You have a real bee in your bonnet about Tesco. It's a bit sad ;)

    It's not just Tescos. ;)

And do what? Returning an object on the receipt? I did not do such thing.

    I didn't say you.

There was a thread a while ago about someone who was collecting discarded Asda receipts and checking them on the Asda Price Promise to print out money off vouchers. Needless to say Asda weren't very accommodating when they found out.

I'm not debating that it's wrong, but I think lifetime banning is excessive. I am considering appealing to shorten it to maybe 1 it 3 months.

Stick with the lifetime ban - no loss.

I'll be going to uni in September so won't be using the store for long :p

I found a trolley in the trolley with a receipt in it. It had 2 points on it. I went to the customer service with the discarded receipt to get the 2 points. And out swoop the security guard who claim it's' 'theft.' He took me to the back room and said that 2 points is considered the same offense as shop lifting and banned me.

I'm unsure whether it's theft. It's pathetic, anyway!

Not worth walking across the car park for two points.

It strikes me a life ban is rather an overreaction to something minor however how sad is it to go round the car park looking for receipts with two points on them?

I remember another thread a few months back, someone did this on a regular basis. Looked round car park, trollies etc for receipts to claim the points. Don't think it was Tesco??? But they got banned from the store.

But seriously who would want to claim 2 points from a receipt they found??? If in a trolly then it was still in Tesco property, whether left outside the store or not.

    >_> Only first time. I thought I could pick up a discarded receipt and claim it's points.

Well now you know that claiming the benefit of something that doesn't belong to you is theft. You've been lucky and are only facing a ban.

    No matter how many points.

It never ceases to amaze me how pathetic the so called 'security guards' are in supermarkets. From my experience the generally not the sharpest tool in the box.
