Got though all the paperwork on the desk today - hurrah! You had to have seen it to know what an achievement that was! I still have one crate of stuff left, but that should only take a few hours now. I'm going to run a wet cloth over the desk now that I can finally see it all.
Also managed 2 lots of washing which are now waiting to be put away once OH has finished the bedtime stories.
Stardrops has failed me! It doesn't remove Noddy bath paint from white grouting between tiles, even if you scrub had with a washing up scourer. I'll get some bleach on a toothbrush onto it later.
DD has had her first ever report from pre-school, it was glowing and the only thing that she didn't get top marks for was, wait for it, hopping! She needed help to do this, so I'm planning lots of physical activities over the hol to improve her coordination. I'm still not sure they had the right child not, she's not normally as quiet and helpful as they think!
Congrats, AimeeLister - hope all goes well, and don't trip over while you're remembering not to salute!
Now off to phone sis to arrange trip to visit her.You only get one go at life, so grab it where it hurts, shake it hard and get everything out of it you can!0 -

Good evening everyone,
I hope you've all had an ok day and are coping with the madness that is the end of term.
Pollybear: you are even more of a softie with your cat than I am. Ours has a sixth sense - she hates the hoover, and even if she is in a deep sleep will get up and run away if it comes into the same room as her. IIt comes in very handy when I need to clean somewhere.
Aimeelister: Have a brilliant graduation - make sure you get at least one of your photos to include the shoes!
I've had a bit of an uninspiring day - the funeral at lunch-time was very emotional and affected me more than I thought it would. She'd planned it all herself and it was made even more poignant by the fact that it was held in the same church where she'd first gone to Sunday school, had met her husband (at Youth Group) and got married. It would have been their 30th Wedding Anniversary next month.
However, the list:
Level 1
[strike]Check fire alarms are working
[/strike]
[strike]Vacuum floor in bedroom and on landing
[/strike]
Level 2
[strike]Remove bed linen and replace with frsh linen
[/strike] Flippin heck - that's 3 times in as many weeks. That has to be a personal record!
[strike]Dust surfaces & make sure no cobwebs[/strike]
Level 3
[strike]Vacuum mattress before replacing with fresh linen
[/strike] I even moved the bed and vacuumed under it - ugh!
Extra tasks list, as usual choose one or more- 27 fling boogie time, time for that midweek fling, go on grab a bag and clear that clutter
- [strike]Sort one drawer, making sure only what should be in there is, anything that's had it's day or doesn't belong there is removed [/strike] Paper-work from desk in hall filed
- [strike]Clean windows in these rooms[/strike]
- Clear any one hotspot
That's all for now folks,

PS Whispered question (cos slightly embarrassed at asking) how do I "thank" people for their posts - as it everyone seems to be doing it: and I'm not sure how to!0 -
If you look on the bottom of the post (right hand side) there are 2 boxes one says quote the other says thanks. Just press the thanks one0

Hiya
Hope everyone has had a good day. I've spent the day on the phone, playing catch up round the house and working. Typical day really. DD was in an end of term pantomime today which was really good. She's can be quiet so it was lovely to see her doing so well. House still looks like a bombs hit it and we've got guests round on Saturday night and all day Sunday so I really need to pull my finger out! On that note...i'm off for a bath, lol!
Speak soon xxJanuary budget
Nothing left!0 -

D'oh thanks shell! I was fixated with the buttons on the left-hand side (the "on-line" and "report this post" ones) and couldn't figure it out (I know I shouldn't be let on-line without a responsible adult)

Just doing a quick post before final kitchen sort out, a quick bath, and perhaps a chapter of my book in bed and an early night.
Have to just say that i second what grannynise said, and i also truly appreciate a nice card or letter, and i definitely always keep them. My favourite ones are where the kid has written a poem or drawn a picture in them for me as they put such a lot of effort in, and although i like the ones that say 'to a special teacher' i always know that the mum went and bought it and the kid just signed it.
My worst pressie was a really lovely vase that was cream on the outside and chocolate brown on the inside, and the kid dropped it on the way to school, and presented it to me still in lots of bits. I made out i would be able to stick it back together with glue, but it was a lovely expensive vase, and i'm afraid i could only put it in the bin. What a waste!
Anyway, i am going to go 'off list' again, staying with you lot for the motivation, but producing my own to-do from what i know i need to do, as i keep losing motivation when i don't get much done. Will see how that goes for me.

Well I don't vacuum the mattress every week. And I don't clean the windows every week, or the gunky washer drawer, or the oven or or or ... But then I probably am a mucky mare. Sorry Li'l_me. I think if it looks absolutely fine then leave it, a rule I apply to most of my life actually.0 -
