mothernerd have you tried using webuybooks for your cds? The name is a misnomer as they take cds, dvds, as well as books. I've got baskets in wbb and mm, depending on which site offered the most money!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

Not much to report here. I had to go to the doctors for some antibiotics for a minor infection, so paid for prescription. Still that counts as a SFD no?
I've got lots of DIY planned for later tonight. Not sure I will actually get it all done. But got to give it a go, as I have guests and a washing machine arriving on Friday (not together!) so the living room painting needs to be finished, and I need to lay the lino in the utility room. I think it's possible, but it's going to be a long evening.Total debt: [STRIKE]£9473.62[/STRIKE] £7,384.87 22% PAIDTAF #25 NSD 8/12 | Food £43.45/£50 | eBay 0/20 | Exercise 5/18:T Proud to be Dealing with my Debt :TDFD: June 20150 -

Will try webuybooks for the rest of the pile. I knew there were other sites but had heard it could be a chore, especially as I don't have the kind of phone (or any mobile right now - on list for this week) that zaps them so it was entering them by hand. Then had to retire to bed with painkillers and stolen cake (DS3s).
Spent money today on fruit and veg (and replacing DS3's cake) and £2 on bus into town (£1 each way). Not happy about it, spent more than I intended and no great bargains but the only fresh things I had were onions and potatoes. Still have hm ready meals, cheese, eggs and crispbread. Also spent too much as there was a dreadful family (shouldn't judge but!!!) and I couldn't get away from them.
Struggled to get off the bus. Three people behind me who all waited patiently even though I told them to go past (was hanging on to the driver's cab having tried to go forward before my leg was ready and nearly hit the floor). Pathetic hobbling when I got off (the need for ibruprofen was one of the reasons I went - managing to block/ ignore the pain most of the time but it's been building all day).
Three shops along a group of six children/young people were ranged along the window and sitting in the middle of the pavement outside the bookie's.Three any age between 13 and 26, three younger, one pushchair. One looked at me, made a remark and they were all smirking and sniggering. I probably looked funny (but I wasn't sat on the floor outside the bookies).
Took my charity stuff to the library, couldn't manage the walk to the pound shop. Then on to little Arseda. Just inside the door, picking up the sandwiches and fruit, throwing it down again, yelling and chasing the younger kids round the store. I did my best to be in a different aisle (it was easy to hear where they were). Finished shopping, peered gingerly round the shelves. No I wasn't going to stand right behind them in the queue so I went up and down another couple of aisles (and bought more things that weren't necessary). Still going through the checkout (with a tiny wizened woman who must either have been the mother or possibly grandmother to some of them) but at least there were a couple of people between us.
Can usually ignore people like this (had a family renting the house next door - little house - once and the police were round at least 3 times a week), but they were hard to ignore.
Have been sorting through stuff today (de-clutter total going up) but don't have much to show for it. Have to wait for the parcel to be collected tomorrow, so have cut half the lavender - can sit and cut it to length and tie into bunches for drying. Have also got DS3 to take a large tub of paint downstairs so I can touch up the bit under the bay window (he also moved the parcel into the hallway and put a pair of covers on the cupboard fittings).
Today I am grateful that I only have sons, that the lavender is as always glorious and that hopefully by morning I will be back to my usual (generally) tolerant self.

MotherNerd, your post yesterday was inspirational and also made me chuckle re the wild sex – I hope that it was supposed to! My friend, who is 26, has recently been diagnosed with the same and I had the same thought - that it can’t be right – it’s an old person’s thing. But I guess it affects all ages. Power to you in these trying times… I know from all I have read over the past months that you have the fighting spirit strong in you. I hope you are feeling a bit better after your stressful day today.
Stewby – love the Bongo baby! (and the doggy!)
Kat – I love blackberries with porridge! Yum! Any time of the day… don’t listen to no fools who tell you otherwise.
SFD here and a run done. Stressful day again, but managed to scoff a load of free flapjack at work instead of succumbing to the dreaded tuck box and paying 65p.LBM Aug 2013 - DEBTS AS OF THEN £25,150  now: £0 :j

Caeraugirl - I am also in dire need of a new computer and am switching to a mac when this one dies. I have an 'activation code' on email, which you just download the YNAB for your new compy, enter the code and it imports all of your old info. You can also choose to ditch it and start afresh if you would rather at that point
remember to look for a code for more than 10% off if you can find it, and if you can't then I or one of the other YNABers can give you a referral code which gets you 10% off and gives us the same back (somehow, I haven't given a referral before so no idea how it works for me!)
Kat I am glad it wasn't just me banned from the turtles. I wasn't allowed to watch Power Rangers either. Having seen that a couple of years ago accidentally, I can wholeheartedly say that I missed nothing
Everyone thank you for your well wishes on my poor bro. He has recovered enough from his infection to be moved to a new hospital tomorrow where a specialist will do an angioplasty, placing a camera up through a vein in his groin right into his heart to check out the damage. Hopefully he will be given good news and can head home soon. He says he feels like he is taking up a bed for no reason which is him all over :rotfl:
A bonus today, for the few that eat meat in here. Lidl are offering 2 x 1kg packs of pork loin medallions (so all fat cut off a chop...) for £10 from Thursday this week. I am not partaking as have enough to be going along with & don't really enjoy pork very much (see below mind you..). Thought it might help someone though.
I have been stretching my food further than I though possible and will get an extra days meals out of the slow cooked pork I made.pork 'roast' dinner and then two meals of BBQ pulled pork.
shame it doesn't taste better, it's such a cheap and versatile meat. Anyways this means that I can remove one of the other meals from my plan, which will be meat from the freezer and I can move that to next week
Broadband still isn't back up. Less said about that the better. Every day without it is more money they will be paying me. Have logged onto their free wifi which only works vaguely well in my bedroom.
Kat forgot to say, I eat porridge morning, noon and night in winter. Hot or just flakes covered in milk. I love adding raisins and cinammon

eBay remains the same.. what is this I hear about rising fees?!?!?! does anyone know of the right place I can offload a shedload of really dark amethysts set into some pretty gorgeous costume jewellery. I've held onto it for donkeys years. A legacy left by a great aunt who died of cancer far too young for the little girl who loved dressing up in her fancy jewellery. But I could never wear it. It is strictly ballgown type stuff. Time to let go...
Night all. 3 days of work now. 2 of which should be SFD. When I get the broadband back I will check in!

Liltdiddylilt I am with you! I seriously could eat porridge for every meal in winter. I have it just with water and my favourite addition is a mushy over-ripe but cold from the fridge banana. DH calls it my 'gruel' and thinks I am odd.LBM Aug 2013 - DEBTS AS OF THEN £25,150  now: £0 :j

I rode home from the gym in a torrential downfall. On purpose!:T:T:T“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. stewby your bongo is brilliant!
Not a no spend day here and a confession to be made. One of my aims this month was not to spend on my credit card at all, it was going well until I got an email about pre-sale tickets for one of my favourite bands this morning and 2 minutes later I had whacked 2 tickets totalling £80 on it. However I have set a payment up for £40 to come out my current account on payday and my friend will give me her £40 so it'll be paid off by the end of the month. I'm not actually adding it to my credit card debt below as it will be paid before it even hits the statement as I've just had one. Phew, confession done!
I did make a payment of £13.59 to my CC as my work expenses came through. I also donated blood tonight, the centre is a 20 min walk from work so I'm counting it as an exercise session (40 mins in total battling tourist & festival goers dawdling about is no easy task). There were a few posters up in the centre about donating platelets so I'm going to find out a bit more about that.
The pre-sale ticket incident today got me thinking about starting a wee 'slush fund' where I could save about £10 a month then I'd always have a pot of money for things like tickets or deals, but not for clothes or going out. I'd probably cap it about £100 and if I spend out if it I'll start saving again until it's back to the £100 mark.
Sorry, this has turned into a bit of a long post.
