  • Omg so I think I had norovirus!!!! On weds night I went for some client drinks (had only 2 glasses of prosseco over 1.5 hours) then met some friends for dinner and we shared a bottle of red between 3. Woke up about 1am feeling dreadful and unable to sleep. Around 430am had to rush to bathroom and chucked guts up! This continued throughout the night and then the other end started in the morning too! Had to stay off work Thursday and literally on back in bed all day, couldn't even keep water down. I don't think there's any way that could be alcohol induced on only 3 drinks

Thought might be food poisoning but eat at the place we ate loads and never been ill before. Plus had steak - pretty safe? I also felt awful yesterday (though worked) and not been sick or the other again but was sweating like a pig in a butchers and just felt really light headed. Still don't feel 100% today

Needless to say I missed training. Also, work being difficult about my being off even though I made up 2 hours time yesterday and am going in tomorrow to make up the rest. Fell I've put my life in hold and health at risk for that job and it's never enough

Anyway, have a date tonight. Someone local and seems normal and not a player. Not been constant messaging but trying not to get hopes up. Just going to go for a couple of hours, be myself and assess if I like him as a person and whether I like his values (as much as you can find those out on a first date). Then going to come home, no snogging, no nakedness.

I've stuck (know it's only been a few days!) so far to what I've said and a guy who told me last thurs to keep last sat free then went radio silent messaged me last night saying "been quiet?" - needless to say I've not responded! I also had another one ask me out for weeks when I finally fave in I gave him a date and he went radio silent then messaged me. I told him as I'd not heard from him I'd made other plans and he suggested I meet him down the local nightclub after!!! I said I don't do meeting boys in x if I guy wants to see me it has to be a proper date. Then he said well you've said you're busy and I said I gave you a date and ratio silence, I don't do sitting around waiting for boys sorry. He goes "I'm not a boy I'm a man and if you can't be bothered to make time for me...". Then I got annoyed and said "omg listen to yourself, I gave you a date you went radio silent, I'm un matching you best of luck". As I said, not standing for this !!!! anymore!!!

  • Go Lulabelle, so pleased to hear you are standing up for yourself. Get the respect you deserve girl.

Sorry to hear you've been poorly. Look after yourself. Jobs that try to make you feel guilty for being ill aren't worth the guilt. Take longer off next time!

  • Thanks SS. Wish I could but they are SO difficult - in fact, the powers that be aren't speaking to me because of it!!! I wouldn't mind but it's not like I'm not actually making the time up to make sure the work gets done - I shouldn't be going in tomoz really (or prob going out tonight) but I am so I can make sure it's on their desk 8am Monday

Note to self, do not watch rachel mcadams audition for the notebook a few hours before a date or in fact any public appearance - cue eyes like p1ssholes in the snow!!!

  • Went on date last night. He was really nice actually. We did get through 2 bottles of wine then went on for more drinks and he made a move in me whilst walking home (he lives not far from me). I stupidly went back to his and stayed but kept all my clothes on so better than the usual! He asked for my number this morning and whether I'd like to go out again and has texted a few times today so thats good.

It was quite funny actually as in the bar we were in when I went to the loo apparently the girls on the table next to him were saying he was the envy of all the guys in there as when I'd got up to go to the loo several were checking out my !!! - ha ha!!!

I somehow was fine to work today (maybe cos wine was organic?!) and got through what I needed to.

I have training tomorrow and cannot wait

Not been great with MSE stuff but I've been worse!

  • Went to training this morning and feel amazing after it! Even though it was rubbish to have to work yesterday I'm glad I did as no longer have it hanging over me and can hopefully (she says, depends on emails overnight!) start today with a blank canvas. Have got a tricky set of proceedings to draft today but slept well and even though up early for training feel good as a result

Date texted last night and asked me out again - this week tricky due to work Xmas party and things planned with friends before Xmas but hsvung dinner with him thurs. Not getting hopes up as seem to get let down lots but at least he's the one doing the running

Seeing a friend for lunch today and will also get some sweets for my bro to finish off his Xmas presents (he's done well out of me this year) just mum and dad to do now and they are so hard to buy for. Got them a few bits already but they are so generous to me it never seems enough but whenever I ask them what they want they don't know or don't want anything!

Tonight is a night on sofa with "24" and a baked sweet potato and early night!

  • Ran tonight - first run on my couch to half marathon (half marathon mid march) - 2 miles. Haven't run for a while so was tough (cannot believe it is so tough to run 2 miles - the shame!!) but glad I stuck to it. Exercise has such a positive effect on me mentally that I really need to make sure I do keep at it as just feel so so much better and sleep better

Work ok, got first cut of tricky proceedings done and sent off to client - now have no work but in some ways I'm glad as gives me a bit of breathing space to catch up on reading into areas of law I need to but don't get time to

Date texted me tonight to see how week was going. Bizarre as was sat on sofa thinkjng I hadn't heard from him on Sunday but that I must not text then he texted me. Shows he's keen but this time am not making same mistake of cancelling plans with friends to accommodate a boy (like I did with London boy) - willing to make time for him but only if he reciprocates (which to be fair he is) but it's early days and for all I know he's a psycho!!!

Had another night on sofa (after run) with 24 - second series now and love love love it! Omg that twist at the end of the first series (penultimate episode) - won't put it on here in case people haven't seen it and want to

Training early doors tomorrow then a night with the girlies at one of their houses tomorrow night which am looking forward to
