I left my washing out in it...not on purpose :rotfl:
So I had a busy old day today. Took a few bags of stuff to the charity shop, and dropped off a bag of food at the food bank bin in Tesco. I often take it directly to the bank, but Tesco are adding 30% to all donations so I figured it was better to take it there.
I photographed a few more things for ebay. I'll probably load them on Thursday night. I have a few watchers on my re-listed items and two have bids already - hurrah!!
I learned that coffee and white shirts don't mix! Grrr!!! The coffee stain didn't come out so I bought some stain devil stuff and it's back in the machine again now.
The stain devil purchase came about because I got an email from Lakeland to say I couldn't pick up my Spider Stopper spray as the store was out of stock. So I called the store directly and they had plenty of stock. Hmm, I thought today would be a SFD as the spray was paid for when it was ordered. The order was cancelled so I had to cancel my SFD! While I was out, I had one of those days when all the little odd and ends that need to be bought but never do, just happen to be in the store I was in! That's probably terrible grammar, but you get what I mean? I bought a new fuse for my vacuum cleaner, AA batteries for a lamp that has been dead since the beginning of summer, drain unblocker and shower head de-scaler for my shower that's been a bit iffy for a few months and descale tablets for my kettle. Oh, plus the Spider Stopper spray x 2! Phew, but now I can get round to all those odd jobs that have needed to be done for ages! Feel free to shout if I haven't done these jobs by the weekend!!
I also posted my ebay sale and a little cute thing to my great-nephew.
Thankfully I got change from £20 after paying for all that lot, but equally I'm happy we're hurtling towards the middle of the month.
I [STRIKE]must[/STRIKE] will remain on track as much as possible! With all that DIY work to do, there'll be no going out anyway
Ooh, despite the downpour, my bedclothes are now dry - hurrah for fresh bedsheets!!!!0 -
Midnight update: kettle descaled, shower head descaled, shower drain in progress (it's an overnight job)...just the bed to make then I'm climbing in
Goodnight x

Morning beautiful people... :rotfl:
Today was a splendid start - I managed to put back the items I needed from the little corner Sainsburys near work (£4.55) and walked my sorry carcass to the local massive Tesco's to avail of the EDV goods (£2.65) = a whopping great saving of £1.90 but I am proud of myself. Not so proud that I had to stand in the freezer section for a bit as I was SO warm.
Yesterday's ride home was epic. I was leaving the gym just as the hail came on but waited until the hail stopped as it looked painful. Still got home drenched. With a big grin on my face. Damaged my headphones though so only one side works - I can't live without headphones so a new pair (my 4th) was ordered just now (£10.99). Will be bringing a few pairs with me on my travels I think.
Nearly got a tin of EDV peaches but I don't have a tin opener. Gutted.
Cooked a lentil loaf last night. Cremated said lentil loaf. It will still be eaten. made bread rolls this morning - 3 have been scoffed - noodles and veg with rice and beans for lunch and dinner so I don't eat LOADS when I meet my friends later...
Watched Dispatches; The Real Cost of Cheap Food last night. Never eating Tesco wraps again. (Dropped on the floor if packaging splits but gathered up in a big bin and sent for "re-packaging" - UGH!)...
Am in until 1800 so will bounce back later. I am off for porridge now....“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent".0 -
Hello all
Apologies for my absence the last couple of days. I was moving all of my toot back home after a lovely month of house sitting for my friend, who returned from her travels Monday evening. She was full of stories and adventures, and that ol' travel pang was reawakened...darn!
Thank you for your words of support regarding my lil Rust Bucket..I think sometimes naming an inanimate object and treating it like it is alive is where the downfall lies when it comes to parting ways! *Sniffle*
Stewby- Bongo looks amazing!! And in such super condition! I would love my own camper in the future. I have been to VW/Camper fests just to gawk at their beauty!
All of this talk of porridge has made me really fancy some...I live on it throughout the winter! It's like a little hot water bottle for your tummy, there's just something very comforting about it. Like a good ol' cuppa tea!
Job apps are still in progress. I have only heard back from one more to say that I was not successfully short listed for interview. Ah well! The interview I am awaiting on should be scheduled by next week, as the MD of the company who takes the interviews is on holiday until then. I'm not completely sure what is on offer as I originally applied for bank work/part time, just to make up an extra days money to work around my previous job. However, I did provide a cover note on my app to request that I be considered for any full time posts.
I am helping a friend with an arty party this evening for several hours, so I will at least have a little bit of money from that. I am helping her with another in just over a weeks time, so every little helps! :T
Kat - I like your 'what the heck' mentality regarding cycling in the rain..shame about your headphones though! One of my favourite quotes is- 'Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass. It's about learning to dance in the rain.'
Ok so onto stats:
Declutter- 6/20 items. One of these is a spare, unused air filter for my old car and another is the old Haynes manual that went with her.
SFDs- 4/12 I think today will be a spend day as I will have to pay a staggering 50p for parking near where I am working this eve.
Other stats have not changed..
Happy Hump Day everyone!:coffee:

Hey gang
Argh how frustrating, I lost my post as the laptop decided to configure updates again! It always seems to do it while Im mid posting! Grrrr.. Anyhoo..
Lilt Good to hear your brother is on the mend, hope the angiogram shows minimal damage
Mothernerd Aw your turtle tale brought a big smile to my face
Fmess Hope you feel better soon!
Goodness doesnt time fly, almost mid month already and 7 SFDs to date! Not much to report really, Ive been at work mostly with little time for much although I made a splendid foraged blackberry tart last week made with ready made pastry! Not tried blackberries with porridge, not sure I like the sound of gruel and blackberries!
I also got caught in yesterdays downpour close to home Kat! Unfortunately, I lost the race against time and got soaked.. wouldve been better to 'waste' a few minutes to stop and don waterproofs than get home a few minutes quicker looking like a drowned rat :rotfl:
I love your camper van stewbEven though I own a property with my ex but currently live in rented accommodation, I have been thinking quite hard for some time now about investing and living in a motorhome.. I am partly inspired by Kat, who will be more or less living out of a ruck sack while travelling for many years and by crazylady who over the last year or so has given up her space in order to save/ make money.. Im still in the early stages of figuring out whether this can work but we will see ..
Im working a night shift tonight and then will be off for a few days. I am planning on looking at my wall planner (inspired by MrsGSR last December! :T) at some point to work out exactly how much money I have spent on the car/ birthdays/ hair/ dentist/ clothes and medical things so far. This is the first time I have ever kept a close eye on annual expenditures for essential things and will have an idea of how much money I need to put aside to cover these costs next year..
Hope you all have a good day..

Ahoy!
Not a SFD as I am about to ship out and buy bread, milk, a birthday card, friday treats for work.it only comes around once per 6 weeks and usually costs £3 but worst week for it to pop up in
On the plus side, I just joined a campaign whereby I will get 5 free 100g bars of Lindt's new chocolate range. Boom
Totals remain unchanged til later when I check back in with my confession on how well I did spendwise.

SFD: 5/12
EXERCISE: 10/25
Hope you are feeling better Fmess. Look after yourself.
Did a cycle tonight, it was very windy and hard. But I did it! Spendy day as I did a top up shop (which cost more that the original weekly shop) for bits for a nice chilli on Friday night so DH and I can have a home ‘date night’. Also £3.50 bottle of wine bought – wonder if that will be ok?!
DH out tonight so it’s my night to curl up with the cats and watch stuff on Netflix with my crazy fridge raid dinner – left overs and jumbo Lidl olives tonight!
Happy hump day Turtles (and nearly half way through the month) xLBM Aug 2013 - DEBTS AS OF THEN £25,150  now: £0 :j

Today has been another NSD but feels like a cheat one! I have a £1 off a £5 spend at the c00p so trotted down there to see what yellow stickered goods were available. Twas truly pathetic! I managed a paltry £3.89 so paid in cash rather than buy a 'normal' item and lose my NSD.
Today I am grateful for brollies, for Monopoly (yep, started a game with dd already), for good friends, for realising that the reason the shower was cold was because I had turned the dial the wrong way(!), for random cuddles from dd.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0
