Rock buns.... DISASTER!!!!
Thanks for posting the pic - made me smile, some of my culinary experiments are just as good! Everyone still manages to eat most of them, though.
Break it up into separate pieces and tell everyone they are special lighter than air rock bun (pumice buns?), and I'm sure they'll go, ermm, like hot cakes:DYou only get one go at life, so grab it where it hurts, shake it hard and get everything out of it you can!0 -
tiamai just follow the lines, I would, mine will not doubt turn out the same when I have a go.
I'm not baking until I can eat itcurrently living on squishy food like cottage pie but warm ish as my teeth going crackers with anything hot/cold. No chance I am going to spend all day baking in this heat and not be able to eat it! Selfish sod aren't I :rotfl:
Oh and a grrr!! kids just gone to sleep, little devils up and down like yoyos all night, must be the weather! One day I might be more organised...........

LOL.. I know most of the gossip anyway I have exceptionally good hearing.. I'd be telling the teachers lol. USUALLY .. I invite the parents over as well.. especially if the children are quite young.. these are reception age so only 4/5/6 so it wouldn't be something I wouldn't normally do.. I have my little bizarre behaviours and this is one of them.. until the children are happy with me I would prefer parents to stay... I'll ask them.. they can say no if they wish I guess.. I cfertainly wouldn't be discussing other children or parents though because I wouldn't want them to talk about me!! Knowing me we would end up talking about fund raising ideas for new play equipment!! lmao!!
PMSL... hubby almost killed himself on the cat.. he (cat) was laid on the stairs and hubby stood on him.. ROFL... that would have been a good one to explain in A&E.. what did you do? Well.. I stood on the cat and slipped on his silky fur and fell down the stairs!!! Evening,
big thanks for all the congratulations, mother and baby are doing well. Been on the phone to her bedside for ages as shes alone (no visitors) now, and needed to chat about the day, ("patientline" phones are a great idea but costs 49p peak/39p off peak per minute!!) not looking forward to my bill next month-worth it though!!
Took DD age 3 to hosp to give sis and new arrival a balloon and was told "shes under 5 and not allowed in" she was devastated, heartbroken, soooo looking forward to seeing her cousin and she wasn't allowed in the ward!! How to explain that to a 3 year old!! Major tears, promised we'll visit them at home soon.
I had such a laugh with the "rock cake and the foot/hand thing!!

Had a very busy morning going to all the clothing and charity shops in my town. Didn't get home till midday, with some new shoes (unworn from charity!) and a new skirt - glad cos I have holes in my hush puppies and these are so comfy. Ooh just found their website and they are usually £52 but I found them being sold for £8.99 - I almost had the cheek to ask them to drop the price, charity shops really bug me that things can seem expensive but I will be wearing these for a year or more so it's a bargain. Here are the ones I bought, I see they are a good company no wonder they are comfy. I don't expect they are everyone's cup of tea but I like mary janes lol - don't normally go for wedges though:
Consequently all I have managed is keeping the kitchen nice and tidy and a few minor jobs. Here goes with my list for tomorrow:

morning one and all(she says bleary eyed)can't remember last time i got up at 5am:eek:
ds1 of on his trip to alton towers.they were leaving the school by 6 so there was loads of over excited kids and several bleary bleary eyed teachers(rather them than me)ds2 and dd2 going to the local dinosaur park for their school trip so just been making packed lunches.
spose i should use the extra time i have as up so early to fly but i don't want to wake the others up...good excuse meaning i really can't be ar###d.:o so i think i'll just have another cuppa and browse on the good old tinternet:DLead us not into temptation...

Good morning everyone,
I hope people's sore throats and teeth are feeling better this morning - if not, keep taking the ice-cream and painkillers.
Aimeelister and pigpen, remind me - why do we have cats (or is it why do cats deign to come and live with us) is it just to give us a little extra challenge in life? Our cat is 14 and my dad is 88 - and both aren't as sharp-sighted or as nimble as they used to be, so when they are both in the house it is an accident waiting to happen!
Shell2001 - thanks for reminding me I have a jar of mince-meat to use up, maybe I'll give DH a treat and make some mince pies or something at the weekend.
Not much to report here, I have a funeral to go to at lunch-time (a colleague's wife - she battled with cancer and managed to out-live her original prognosis by four years, but it's still a shock). Then the rest of the day will be sorting paper-work and cupboards, plus making a big batch of chicken stock.
I'm actually looking forward to today's list as the bedroom seems almost to be under control!
Have a good day everyone,

Morning all :hello:
Busy day here for me today as DD breaks up tomorrow, we're going away first thing Friday and I haven't done any flying or finished the logbooks
So far I've sorted out some homemade hobnobs for DD to take to school (They're having a party today to celebrate Liverpool's 800th birthday _party_ ), made packedlunches, made beds, S&S bathroom, put 1 wash load in and got DD ready for school - she's currently sitting reading Harry Potter again :rotfl: So I'm about to go and wash the dishes (the bane of my life...I long for a kitchen where I can have a dishwasher  )
Todays list :- Dailies
- Ebay parcels to dispatch (25 in total, thats 5 trips to the post office otherwise the grannies will start lashing out with their zimmerframes  - no offence to grannies
)
- Log books - 2nd priority
- Laundry (including ironing)
- House blessing, I can always clean it properly next week while DD is away
- Tidy up right through THOROUGHLY
Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0
