoon all

    Queenie - Hugs to you

What started as "painting a feature wall" in the bedroom ended with the whole room getting done - just got half a wall left and ran out of paint (typical) Will go pick some up tonight. It's a lovely colour but doesn't go with the curtains, will see if I can dye them.

Had a very loud storm here this afternoon - it's cleared the air again though so I'll not complain.

DH is off to pick up a compost bin (brand new) from a freecycler on his way home, DD's are fighting over who's in charge of filling it - told them that whoever gets the job has to do some research into what can go in it...that soon shut them up :D

Left over chilli for DH tonight whilst DD's and I have Lidls cod in batter (it's yummy). I have to be so careful with DH's fish and seafood allergy that we rarely eat fish when he's around - thought I'd be brave tonight though.

Hope you all have a wonderful evening - mine will be slobbing in front of the tv with a glass of wine and a large bar of choccy.

That's OK, queenie, I've had to slob on front of teh puter or TV for the past 7 weeks. We all do it, even if we wont' admit it. And I'll admiot I dont' understand this flylady stuff. You dont' need ot clean your toilets everyday, dust everyday, and vacuum everyday. ONce a week is plenty. I think the reason so many of us get sick all the time is cause we think we have to keep everything so clean and antiseptic. We don't. If we never get exposed to germs, we don't develop a resistance to them, so we get sick when we do encounter them.

    Rant over, LOL

OH is home now, so off of here (cause the puter is on the dining room table) so we can have a nice romantic dinner tonight for his b'day.

Hope everyone has a good evening and an even better tomorrow!!
  • (((((hugs)))))) Queenie - don't beat yourself up, I'm sure lots of us post about the things we *have* done, rather than the enormous pile of things we *haven't* done, just to make ourselves feel better :D I know I do :o My life is so boring and mundane it's hardly worth posting about. My usual *routine* (if you can call it that) is get up, get ready for school/work, try and fit in ironing clothes and making packed lunches before we go, go to work, pick DD up from school, come home, try and do housework etc go to sleep, get up and so the hamster wheel continues...... every bl**dy day

But people like you give me inspiration, I don't sit and think god she must be wonderwoman, I sit there and think what a lazy moo I am, and I must pull my finger out of backside, rather than reading about recipes I'd like to try (and never do just 'cos I can't be bothered  ).

It's okay to feel bad (and post about it) - we're all here to help through the good times and the bad.

I sincerely hope you feel better about yourself soon.

((Queenie)) - we all have bad days (some more than others) but hopefully its just a 'one day' for you, and things will soon pick up. You seem to do so much for your friends, i hope they return the favour for you - if not, i hope all the virtual hugs from here will help make you feel better.

Has anyone heard from Penny Pincher? not seen her for a few days, so hope she is ok!!!

in honour of Queenies C.R.A.P day I have not done any ironing, I have not cleaned the house ( apart from a quick swish of the kitchen worktops ), I have not sorted out any paperwork, I have not baked ( but I am on a diet so baking in my house is banned at the mo ), I have not tidied ( much :o ) and I have not done any gardening.

thriftlady - enjoy your lovely yummy dinner of lettuce :D

Queenie - (((hugs))) tomorrow is a new day

Tea for me is chilli and rice (OH out), kids will try chilli (well DD will, DS wil refuse) and both hate it so am doing them quorn fillets and peas). Pudding yoghurt and fruit for them, muller fruit corner for me - got 2 to use up.. They've been 10 for £2 in Asda, at 20p each that must be about half price ? And soooooo nice.

    Had a busy afternoon:

Got stuff ready for DS swimming lesson, go back up to pool for lesson
Stopped en route from pool to bank to take DS to toilet in doctors surgery
Went to bank to deposit a cheque
Wrapped present for friend's new baby
Went to Post Office to get present mailed
Let kids play in mini park in shopping precinct for 20 minutes
Queued pointlessly in library as DS needed loo again (he drinks half the pool I think when swimming)
Library won't let us use their toilet had to run to grotty public ones - yuck
Put washing on inc all our swimming stuff from today
    Put away drying from earlier
Sorted out yet another squabble over who sits where on the sofa (they are doing my head in today)
Got kids clothes out of their rooms so I can pack later
    Put rice on for tea

Yay got hardly anything left to do tonight:
Tea, bath and bed for children
Get through an ironing mountain - will do in front of telly
    Pack
Wrap spare car seat (in binbags ready for flight) - we're planning to take a spare a friend kindly gave us and leave at Mums

Don't need to leave house til 12 tomorow so plenty of time to tidy up breakfats stuff etc and pack those last bits and pieces.

Have just sat down with lovely cuppa, am knackered and needed a rest before the onslaught of tea and bath and bedtime stories. DD went into her new room last night, its above the kitchen and we heard odd clunks from her cot so I thihnk we woke her up a few times, and she didn;t sleep terribly well. She's been in SUCH a bad mood today, all the fights between the kids have definitely been instigated by her. Was plannning to put her down to sleep for an hour after we got home from bank etc but she fell asleep on way to bank and then of course had to get her up to go into the bank so that was that sleep wise. Think I will skip her bath and get her to have an early night. Don't want a stroppy moo on the flight tomorrow.

ps eurgh just downed last of tea - it has gone stone cold :(
