Well at least someone doesn't. I had NEVER vacuumed the matress before joining this thread 10 days ago. I had turned it every 6-8 weeks. Each time you make the bed do you take off the matress protector and vacuum the matress? I don't think I can sustain this level of domestic intervention. However house is singificantly cleaner already and I've only been doing this for just over a week.
Thank you all for your encouragement

Eeeeeeeeeeeeek DS2 is Alan Titchmarsh in the leavers assembly tomorrow and has only just told me he needs a costume. Just phoned close friend who gardens even more than me and she has a big charity bag in a hall which will be in my hall tomorrow morning!

DS1 had a fab time at Thorpe Park but they only got on 3 rides. He is going again tomorrow for what seems a longer day so hopefully will get more turns.

Not had a great day. A mum at school stopped by to tell me that her hubbie had left her, he had been having an affair with her best mate (formally a very good friend of mine) for 7 months. Obviously spent the morning doing tea and sympathy. I find this sort of thing really unsettling and feel so sorry for all those being hurt.

Need to write the teachers letters now and will get the kids to do one after school each tomorrow.

Not really done any flying other than a quick hoover round. I am upto date with the washing/ironing. Nearly got all the school uniform and have even started the mamouth labelling task.

Will pop in at some time tomorrow x

Being knee deep in clutter and looking to chuck some of it, I found this thread to be a good motivation. Wish we had a three day weekend to give me some time, as working over forty hours a week, doing an Open University course, driving my elderly parents about on Sundays and making time to see my daughters and the Grandson takes some juggling. On a positive note I disposed of a set of encyclopedias last week, so thats 25 volumes less to worry about. Of course I still have a more up to date set on the shelves.

Good luck for tomorrow Aimee :)

I'm glad I'm not the only one who doesn't do everything (windows/oven etc) all the time. Some days I do lots and feel really good. Other days I do b*gger all! And I don't even have the excuse of young children. I'm just lazy.

I had a half lazy/ half productive day, it's been difficult this week for me too as my hubby is off work as well. It's bad enough the rest of the time as he finishes work before midday and from then my usefulness around the home goes right downhill unless I really force myself - but I have been enjoying doing stuff in the house lately.

My son had good KS2 SATs results all 5's and none in his school got a 6 this time around! I let him spend a pound on something he liked, he almost chose fruit which amazed me but he settled for sweets one of which was a semi healthy nutty bar. Daughter reckons her year 9 Maths SAT result was incorrect as she got 90-something out of 150 and graded Level 6 or as the teacher put it 'high level 6' which was lower than expected whereas one of her friends told her today that they got 68 for the same exams and got given a level 7. She's going to bring it up with her Maths tutor tomorrow. I hope she doesn't expect another cake if she gets her grade upgraded lol!

Sorrry I went for a nap at 6pm and just woke up so lists only just gone up now :o woke as I needed pain killers. Tooth is no better so pleased I kept that appointment next week with the dentist. DP put the boys to bed and just left me to sleep, didn't touch housework of course but can't have everything can we, saying that he has finished his little work area which should save me much frustration. Going back as soon as painkillers kick in. Did a tip run this evening and got absolutely soaked. Was good however as they didn't ask for my pass for the trailer as noone was about so saved that and rescued a box full of books and jigsaws for the school fayre that someone was flinging, also told her about www.dontdumpthat.com and freecycle :) I hate the thought of usable stuff being wasted.

Mattress vacuuming - like every task it's not a must do, entirely up to you if you choose to, it's recommended on many pest control sites to prevent bed bugs, when Moggins did the weekly thread someone asked why and she posted a pic of them and the advice on vacuuming mattresses, it definately made me do mine. Just google 'bed bugs' urgh! My son had asthma, used to be worse on a night, maybe just coincidence but he's not had a single attack at night since I started doing his.
One day I might be more organised...........

Hi all. You've all got so much going on . . . all this talk of school finishing up - ours have just gone back after a two week break.

I've been feeling really low lately, but really must get on! Life just doesn't stop because I don't feel like doing anything but hibernating, does it!

    Laundry - daily
    [strike] Walk Arsha[/strike]
    Get finances up to date
    Phone accountant
Phone Vet re dog food prices
Spend at least 5 minutes tidying each room of the house - Have done lounge
    Dust whole house
    Vacuum whoe house
Clean TV, other electricals and cabinets
    Wipe light switches
    Clean mirrors
    Tidy shoes, coats and bags
Vacuum under furniture (only if you won't hurt yourself doing it, don't want any injuries)

    Check fire alarms are working
    Change all beds
    [strike]Clean ensuite[/strike]
Clean main bath, toilet and sink
    Clear any clutter from desk
    Dust PC and desk
Wipe keyboard and mouse (these usually have more germs on than your toilet so important)
    Sort paperwork - 15 minutes
Job hunt for some extra work (OH has just picked up some night fill work - we want to increase our mortgage payments . . . )

Off to have some lunch, then jump back in again :)
