HE WASN'T CRIMINALISED!
The police were not called. The OP was not arrested, never mind charged, convicted and received a criminal rap sheet. He was invited to leave the store and banned from further entry.
SHEESH!

Yet another member who finds it difficult to understand the printed word.
"Would be" quite happy to see.
As in, he wasn't criminalised but some members "would be" happy to see that happen.
Please, you're annoyingly taking up web space.0 -

You still twisting the situation to fir your own argument. No-where does the OP say he was forced to go with security or man handled into a back room or that they refused any request he made to leave. As such, your now trying to say "taken" means force against his will!
These situations are best dealt away from the public as some people I presume would find it quite embarrassing to be caught out trying to defraud.
Oh dear, I thought I was only teaching you law and not also the english language!

Word forms: takes, taking, took, taken
(mainly transitive)
1.(also intransitive) to gain possession of (something) by force or effort

This is hilarious.:D
Would you please post up one, just one, conviction of a similar situation?
(ie similar= not limited to 2 clubcard points but up to 20 and you can also include a nectar card if you struggle to find a clubcard conviction)
In return, I'll direct you to thousands and thousands of real thefts and frauds.
What a hoot!:D0 -

Because the devil makes work for idle hands. As you know.
Also, perhaps, to express frustration that an initially mildly interesting thread has descended into silliness and petty point-scoring - to the benefit and furtherance of those who care only about having the last word (however factually-incorrect that final say might be...).0 -
What do you all think about the MBG on products ( slightly off on a tangent)
There are many people on this forum who claim money back whether they like the product or not.
In fact the forum seems to promote buying MBG products!
I do buy TMF products but would never lie about a product and say I wasn't happy with it just to get my money back0 -
I have tried to read as much of thread as possible.
I am not an expert in law and am no particular fan of Tesco but. Morally I think it is wrong. Tesco offer the points as a reward to the shopper who buys the goods. It is their choice to claim them use them or throw them away. In fairness to Tesco it is a fantastic reward system and happy or not so happy shoppers are encouraged to save points thus spending more and more in Tesco to get more an more points. Self perpetuating marketing !!! Got to hand it to them very good.
Finding them and then attempting to claim the points I think is wrong. They where not yours to claim. You are misrepresenting them as yours in that you are saying that you are entitled to the points because you made the purchase.
I do think that Tesco went a tad OTT. But in essence from what I can they did not see involve the police. No permanent damage was done. Instead as is within their rights they just asked the OP to shop elsewhere.
I am by no means as clever as some of you on the finer points of the law and some of the money saving tips I would never of thought of on my own but i think that it is really sad that MSE would endorse what in my eyes is tantamount to mis-representation.Happiness, Health and Wealth in that order please!:A0 -

When one has to explain to the "other side" the meaning of a simple, common, everyday word that even primary school children would know then of course it descends into farce.0
