morning all! I've been looking at restaurant reviews in London today; not sure why but it was something to do. Have also bookmarked a few.

Not much happening here; OH off to work in a little bit; cat threw up; I'm still Hopalong.

It's hi sbirthday too, today, so I'm making Nigella's 'roast' beef, yorkies, pots, etc and profiteroles for dessert. All on 1 foot.. LOL ......

I've got all day to get the yorkies and profiteroles done, then its a case of cooking the beef; won't take long. the recipe involves sticking the beef on a griddle and cooking it like a giant steak.

Wonders if I should make a sacue as well?? hmmmmm..... will have a think.

    Good morning everyone

Had a really bad nights sleep last night, saw every hour, so was up at 6, but instead of coming on here, i got a load of things done that i cant do during the day! Im just here quickly now while i finish my breakie, then im going to play building with the LO.

Have 2 LOs here today, and so far the weather is ok, mind you, did pop up to the school this morning to check about sports day (tomorrow) to find they have cancelled it completely this year, which is a shame. They are holding a coffee afternoon from 2pm this afternoon tho, to raise money for a new animal pen (DD is involved as she is an animal moniter). I cant go up until after 2.30, as one of my LOs goes then, but we will go and show our faces.

Had a lovely relaxing day yesterday (prob why i had such a bad nights sleep) watched a DVD with DD, made a lovely lunch of roast lamb and sat down and read my book in peace - it was lovely.

Today, is going to be mostly playing with the LOs and a little cleaning - prob while they are eating their lunch, as i can do the kitchen whilst they are in there.

Hope everyone has a lovely day,
    Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I hope you are all ok today. I haven't read through anything yet. We had a fairly good afternoon yesterday, the kids enjoyed it anyway. We got back later than anticipated and by the time tea, baths and bed were achieved it was raining so the patio was not done.

Oh fell asleep after tea and that was the evenings contribution from him. Since he had the virus he has become even more tired and is seriously looking at packing in work as he admits that even on light duties now he is finding it hard to cope.

Plans for today are to clean straight through, do all the mirrors including the mirrored wardrobes, wash the carpet in LO's room as he has spilt the potty a couple of times, turn the HM pasta sauce in the SC to a spag bol for tonight and a couple of large lasagnes for the freezer (the freezer needs restocking as I haven't felt like doing to much OS over the last few weeks). Do the patio wih the kids after school and when they are in bed tonight I will do the hall carpet, (ANY SUGGESTIONS FOR A HEAVILY STAINED CARPET VERY WELCOME - THANKS) the carpet cleaning stuff from vax hasn't touched it. And finally, hopefully  I have a pair of curtains to re-size and sew and very hopefully about half a dozen things that need mending.

I don't feel as upbeat today but figure that if I get my @ss moving I at least may feel that I have achieved something today.

hkitty.gif to all in need of one today.

Baby dozing. Ahhh.....so have some time to post on here. Yey. She's supposed to be weighed today, but she's got her review with the health visitor next week anyway. So there's a strong chance I'm going to leave it until then.

Not exactly old style....but ordered our carpets at the weekend. £1500 for the lot. My poor bank balance. And we haven't completed yet either so I just hope its all done by the time the carpets are due to be fitted. It is a good price though, and they guy (yes proverbial man with a van) who is doing it is well known to be excellent around the area. In fact he's the perfect guy if you don't want to make a decision because he'll tell you what you need. Perfect...saved me the trouble of running round in circles for weeks.

What is old style is I managed to get a stash of blackcurrants at the weekend from some bushes on my dad's land. There were loads of them...still more to get. They'll be added to my rubarb freezer stash until I work out what to do with them....

Hugs to those that need them and a big hello to everyone.

Wish I could get free fruit; I do have a pear tree now; We'll see how good the pears are, may make some mincemeat with them.

    Morning all,
Haven't caught up on all the weekend threads yet, so (((hugs))) to anyone that needs them.

Seem to have got over fluey bug straight into PP and associated backache. Not standing straight this morning! So much for thinking about digging the lottie :) Will have to take it slow today, so maybe just a little flyladying and such like, plus making chicken lasagne with the rest of yesterdays roast. Might get onto that big list I was going to do last week!

We had a lovely Saturday, visiting Stanway fete. This was held at Stanway house, where they have the biggest gravity fed fountain in the world! Normally you have to pay £4 to see the fountain but the fete entrance was only £1, and the fountain went off twice in the time we were there and it's pretty fantastice. As well as all the true-English village fete stuff we got to amble around the grounds, see beautiful views of the Cotswolds and get a little soaked in the spray as the wind moved! Plus the local cricket club persuaded one of their members to detour his Lancaster overhead when he was flying back to Fairford! So glad it was sunny!

OH and I did a Mr T run - I think I'm becoming an addict to moneysaving! He also stoozed a petrol voucher so I've got him into it too! But definately going to menuplan from it this time. Cats have loads of cat litter so we could get over the £50 hump for another petrol voucher - not like they won't use it! My girls go out to the garden, then come in to use the loo!

Going to take sore back to bath. Hope all are well.

Morning Everyone:D Welcome to the newposters!

Nice cuppa and naughty slice of coffee n walnut cake (curtesy of twink's mary berry) gosh thats such a fab recipe twink!:D
Have made that as mum's coming over today - also half way thru making a quiche for lunch - get abit fed up of sandwiches!

Kids made some fairy cakes yesterday, and also made chocy chunk muffins (cadbury chunks from sainsburys) - ooo they are soo much nicer than the normal choccy chips! :D Ive had abit of a bake up as I do get fed up of the prices of a silly box of cakes!

Well on mine and DH's day off sat we went to the Geffrey Museum in Shoreditch, then onto Southwark Cathedral, didnt bother going to Operating theatre as they wanted £5 entrance which i dontthink is worth it.
Had a walk round Borough Market - very nice - but used to be a proper market now its a "Trendy Market" with silly prices:rotfl:
Went to the pub and then dinner at Nandos (thought we'd try it) which was nice!

Mum & I are off on our "Family History Tour" of Southwark tomorrow - Going to visit some of the streets and mum can tell me all she remembers of when she grew up there. It was amazing the things i never knew she'd done and worked! Plus I said I would treat her to Pie n Mash Lunch at Tower Bridge Rd (Manze 1st Shop), where she used to go as a girl!:D she used to see Tommy Steele in there then! and I think Jim Davidson still goes there for his!

Maybe I should do myself a pearly outfit??? Nah thats going abit too far!:rotfl: :rotfl:

Off to finish my quiche, have a good monday all xx

    Good morning all.

Sorry, haven't read the previous posts yet - am just about to do it as soon as I hit the reply button!

We have had a lovely week in the Lake District - most days were sunny, but the last 2 were rainy, so can't complain. As we were in a very posh static caravan with all mod cons I have to say I was so glad we weren't camping in a tent. I can remember holidays which ended with rain on the last day & the "joy" of taking down a soggy tent is not something I miss at all!

Anyway, it's back to reality after all that lovely scenery & wonderful walks!

    Have a good day!

.... off to catch up with everyone's news now......
