Nicki - I hope your decorating goes well - we live in a similar age house and the walls are either so solid you cannot get a nail in anywhere or they crumble into nothingness. We resorted to having a whole wall replastered when we decorated our room. We really need to do DD's room but there is nowhere for her to sleep while we do, so that will have to wait until DS goes away in October.

Funnily enough we have the same problem here :rotfl: I am not replastering as its a rented house, however with the amount of filler I've put on the walls so far it would have been quicker and cheaper to replaster  Of course it would have helped enormously if whoever rewired the place at some point had not plastered over whatever wallpaper was on then causing the replastered bits to chip away along the edges causing them to scream their existance constantly so I'm trying to smooth those out a little by feathering the edge using filler before I wallpaper/paint.;)

We finished stripping the sitting area today :D There's still 1 long wall to go, but that involves moving a bookcase, the larder fridge, a drawer unit, a chair and other bits and pieces. So I started filling holes etc instead and then ran out of filler so I'm off out tomorrow to buy some more, and get the paint & wallpaper. Its taken me 3 hours so far to compare prices across 2 stores but I think I am finally done. As soon as my phone has charged I'm off to bed. Up at 6am so DD and I can both have baths before going out as well as get some other housework done. ;) No DIY tomorrow except some shopping.

Morning all :). Happy belated birthday to the little pinks Piggers.
Valli, well done on the car boot.
Lots of holiday prep going on by the sounds of it. Happy holidays everyone :).
Collected DS from scout camp yesterday. I'm currently on wash load no 3 of today! I need to persuade everyone to pick up all of their junk today and to put their clean washing away.
Some bits to put in the bin and then not much to do today. Might pop out to get some of DD's school uniform bits.
Need to scrub the bathroom as it's collected DS's scout murk.

    Morning all

It is pouring, never mind I have loads of indoor jobs to do. DH's birthday today but is going to be very low key as just back of holidays.

    DS1 awake, others asleep.

I need to put neighbour's rabbits out but will get drenched so may do before my shower, need to feed other neighbour's mogs too.

No laundry today, whites can wait until the rain passes I think. Shower room to clean and dusting to do.

Hibernating today as the sky is very dark and leaking wet stuff.

We are recovering from our smallest nephews visiting. I suspect we will be hearing of another ADHD diagnosis before long.

Airing cupboard emptied. Towels folded Skinty style.
    Ironing is in progress
    Bathroom cleaned

Glad your car boot went well Valli x

The week ahead has 2 hospital appointments and dentist for ds2. Need to also take him shopping for school stuff and trainers.

making headway in my bedroom -slowly but surely. Now I have cleared out some unwanted clothing I have a bit more room to put stuff away (I have a stash of bedding and towels for the Vallikids for Uni). I am also throwing out the ambitiously-named 'craft box' - anything useful has been salvaged for the sewing box (and there wasn't much), scraps thrown and the box itself, a layette box with a broken hinge, is to be binned. This means I can get the two pan sets (again Uni stuff) bought from Morries for the Vallikids in the cupboard!

Full time work this year has meant a lot of sorting etc has been deferred. Now, finally, I am getting around to it!

LW, please remember to eat with Mr LW.
Don't worry, we do have our main meal together, as we're both having the same thing. It's things like lunchtime sandwiches I tend to miss; he tells me what he'd like, I prefer something different, I get his ready and hand it to him, then think "Oh I'll just put the few bits through the washing up water first" and then "oh, I'll just do this wee task, and that 5-minute job" and before you know it, I've forgotten all about feeding me!:D

We've realised Jessie's going to run out of food before the end of her holiday; I've spoken with the service franchisee, and agreed that I'll get another bag of it from P£ts at H0me and he'll reimburse me. Obviously he'll have to get the money back from the owners, but it shouldn't be an issue; they'd have to buy food for her anyway.:o I've done a click'n'collect order, so I can just go to the cash desk and hopefully they'll have it there ready for me.:o

Well, enjoying a well earned brew......busy week in the Skint Ritz......looks more like a bomb has gone off outside and in.

Extra special thanks to DD1 who has had DS in with her 3 nights this week and dealt with the night terrors without waking me up ....meaning I have got upto 5 hours sleep in one night, so a bit more productive.

Major fling boogies have taken place this week and amazing amount of 99p plastics purchased to make things better organized.

Small cutlery drainer to house toothpastes, toothbrushes and small mouthwash bottles in the bathroom

A million and one cereal containers purchased....some for cereals and food stuffs other uses so far include:

    compost bin for recycling

portable rubbish bin room to room for fling boogies

secure destruction for one weeks receipts at a time (so if I do need to return something, I only have a weeks receipts to sort through instead of a great big crate)

umbrella stand in coat cupboard (weight down with shoe polishes, shoe brushes and deoderants to make it stable)

washing powder to pour more easily into the drawer

lined with scented opaque liners to make a discreet under
bathroom sink storage bin for Aunt Flo's unwanted monthly gifts

slightly larger container lined with different coloured liner for DD4 nappies

another cereal container holds all my hoover poles and attachments

Another new "favourite" purchase has been tension rods.....I now have one under the kitchen sink for a few trigger bottles I use on a regular basis, I have two in the understairs cupboard where I house the majority of my cleaning trugs for trigger bottles I don't use very often and spares.

No one shoot me down in flames.....but these uses were more sloblady than flylady:

I cable tied a shower curtain to a tension rod across the alcove to the garage where my "indoor shed" contains all the stuff for half finished DIY that have been there for 5+ years.....voila, I can no longer see the mess!

I then took a longer one upstairs and propped it between DD4's wardrobes that are currently being used for DVD storage will LR is being wrecked, pegged spare duvet covers to it, and bunged all the gibble that still needs to be rehomed behind it........it just looks like DS has been playing forts!

I then put another one in front of it to hang DD4's clothes on as I can no longer access her wardrobes.

I have two more to put up in the utility between the upright chest freezer and the wall, so I can hang shirts and such on hangers to dry off (as long as they are not dripping wet)

Cable Ties, I now have my own selection of brightly coloured cable ties, so as well as the shower curtain trick, I have now put matching coloured cable ties on dustpan and brushes so I instantly know which ones go together, then all brooms, brushes, dusters and mops now have coloured cable ties on them so I can hang them from from 4 lots of 5 key hook thing-a-me bobs.

Also have some pretty coloured k!lner jars which i have filled with some pretty aggregates that I got in a massive bag for a fiver, topped with neat samosa nappy sacks and AF sacks and topped of with a pretty sea shell.

All main BR cupboards have also been stripped back, shelving re-jigged and trugs and plastic trugs and chest of drawers installed.

I also got hold of some glossy black plastic A4 size magazine folders, these are perfect for putting dinner mats and coasters in, along with DD4's plastic floor mat for under her highchair

My new trug with squeezable fruit squashes is working well too, so very productive week.

If DD1 can cope with DS's night terrors for a few nights in the coming week, I might be able to finish organising all of upstairs.
The cold never bothered me anyway
