wm on again
td on
just had visit from my mum bearing the biggest carrot cake for o/h as it's his b/d i'm sure he'll never eat it all;)
try to sorrt out the heaps of stuff kids brought home from school.good job i checked dd2 scool bag before putting it away for the summer there was the remains of a week old packed lunch:eek: that would have been nice by septLead us not into temptation...
just tell us where it is and we'll find it....0 -
I have one hour and fifty minutes until the children break up from school. I can't wait - no more packed lunches and no more getting wet on the way to school. It'll be nice having them at home for at least the first week, lol. Saying that, DD goes on brownie pack holiday for a week next week so i'll only have DS to entertain. First thing we're doing when they get home is painting a big sun on the patio window to cheer us all up. It'll be in poster paint so should wash off at the end of holiday. Oh, that means I won't be able to clean the window all summer. What a shame! Could I draw a sun on every window? xxJanuary budget

Morning everyone!
I have been letting the side down badly here, and haven't dared post although I've been reading the thread. I do have several very reasonable excuses...
Last weekend the gardening society I belong to had their big annual garden show, so there was quite a lot of work involved in that, and I was there most of the weekend. DS1 wasn't great at the end of last week and over the weekend, but making him rest in bed seems to have averted a full-blown 'episode'. (That is the term the doctors have used to describe what were quite frightening spells of either illness or 'not being at all himself'. Mmm. Not the word I'd choose!).
Monday and Tuesday I worked. Wednesday, woke up with really bad cold, and am only just getting rid of it now. So did nothing much except feel sorry for myself, and sneeze a lot. This morning had a very early start as DS1 had an MRI scan at 9am. Fortunately didn't take very long.
So today I have done just the washing, washing up and really must do the bathroom... I have also drunk quite a lot of tea and coffee, and read quite a lot of the forum. Must, must get off this computer and do something constructive! It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be0 -
Not seen hev around for a while. Just wondered how she was doing on giving up coke. I gave up three days after hers and have been absolutely fine accept in the last two weeks i've been really anxious which i've never felt before. I googled it and anxiety can be a symptom of caffeine withdrawal but just thought it was odd it only started several weeks in. Right, i'll stop rambling xxJanuary budget

Not much done here. The weather is just so miserable I can't really be bothered. I've S & Sd the kitchen and I've got vinegar soaked kitchen roll on the bathroom taps. Must remember to take it off later!
Dog had her hair cut this morningSo I watched Spendaholics and How Clean is your House. Research obviously.....
Oh, and I've got one load of washing draped round upstairs.0 -
Morning all
Another dreary day in our household. borderlakland - I'm in Norfolk to so can understand some of the things you are - like the rain AGAIN and the kids killing each other as they broke up yesterday. I have 1 week left before I may have to go back to work depending on blood test results and what doc says next week and while it would be nice to be at home with the kids, I dont think I would cope.
They are both miserable today as I have given them chore lists for the holidays, mostly some of the dailies and their own stuff. Do you think their lists are excessive :-
alternate days 1 child one day the other the next
S/S kitchen (ok wipe workstops)
S/S bathroom (wipe shower door and sink)
Mini hoover downstairs (takes 5 mins did it myself and timed it to show them)
Clear and wipe table
Load or unload dishwasher
Walk dog
plus every day
Make own bed
Tidy toys/stuff from downstiars
Tidy toys/stuff in own bedroom
Thats it! wont take them half hour and they're moaning especially DS (who usually is so good) about why it has to be done every day and why in the mornings. They expect me to do everything.
Well rest of today is probably going to be spent helping DD in an attempt to get her room clean. We have agreed to have a yellow/red card system like referees have. We each have a reversible card and if we either upset or make each other angry then we show the yellow card and give reason. If same continues then we get shown red card and have to take time out. Thats what I'm doing now red carded for upsetting her and throwing her PINK cd player away as it wasnt working properly - due to the fact a while back in a temper tantrum she stomped on it (even tho I replaced it with the spare one that was in old au pairs room!) She wants the pink one? The holidays are going to be heelish if we carry on like this.
Never mind, time out over will go and see if she wants help again.
See ya laterMortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!0 -
I was wondering about hev too, and the other regulars missing in action, hope they are not lost in clutter and all is well in the other Flybabe's houses.
Well think I will rescue this post from PAGE 2 !!!!
Kaz that list is not excessive, only small compared to what my boys will be, I'm still working on their list! They have over 40 boxes of books, toys and games to sort through. Tell your kids they can swap with mine if they like, I don't have a dishwasher so they'd be doing it by handI'm determined this holidays that I will be not running a hotel for DP, DSs and everyone else who turns up. Maybe as an idea suggest for every time they moan about it you will add an extra task
I plan to, I'm sure I will get much less fuss then! Oh you didn't add to bring their own laundry down/put own away, might be helpful.
LJD I actually enjoy the hols too, no stress of the school runs/getting them ready etc, restricted times and all that goes with it.
((hugs)) serena no need for excuses we all have lives too
Turtles gone back but tank is seriously bad with nitrate levels through the roof so couldn't buy fish, thank you cards bought and dropped off, bought some walking boots for me and DPok they are matching but were the only nice waterproof ones. Cupboard now upstairs. Bits and bobs shopping done. Charity shop stuff dropped off.
About half an hour before I have to go collect the boys, then that is no peace/quiet/time to dash abotu like a nana for the next 40 odd days, one of his LSAs said she'd been crying already when he told her he will miss her. Bless him.One day I might be more organised...........

It's hitting me that in 6 weeks time i will be preparing to go back to work. No idea where that year has gone.
I am going to be trying to make the most of that time, so for starters i am having a surprise date night with DH tonight. I'm going to do a nice meal with candles, posh dinner set, wine, flowers on the table, and we have a rental DVD to watch. He is working so hard at the minute and i know i take him for granted as he is a star compared to some people's DH's (thinking of the 2 on desperate housewifes this week).
Then, i am going to try and think of something nice for us to do as a family this weekend.
Charlie really enjoyed a walk to the shops this morning, talking to all the OAPs, and he was really well behaved at school, not too mardy to say there were so many people and it was hot. He did pinch a vegetable spring roll of my friend's plate, which was slightly amusing, and crawl along by grabbing onto everyone' shoes.
Anyway, going to wipe the dining table now, and have a bit of a kitchen sort so it looks welcoming for DH and he can relax and enjoy it.
Michelle, x0 -
Have a lovely evening Michelle. Sounds great, been a while since we did that.
Well the boys are home, DS1 came home with presents off the teachers (books his favourite thing) and the toy cat they've been using in one of the small groups he was working with. I did ask of he was allowed as he was saying had to get her home fast, but they said because he'd become so attatched to her and carried it all over he was allowed. He's also brought home all of his books from this year and photos of all the kids in his class, so I best find a box to keep it all in. Maybe tomorrow :rotfl: I'm shattered and still have things left to do, it can stay in the bag for nowOne day I might be more organised...........

Michelle.. what a lovely wife you are!! My hubby has a list of jobs to do when he gets in lol.
I gave the teacher at school our phone number and invited her over with her daughter any time she wants to come.. I said I promise not to talk about school and will show her my shoe collection... how jealous are you all ??? pmsl!! She was really grateful someone treated her as a parent and not a teacher first and was really pleased to be invited. I invited a couple of mums with children as well and mine were invited to several friends as well.. I usually only invite the older children though because they drive me mad otherwise. Anyway, we shall see if she takes up our offer.
Today I've had a rather productive meeting with the school and college DS1 attends.. outcome is.. he is back on the course providing he does the course work he needs to catch up on, they are giving me weekly reports on his progress and behaviour and we are having monthly reviews.. they are also going to define the protocols for 'issues' relating to behaviour and work too.. particularly because I whinged that they didn't bring up most of these issues until the very last day of term! I also made them aware exactly how annoyed I was by the whole incident!.. Believe me, I am not a force to be reckoned with when I am cross!!! Even hubby knows when to say 'yes dear' lmao!!
Flying.. I've done nothing!! I will load the WM's, TD and DW while doing dinner though.
We've obviously all been very busy with schooly things..
