I think we are developing a collective mind - I jotted a few things down this morning and then find echoes of it in your posts.

NSD. Quiet day - downstairs at silly o'clock after not enough sleep to wait for parcel collection (put a note on the window asking for time to get to the door). Relieved to be able to get back to bed as I couldn't get comfortable on the couch - though was drifting off.

Did some tidying in the dining room went I went to get lunch. Little afternoon nap. Shed sorting - have a 3 page list of things to sell/ give away. lots of measuring.

Fmess how did you manage to give me lurgy over the internet. Made a cc payment (2nd this week). Not deducted from my total as it will cover interest payments (usually allow for this but not counting it anymore until the statement comes).

Today I am grateful for hm lamb stew (not one of my best but warm and comforting), that I managed to dodge the rain 2 days on the run and for lavender - brought the basket up with me and smells wonderful (even with a blocked nose).

Really quick check in as I'm struggling to stay awake.

Exercise day today but also a spend day. I took lunch into work but had it eaten by 9.15am so had to buy something else. Also posted a parcel as one of my eBay items sold last night. The other didn't sell so it's been relisted.

I need to get petrol tomorrow so won't be a SFD. Also off to London with work tomorrow, hoping anything I need to buy can be expensed but time will tell.

Thank you for all the get well messages :) You are a lovely lot :)

Sorry I gave you my lurgy mothernerd :( The wonders of the internet ;)

I'm feeling much better today so alternated resting on the sofa with jobs. Posted eB4y item and had to buy bread for OH, so a spend day.

Walked the dogs for exercise but don't count this in my total.

Sorry if I've missed anything these past few days.

  • Good Morning Chicks...

I am very tired this morning. Got home at and into bed at 0000 from seeing friends ( which was a right hoot ) and was up again at 0500. Like deja vu being at that stupid train station so early...

Despite ingesting some caffeine I still managed to accidentally drop my bra into the toilet when I was getting changed this morning.

I am now sat bra less in my office. Not that it makes a difference..;-( Although I have other clothes on over the top....lol!

    Back soon after noms.

If everyone could keep their fingers crossed for my little car which is in for MOT/Service today, that would be much appreciated! Today will hopefully be a spend day - if MOT can be done with not too many problems, otherwise it will take longer and may have to go on the CC if over my savings - really hoping not. Still, it's good to have something saved, which I never have before, all thanks to MSE.:money:

    Have a good day all.

    Morning guys.

I had a spend day yesterday. I took the kids for a day out by train, we were going to visit a castle but they have both been twice before and just wanted to look around the lovely town and the market. We had a cheap lunch in the woods behind the castle (gorgeous woodland and never new it was there) then got the train home. All the spending was budgeted for and we now only have £2.49 left from this weeks school holiday budget so hopefully today will be a SFD, except it won't I have to do a grocery shop:mad:.

Today I need to collect two books from the library, they reserve them for free which is fantastic, they are both for DD, one is the third Hunger Games one and I can't remember the other one, she doesn't quite get it though because if she loves the book she buys them from a CS when she sees them.

    Good moooooooorning, threadgoers.

Sorry about the lack of posting... a heap of bleh stuff happened which coupled with work (where more bleh stuff happened), I basically came home, ate homemade rainbow cake and promptly fell asleep to my OH telling about some game he is playing.

Anyways, a bit random for a start:
Completely gutted about Robin Williams. I loved him when I was younger. Aladdin was my favourite cartoon, Mrs Doubtfire and Jumanji were two of my favourite childhood films.
It reminded me that anyone can suffer from depression and even those that seem incredibly happy on the outside can be battling demons on the inside.
I hope everyone here is okay and if they do have this fight are continuing to battle it and win every day.
    Hugs.

Thank you for all the lovely comments about the bongo. The campervan's actual name is Mazda Bongo Friendee which is why it is called a bongo NSK. Being highly original, ours is called Billy Bongo.
    :rotfl:

I am hoping if we have some spare money from the wedding that we can use it for a big holiday round europe in the bongo.
It's strange, I am quite a wee nipper when I am in my car (so is the OH) but when we are in the bongo we rarely go over 60. It is just such a relaxing vehicle to drive.
I have received good news that my request for a driveway has been approved. So the council have said yes, there has been a couple of people around to measure up (no quotes yet). I was a bit worried as I have don't have enough savings but my dad is going to pay for the drive and it will go onto the loan from my dad.
Incidently (maybe the wrong word), my dad has slowly been taking dribs and drabs (£20 - 40) from my account towards that as well so it is slowly going down. However, he is not taking heaps as he knows how hard I am trying to pay off the credit card and wants to encourage this sort of behaviour.
    :D

I know getting my dad to pay for it is the cheats way out and I fully intend to pay him back. I would have held off getting the drive but after my neighbour was so nasty about the campervan using up a parking space (in the public car park outside my house), I was close to selling up and moving to get away from him.
The joke of it is that at the time, the bongo belonged to my dad who lives on the same street so he had two vehicles, we had two vehicles and the neighbour varied between three and four!!

So, the driveway means I can be a wee bit of a b*tch and park the bongo directly outside my house in a driveway (hopefully will save a bit on the insurance) and also he will see it every time he opens his curtains.
I know this sounds harsh but he told me that all the neighbours were talking about it and were very unhappy with my behaviour on the street. I have had two parties in my lifetime. One for my graduation (where I had maybe 20 people who were all family) and one for my OH's leaving party when he was going away to flying school. (there were eight of us for the weekend). Hardly a crazy anti-social-to-my-neighbours lifestyle.
My mum and dad has since spoken to neighbours (I couldn't face hearing them telling me that they hated me) and none of them hate me, none of them have a problem with me and now they all wave and say hello when they see me.
Isn't it stupid that one person's comments could affect another so profoundly.
    :embarasse

Anyways... I have had another two spend-free days so total is now: FIVE!!!!!
I have done exercise with my mum so that is doing pretty well. I am now on holiday so will probably do more exercise anyways (going out exploring, etc).
    :j

I had this wonderful thought that I might not need fuel as I have now finished work and we are using my dad's car on holiday... but sadly my mum is over at my auntie's house and I have been invited out for lunch with my great auntie (not really a "no thank you" kinda thing) so once I can peel myself out of bed, I plan on getting ready and heading off. Boo hiss as I almost kept myself an extra £40.
    :p

Still having dreams about quick fixes... it's never going to happen. My OH's parent have just sold their "near-london" house for one at the seaside so have a huge nest-egg. Last night, the dream was that they gave us £10k. OH gave me half and it paid off the credit card... then (remember it's a dream)... OH took me to New York for 10 days. The dream was pretty amazing to be honest. Can't wait to get to New York some day.

Erm... I think I have maybe rabbited on too much but hey ho, I am not about to read through it all again and get rid of bits. It is what is going through my head.

Hope every little turtle is okay.
    Hugs.

mothernerd - developing a collective mind, eh? Sounds scarily like The Borg to me (Trekkies out there will know what I mean!) :rotfl:.

stewby - hope the bleh stuff stops soon. Glad your parents asked about your neighbour's nasty comments and found out they were totally untrue. You are so right about how 1 person's destructive comments can really make a difference to someone else's life.

NSK :rotfl: to you sitting there LIKE THAT in your office! And telling us about it, when you know people (or is it one person) there know about your alter ego on here...!

Well, we are off on our family holiday tomorrow. Not sure if we will have interweb, but a bonus if we do. And I get the chance to see my uncle for the last time. Very mixed emotions about that.

Off to help dd pack now.

Oh Stewby - I wish your dream would come true for you! I dreamt our house fell into a big hole in the ground the other night, so I hope mine don't come true!

This isn't my real post, but I just had to say, following my final counselling session, that M&S Iced and Spiced Bun that I have just gobbled up with a cuppa was TOTALLY worth ruining a NSD for!!

    Sorry!

In good news, my counsellor said (although the 6 sessions have been paid for by work through a health scheme) that if I want more in a little while she is happy to do them privately for me and 'come to some arrangement' about her fees. What a nice thing!

Right, back to work - check in later gang x

    Hi all.

To those needing hugs, I am handing them out for free today. Anyone feeling poorly though, please wear gloves and masks. I don't want internet lurgy as my holiday starts tomorrow evening.

Tiptoes what a lovely thing your counsellor did. I know the NHS paid for me to have 6 sessions last year with a 'private' firm locally. Maybe your doctor could point you in that direction if necessary? For me, the two times I have had counselling, it has really not worked. I am not a closed up person but one set of sessions brought up some nasty childhood issues, and the second lot, frankly the adviser was horrible and not very helpful at all. I am glad yours was a far more positive experience!

Yesterday a 'helpful' ASDA person ended up costing me for UHT Coconut cream, and a pack of dairy free chocolate. These are going to be the most expensive dairy free rice krispie cakes ever. Since she frogmarched me to the checkout I couldn't put it back. So my shopping cost £8.02. So depressed.

Also on top of this, Him who is staying whilst I work as always, has invited his friend for the second week running. This disrupts my regimented meal plan and whilst I have managed to save it, it has moved things around and I am frankly bored of being derailed by other people. I said they could get themselves a takeaway and Jellytot and I would eat as planned. He said why couldn't I stretch the food to include a further adult, rather than them both having to spend money. Sometimes I want to headbutt people until I leave an imprint on their face. Fine for me to spend my limited budget feeding them. Not fine for them to choose one of 20 local takeaways of all flavours and prices.

I am hoping for my own dream to come true from last night. I dreamt someone gave me a house. Maybe it fell through a hole in the floor :rotfl:

Anyways, SFD for me today after yesterdays wasn't. Tomorrow should be too, and my internet should be back up and running by evening finally. Then we discuss the TV, then we discuss my bill, and by the time I am done with them, I should have a hefty credit on the account. ;)

Off to finish out my working day then go home, play with my daughter and go to bed early. This week is depressing. Someone said up there about Robin Williams. Quoted my favourite films too. I sat at half 11 the night before and turned the TV off as a Family Guy was on roasting him. I love him so didn't watch. The next day I woke up to a news alert that he was gone. It put a dampener on my week that just keeps getting worse. Rest in peace RW.
