Dishes are done, ebay parcels are all dispatched (except for the one I'm waiting payment on) and the log books are done :j:j:j I'm just scanning in one last little booklet about teachers salaries from 1920 and then I'm going around to the school to return the books and waste time until DD comes out at 3.15 :D Now all I need to do is work my way through my library books and the books I borrowed off my mum and I'm caught up with everything :D Except the housework so I think I will adopt this sign and put it in my window : House20was20clean.jpg

Right, thats the scanning done so I'm off to put DD's desk back and then I can head off to school

Hello all, last day at work this week, yay! Got a day off tomorrow as we are having a party tonight and then everyone is assembling at mine for a proms in the park type event we have at College every year to mark.... Graduation on Friday!!! YAY!!! I cant wait to go prance over the stage, remembering DO NOT SALUTE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE (that was how it was written in our instructions yes, bigger font and bold and capitols....) i mean like i was going to. Then i am officially a Dr of shooting things quietly!!!

I have about 50 people staying in my house tonight so it has needed to keep slightly tidy. Popped home at lunch to do the bedrooms so they look good. Hoping everyone will be tipsy tonight and not notice the bathroom isnt spotless and if i get up tomorrow before everyone and have a shower and clean it all will be sorted!

    Wednesday, Master Bedroom & Landing

    Level 1
    [STRIKE]Check fire alarms are working
Vacuum floor in bedroom and on landing[/STRIKE]
    Level 2
Remove bed linen and replace with fresh linen - parents arrive to stay in my bed tomorrow so going to change it for them tomorrow
    [STRIKE]Dust surfaces & make sure no cobwebs[/STRIKE]Level 3
Vacuum mattress before replacing with fresh linen - as above
Extra tasks list, as usual choose one or more
    • Clean windows in these rooms - did on Monday, not that you would know now there are kitty smear prints down the outside as she tried to escape....

So have a lovely rest of the week (or a better rest of the week as applicable in some situations) as i probably wont be on again what with everything going on.

Well the mince pies did not kill me off, and very nice they were too. Had huge argument with DH last night over nothing in particular, I would just have appreciated a bit of considerations as I felt rough, like being offered a cup of tea after making tea and helping him do the dishes! Last time he felt rough he took to bed for 3 days! Rant over.

Not done much flying today. Done the dailies so everywhere S & S, hoovered through. I thought I would mow the front lawn and do some weeding this afternoon, glad I did now as just put everything away and it is bouncing down again. I am sooooo sick of this weather.

The littles and I made some jam tarts with coconut meringue on, very nice. Will see what DH thinks when he comes in as its something he used to have in his childhood.

Oh look rain gone now brilliant sunshine in the space of 3 minutes!

Ooo-errr.. that was an easy catch up of today's posts.. what happened?!

Pollybear, I'm glad I'm not the only one who tiptoes round the moggies. I did the exact same thing when I changed my bed at the weekend.
I like this little motto. A dog thinks ' you home me, you feed me, you love me. You must be a God'. A cat thinks ' you home me , you feed me, you love me. I must be a God'. Quite.

Aimeelister, (while you can still read) have a fab party and graduation!! mind how you go on those shoes!

The novelty of the new bathroom floor fitting is wearing off. I spent over an hour last night trimming 5 tiles. Gotta get it done tonight or it'll appear on my To Do list in September.
Having a serious panic about money today. Car tax and major service due in August plus a big glut of family birthdays. Fingers crossed that 4 months of expense claims appears in my pay..

Quick fettle of the bedroom, then bash on with this floor, make supper, watch 2nd part of Waking the Dead, bed. Get up and do it all over again. Told you on Sunday I'd need a rocket up the whatsit by Wednesday. Low optimism mid week.

Anyhow, hope to catch up later. Have a good evening if I don't.

    Evening everyone.

Well I'm with you on the rant shell. OH pi55 ed me off at tea. I spent all day apart from the school runs and the 1 1/2 hrs asleep making fish cakes for tea tonight. DD sits down and wants ketchup with them. Now normally I wouldn't mind but nearly all day making them with the lovely delicate flavours of chilli and coriander with sweet chilli dipping sauce and she wants ketchup so I told her not to have ketchup and to try them on their own. Mmm lovely she says - dad can you open the ketchup for me (new bottle). I dont think you need ketchup with them says I. I think she should have what she wants with them says OH. GGGrrrrrrrrrrrr     Why dont I just serve them up bl**dy noodles in a pot to have with ketchup.

Rant over so need to sit down here for a while as so full up and not with ketchup. Cant even clean the kitchen feel so fat at the mo. 1/2 hour maybe.

Anyway very little done as doing the above and cant seem to get anything done when OH is at home. So abandonment on cleaning our bedroom again, not even a hoover as can hardly see the floor. So change beds at the weekend and hopefully do better tomorrow, although we have said if its fine we'll go out on the bike as will be last chance as kids break up tomorrow.

What would your report say re flylady cleaning - mine would read STARTS WEEK REALLY WELL THEN GOES DOWNHILL BY WED !

Got not a lot done today, as Charlie was awake all day apart from a half hour when i had lunch. He also seems to have an accelerated digestive systemtoday from the number of nappies i changed, and my sister wanted to lay him on my neohews bed, which he was then sick on,plus some of the toys she had on the bed. At least i don't have to wash it all.

    Achieved:
    • swept up crud in living room from DH's work boots
    • took charlie to playgroup - won the raffle, and picked a friction train, which i think can go in the present cupboard as he has far too many toys to start with
    • wiped up all the dairylea handprints that charlie left on the porcelain in the bathroom, and i mean it was everywhere.
    • played with charlie with his cars

planning on quick cook fresh pasta with a simple tinned toms and chopped veg sauce, when DH decides to come home. It's been 8 or later all week, and then him doing paper work on the evening. At least it has given me time to read my harry potter 4 book.

aimeelister hope you really enjoy your weekend. Congrats

pigpen - you've probably already decided about your play date but in case you haven't I'd say ask them. Several of my staff have also been parents at the school and I'm not aware that it has ever been a problem. I'm lying actually, I've just remembered one quite mad mother who was always phoning teachers she knew socially with bizarre requests.... but you wouldn't do that. I'd try to steer away from school topics though as it could be awkward for you and them. Just share your shoe addiction with them.
Can I recommend mango ice cream for your throat? It's worked for mine.

The leavers' performance was lovely, full of Aaaaahhh bless! moments. The only thing that spoiled it a bit was parents turning up late to [STRIKE]see[/STRIKE] miss seeing their children. One family turned up, with the child who was supposed to be in the play, 40 minutes late and then were very cross that I wouldn't let him join his class on the stage. Poor little thing was so embaressed he didn't want to go in at all but they'd been robbed of their kodak moment. No particualr reason given for being late .. just that it was difficult to be on time.

What happens at your children's school about latecomers to performances? Am I the devil incarnate for expecting that if we say starts at 6.30 you'd be there at 6.30 ratherthan 7.10?

Just to keep my work hat on for a moment .... letters to teachers (and head teachesr!) are appreciated hugely, you really don't need to buy presents.

Aimeelister --- bang bang bang SSSSSHHHHHHH fortomorrow. Take care in those posh shoes.

Better go and do a bit of flapping now.
