    Pub or flying????........

    you mean there is competition??????

I feel like I have done nothing today..

Lil_me.. I have already bought most of the childrens uniforms for September.. just need sweaters for DS2, PE kits for DD1 and DS2 and shoes for everyone, trainers/plimsolls for most.. DS3 is wearing shoes with BIG holes in the soles... I feel like SUCH a scrote sending them to school in them.. but tough. A couple of them need new bags and I need to buy coats for DD3 and DS2 as well... then we are sorted!! THEN!!! I get to sort the dance gear and see who needs new dance shoes/leotards/bags etc... THEN.. I get to start the christmas shopping properly!!.. Must update my lists!!

Being a luvverly big sister I have just loaned my youngest sister the deposit for a flat.. she is desperate to get out of our mothers house and the flat apparently is really nice, in a good area and not disgustingly priced.. but the bond money is a fair bit.. so I have given her it as a loan and we will discuss repayment when she is settled.

Becca... plum pudding?? Could you dry some?? copious amounts of jam and give it to friends and neighbours and sisters overseas as a gift?? (I'll take 10 jars please!!) wait until they are mushy and throw them at PITA neighbours??

    Question of the day.. lol

My 2 girls are good friends with the daughter of one of the teachers at school.. would it be terribly butt-kissing to give said teacher my phone number and invite her over to play during the school holidays??? She has no siblings to play with and gets on really well with both DD3 and 4.. and the teacher is pretty lovely. Also one of the nursery teachers has a daughter the same age and a brother the same age as DS3 I was thinking the same with her... we could have a school gathering almost lol.. anyway.. is it not acceptable to do that?? We are inviting other 'friends' of the children over so it isn't like it is only teachers we would invite.. there are mere mortals too.

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Just remembered I promised to make cakes for the beavers party tomorrow night and there are about 25 boys! I'm working all day tomorrow so have just put the first batch of cakes in the oven.

My house is going to pot again so i'm sticking to the list rigidly from now on before I start to stress again!

    Hugs to all xx

How smart is Your Right Foot? Just try this. It is from an orthopedic
surgeon............This will boggle your mind and you will keep trying over
and over again to see if you can outsmart your foot, but, you can't. It's
    preprogrammed in your brain!
    1. WITHOUT anyone watching you (they will think you are GOOFY......) and
while sitting where you are at your desk in front of your computer, lift
your right foot off the floor and make clockwise circles.
    2. Now, while doing this, draw the number "6" in the air with your right
hand. Your foot will change direction. I told you so!!! And there's nothing
you can do about it! You and I both know how stupid it is, but before the
day is done you are going to try it again, if you've not already done so.
Send it to your buddies to frustrate them too.

Pigpen, know what you mean with uniforms, I have to get DS1s new school uniform from the school in the next 3 days and it still hasn't come in yet!! Starting to fret a little as he will not go without it I don't think.

As for the friend's, if the girls are friend's then I'd say it doesn't matter if the parent is a teacher or not, hope people don't look at it that way with my sons when I eventually qualify!!

Holby is finished so I best go and do something :( Oh darn need to get the trousers out of the machine for DS2 tomorrow, he has to wear black ones for performance and they are the only decent ones he has left in black.
One day I might be more organised...........

Evening all. If it makes anybody out there feel better (especially you lurkers) then I have not done any of the list today except for the extras I put on myself!

Pigpen if you are talking about just the kids coming over then I think it is fine, or did you mean for the teachers to come over for a cuppa aswell? If that is the case then I have no idea but would expect that some teachers would feel uncomfortable with that but not being a teacher I do not know.

Hope to do better with the flying tomorrow but only doing level 2 now for a while due to lack of time.

    See you all tomorrow x

Pigpen - i'm sat here drawing number 6s, that's made me laugh, thankyou.

Can I substitute the juice of an orange for the juice of a lemon to make orange flavoured icing instead of lemon flavoured? Just wondered if it would go weird or anything?

    Jam bun/tarts look lovely!

Rock buns.... DISASTER!!!! I ran out of SR flour and improvised by adding baking powder to plain flour, and I may have added a little too much... I shall post the results when done....

OMG, it looks like a pie!

    Picture040.jpgI claim its flapjacks....uhm...

LD1, keep tasting it, lemon juice is a lot tarter!

Pigpen, I don't see why not! If its just a play date who cares what their parents do for a living.

I'm giving up for the day while watching CSI. I've a really sore arm, probably from holding Charlie up while i do things. Tomorrow is a day out, so i may not even post a list, so i will see what i can do without. Not holding that much hope out though.

    Tuesday 17/07:
Manic Monday - Kitchen and Dining Room
    Level One
    [strike]Clean floors[/strike]
    Level Two
Clean cupboard door fronts and the front of appliances
Sort fridge bringing what needs using soon to the front
Dust any extra furniture in dining room, checking for cobwebs on way round
    Level Three
    Wipe dining table
Wipe window sills, clean any marks off windows if required
    Extra Mission
    Choose one or more of:
    • Clean out the freezer, I find the vacuum cleaner is good for getting up any crumbs in the bottom or stray peas etc. Defrost it if it needs it.
    • Sort through one cupboard, emptying it, wiping it out and wiping items before putting them back i'm going to class this as the toy box, as i have emptied out the plastic box, decided what toys to put upstairs for him to play with, put the rest in the new toy box, washed out the plastic box, put the stuff back in there, used another box to put my knitting and sewing stuff in, so gradually we are looking smarter.
Tuesday Living Room, Hall and Stairs
    Level 1
    [strike]Vacuum floors and sofas [/strike]
    Level 2
    Dusting, even if around everything
[strike]Remove clutter making sure stairs especially are safe [/strike]
[strike]Clean TV[/strike], other electricals and cabinets
    Level 3
    Wipe light switches and banister
    [strike]Tidy shoes, coats and bags[/strike]
[strike]Vacuum under furniture (only if you won't hurt yourself doing it, don't want any injuries)[/strike]
    Extra Mission:
Pick one or more of the following tasks –
    • [strike]Clear one hotspot, or just spend at least 5 minutes tackling it [/strike] magazines now in new rack
    • Clear one shelf, dust and replace items after giving them a wipe over
    • Clean windows in these rooms, or even just one
    • Using the idea Shirley suggested, get yourself a bag or box, go around collecting things that are not in the place they should be, then put them back where they should be.
    [strike]Deal with post [/strike]
    [STRIKE]Make bottles[/STRIKE]
    Wash cushion covers
Take bag of stuff to charity shop
    Buy a loaf of bread

    extras:
    • nappy bag refilled for going out tomorrow, just need to put in food in morning and a change of clothes and PJs
    • load of baby bibs washed
    • read Saturdays newspaper finally so that went in the recycling.
    • read about 120 pages of Harry Potter 4 - determined to re-read them all before the new one at the weekend
    • cardboard boxes from delivery put out in garage

Pigpen - invite the teacher over by all means, if she's uncomfortable with the idea, she'll say 'no', and if she's OK with the idea she might appreciate being treated as on ordinary mortal for a change. Bet you'll also get loads of gossips about other mums and kids too!

AnW'sMum - know this is too late to help, but I think the tooth fairy ought to be called Dentitia (pronounced Dentisha). What the heck, if we have a DD2, I might suggest it as a name to OH for a joke!

Shirley Park - glad you got custody of the rats. It's hard enough when you separate, without having to give away your 'babies' too.

Sorry to hear about all the other problems people have going on right now, have a big squishy *hug* from me if you need it.

My flying has been mainly filing and sorting out old paper work today. I've managed to end up with a couple of crates of bank statements, magazine, old letter, etc, to sort out, mainly because I'm a rampant hoader, who prefers to have fun to filing away paperwork, and who has two sprogs who are less than 2 years apart. Anyway, I realised a while ago I had to grow up, as I have so much extra going on in my life now with the children, that I can't afford to be searching through piles of old paper work to find bank account details or phone numbers any more, I already have too much stress for that! I've got another waste bin full of stuff to go into the recycling bin today. Yesterday I got 10 bin bags of old clothes and curtains collected by a charity collection, so I can see some floor in my garage - whoo hoo.

Unfortunately, hols start next week, so I shan't have my Tuesdays of filing and flinging to look forward to until the start of the new school term.

I did manage to get a couple of loads through the WM today, and may go and stick another one in just for the heck of it. Also changed sheets in master bedroom, I know it's ahead of schedule, but sometimes these things have to be done!
You only get one go at life, so grab it where it hurts, shake it hard and get everything out of it you can!
