    Dear Diary and MSE Friends

    Well I'm sitting here :mad::mad: as a hatter !

I've been grumpy all week, mostly down to PMT but I suspect other things as well.

Over the last two days I have been completing 3 years worth of my self employed accounts so that I can complete my tax return.... Finally done 1 hr ago :T. I thought I am on a roll lets complete my SA electronically.

Then  I clicked on my electronic March payslip from ex employers to find I couldn't access it. So I telephoned them, I got Mrs Unhelpful, I'm hoping they are sending out a paper copy of my P60. Otherwise I can see a long drawn out struggle.

So why am I grump? Between you, me and the gate post ....

    1. Parental In laws have declined Xmas day invite, in preference to Royals at Sandringham, now expect us to put a day aside in December and organise them and us to see brother in law and family. This is not easy as they really don't like spending too long with parental in laws. Parental in laws usually stay at ours as its a 3hr long journey eek:

    2. Father has asked me to go shopping in Portsmouth so he can buy me half price Uggs, which is a lovely gesture but the thought of the large shopping centre and the 3hr round trip ..:eek:. He keeps telling me I will love all the shops..... He has forgotten what it is like to have no money, he had a poor East End childhood and went to night school to gain qualifications. Although I grew up in a lovely house and area, I also new we scrimped and saved to pay mortgage etc. Now retired and single he is comfortably off and has forgotten about doing without. :o

    3. We are going to a dinner dance tonight and I feel fat, and frumpy. I have yet to try on a dress to see if it fits. I know why I am fed up.... Period has started so hormonal, and when I use to go out on these occasions I would treat myself to some pampering to start everything off.... Hair, waxing, nails etc..... And I'm sitting here with my eyebrows needing doing, my fringe needing cutting and plan nails. (I can't do them myself shaking right hand. ) and so I feel miserable. OH asked me yesterday when I was having my nails done and today eyebrows when I said I had no money in my pocket money account ( see sig in red!) it was met with silence. :(:(. He has had a new shirt and had it altered from the housekeeping account ! I can't begrudge him as he's bringing the money in. My one and only pair of tights has a large run in them ....lucky it's a maxi skirt.

    4. I feel crap and I am not earning and my debt has gone up (new winter coat) rather then down despite paying off £44.00

    5. I miss my Mum.... Her name was read out in church on All souls Day this week.

    6. OH just not getting me at the mo... And I keep moaning at him.

    7. Want to go on a small course and my professional conference to network etc, not sure where money is going to come from.

    8. Lastly our Christmas weekend in London which we have done every year since we met has been canceled due to lack of funds. :(:(:(. I love Christmas and the glitz fun etc, and this injection always gets me through the quiet Christmas just me, OH and my 79 year old Dad. I dream of having that family Christmas you see in the M&S ads! Laughter, merriment, loads of people round a table. With our situation this year I feel really downcast.

Sorry folks I'm missy feel sorry for myself..... Thanks for letting me share

So I tell my OH how I am feeling...... Fat, frumpy, laddered tights, bushy eyebrows, etc. He just says Oh, and silence I leave the room, he is carrying on getting ready, I am just sitting here wanting to cry and curl up underneath the duvet.

I'm not sure how I'm going to face the world tonight

  • One of them days :-(

ALways seems like paying off debts leads to a feeling of guilt over everything you need/want. My partner feels down if she runs out of make-up. There are lots of deals around at the moment - find yourself a bargain :-)

  • I hope you found something to wear which you liked, went out and are having a fabulous time. I feel like that often, it's not fun. You need to factor in some pampering, even if it's just having a bubble bath and a defuzz at home, something to make you feel a bit more special. Can OH help you paint your nails?

You get 2 stars when you reach a certain number of posts, can't remember how many sorry :o. Xx

Oh BM I really feel for you :( I hope you ended up having a lovely evening despite everything. You echoed just how I feel with the Xmas M&S scenario. I suspect the minority are actually having this type of Xmas. Just like you I have always longed for that type of everyone round the table Xmas but have never experienced it. So you're not alone. Just feel like giving you a big hug!
