am a bit worried :( as i've just been told i need to pay £80 for my sister's hen party (next april). its a trip to the grand national and 2 nights accomodation in a travelodge. its quite good for what you get but i can't afford to pay that out now. i'm not sure whether to say i can't go cos of the cost or to ask my mum to help out.

Rach, if it's something you'd really like to do I would beg, steal or borrow. Maybe you and your sis could come to an arrangement and pay each other's hen party spends. Assuming you'll be having one? She could pay your £80 now and you could give her £80 nearer the time of yours?

Well, I've mowed the lawn, finally finished the bathroom - except now I need the blind putting up. I'm really NOT going to do that myself. One washload out and another in the machine. Fingers crossed 'cos surprisingly the forcast is rain. Shocker!

Pigpen, that is a lot of £ for school dinners. Sure you (or the older ones) could make it for less.
    Kazmeister.. Ta:D

I've just realised that with coming home at lunchtime I've not eaten since 10 am and I'm ravenous. I might do some flying about once I've eaten.

Mattress vacuuming - like every task it's not a must do, entirely up to you if you choose to, it's recommended on many pest control sites to prevent bed bugs, when Moggins did the weekly thread someone asked why and she posted a pic of them and the advice on vacuuming mattresses, it definately made me do mine. Just google 'bed bugs' urgh! My son had asthma, used to be worse on a night, maybe just coincidence but he's not had a single attack at night since I started doing his.

Oh Li'l_me I wish I hadn't owned up about not doing it every week --- I knew you'd make me feel guilty. I promise I'll hoover the matress when I change the sheets next time. But I'm still only doing the oven, the windows and the gunky drawer if I can see a bit of a difference after I've done them. Please please please don't tell me I'll have bugs in my house if let the windows get just a little bit smeary. Slinks off, hanging head in shame.

No need to feel guilty, just gave the reason I do mine, each to their own a I've always said. Not sure I've ever even heard of window bugs :rotfl: I have to do the downstairs so often as the kids and dogs mess them up. Dog snot and sticky kid stuff, ewww!!

My oven only gets done if it needs it too, last week I only used it once since cleaning it as been using george and the slow cooker more so no way in knickers I was going to clean it. Just bought an oven liner from Kleeneze actually and it's been a godsend as the once I used it I spilt something, just pulled the liner out, wiped it and put it back in :D fab for messy cooks like me. Page 35 I think of the catalogue http://www.kleeneze.co.uk/main-book/index.html

Rach what a tricky one to deal with, personally I would be honest and say about affording it, especially as it needs to be in soooo far in advance for the event, maybe if you do want to go see if you can sort something out.

Thanks everyone for the recipes, C&Ped onto a word doc and printed out!

Well, I tidies PC desk and baked the cake, was lovely ( well, for me it wasn't but everyone else liked it ) made scones too as Hubby adores my fruit scones. Thats about it but I am so tired now! DS2 is in bed, DS1 is still running about outside, hubby is at his Mum's getting his present, I have a load of dishes to do, and since joining this thread, I have not once let the dinner dishes sit till next morning, and I don't plan on it tonight, but I'm so tired....

So, a wee half hour at the PC, build up the enthusiasm to move, then dishes, quick tidy and then a long soak in the bath with Potter.

Well done everyone who had got all their tasks done!

I have to say, this thread has been great, only been on here, 2 weeks, but my house is a lot tidier and its not such a HUGE task to keep it tidy, though still not done bedrooms  or ironing... or the old car... But everywhere that people see is tidy and neat and clean! LOL!!!!

btw, what exactly does FLY stand for?

    Fly is 'finally loving yourself'

    very corny.

Anyway, i've done a fair few little bits, was very productive while charlie napped this afternoon, just a shame it wasn't for a little bit longer cos i just sat down with my book and a cuppa, and he woke up. His room is so hot that it is stopping him sleeping. He didn't want to go down at 7, but a quick cuddle and he realised he was tired, and went down with a smile.

DH is not in again, although the dinner is smelling lovely in the SC so i may just eat without him if he can't get home for a reasonable time. Not planning on doing much tonight as i am still shattered, so try to have another early night and see if that will make me better. Big day going into work tomorrow with Charlie, as i am determined i want to see my old form as well as go to the staff do, so we would be there for a few hours.

I'm so hungry that i'm going to have to eat now, so hope you all have a lovely evening.

Have a good evening Michelle, hope tomorrow goes well, if it's anything like our school DS2s teacher came in to see the performance who is on maternity leave, all the children were so pleased to see her, as soon as she was spotted they were nudging each other down the line whispering she was there VERY loudly :)

My DS1s last day at this school tomorrow and I've forgot to get Thank You cards, must get them in the morning! Would be nice to buy them a present but with 2 teachers and 3 LSAs who work with him over the week, just can't do it.

    POST FOR TOMORROW NOW UP!!

lil-me i'm sure the staff who work with your son will appreciate the cards. As i said earlier, we don't always want a present.A well meant card/letter means more.

I was going to do some tidying tonight but only just got DS to sleep as he was crying because his teacher is leaving. Bless him. He's finally asleep and i've got a glass of wine and am doing nothing else. Night xx
    January budget
    Nothing left!
  • Quite right LJD enjoy it.
I have hoovered through and tidied all downstairs. Cleaned kitchen. Emptied and filled the DW. 2 loads of washing. Baked 2 gingerbreads and 18 fairy cakes and a loaf of bread. My room is spotless so no need to do that today. House reasonable TBH but working at keeping it like that. Worth it though to be sitting here in a nice sparkly lounge. xx
