I had been contemplating moving my weigh in day as I find half way through the weekend difficult but not sure what to move to. I think I may go for a Wednesday as its a couple of easy days then the weekend then a couple of days to get back on track.

    What do others think?

My regular WI day is Thursday. On a regular week, I'll come from WI knowing what I need to do for the coming week. Fortunately I've never been one to indulge in 'syns don't count on WI days'.;) Then I do my mealplan and shop on Friday. I have a fairly indulgent weekend from my syn bank then eat fairly syn free until the following Thursday. That works for me.

    More good losses.:T

I'm trying to get by on just fresh food shopping this week to run the freezer down a bit.

    Today's EE plan:
B: NAS Ribena, HEB toast, baked beans, HEA milk
    L: probably omelette or similar
D: lamb rogan josh, rice, SW chips

Syns: weekend wine:D I think the curry is 7.5 syns and I'm having half. I'm counting the pilau as about 2. maybe a bit of mango chutney but definitely staying away from samosas (hence the chips).

    Morning all!

Amazed, I weighed in earlier after having my visitor fr a week, and I still managed to lose -1lb :D Im half way to target challenge loss, and I think ideally Id like to lose 17lbs in total, so nearly a third of the way there :T

Im not sure how much I want to weigh really, for me this is about fitting back into my clothes which are too small. I'm not sure what weight I was two summers ago, so I am trying to estimate amounts....

At best I'd been hoping for a STS - I was being careful, but we ate our every day, there was some fish and chips and scones etc, so I am just delighted as this has really kept my motivation up :D I did also discover that in using a "fish" plate instead of a dinner plate for serving smaller quantities to my visitor, I was eating less as well, but enough. I think I need to keep this up, I've been aware for a while my portion control can be a culprit as I was brought up to finish what was on my plate :o

I weigh in on Saturdays simply because I started on a Saturday. I don't tend to vary what/how I eat weekday to weekend, however I do need to stop myself standing on the scales daily - my expected increase this week stopped me standing on the scales every day as I didn't want to see what i was expecting, so it was just lovely to have a surprise and bonus loss, even if a small one.

Well done to those with losses, and keep trying for those who might be struggling. Happy birthday to TG too

I'm so glad I've stumbled across this thread. I've been thinking about starting SW online for a few days but money's tight and I wanted to find out a bit about how it works beforehand. Reading this thread has really helped. There's just a couple of things I'm fretting about and wondered if you "old hands" could advise me.

It seems so complicated. Will it all become clear once I've read the stuff they'll provide when I sign up online? Did it take you all a long time to get the hang of it?

Reading through your daily menus, I can see that you include a lot of fruit, for obvious reasons. The problem I have is that I can't eat much fruit as it gives me stomach ache. Having read up about it, I think I'm probably fructose intolerant. I like fruit but I can only eat it in very small quantities. I might get away with half a banana or small apple for example, then I'd have to wait several hours before I could eat any more fruit. Am I going to struggle with this on SW? Realistically, could you do it with hardly any fruit? Will I end up eating endless carrot sticks?

I'm assuming you're thinking of joining online because you can't get to a group?

It does seem complicated to start with but once you have your books and a chance to read them through and refer to them then it'll start to stick. Try reading the first post of this thread for the general gist of how it works.

As for the fruit: no, it's not essential. What matters (on the Extra Easy plan particularly) is that you have at least a third of what you eat as fruit OR veg or a mixture of both. Personally I eat very little fruit but that's because I'm lazy. I also think that sugar is sugar whether natural or otherwise and that weightloss is better with veg but that's my opinion not SW policy.

I don't know exactly how SW works on line, whether you have a 'virtual' consultant who can answer any queries. But that's where a thread like this is brilliant. Just ask away!

In the SW magazine and on the website there's a sample 7 day menu. You might want to give it a try before committing yourself. And you definitely don't have to exist on carrot sticks!!:rotfl:

    Thanks maman, that's reassuring.

I'd rather do it online. I can get to a group but the whole idea of that just doesn't appeal to me. I'll feel much more comfortable doing it on my own, with some help from this thread now that I've found it.

I'll have another look at the SW website this afternoon. Might give that sample menu a try.

    Afternoon

I weighed in this morning because I couldn't make it to my group on Tuesday night as was out for my mums birthday.

    I lost 2.5lb.

Quite surprised as I had Indian food on Tuesday and went to frankie and bennys on Thursday night.

I weigh in again on Tuesday night so my weight might be up a bit at that weigh in.

    Halle everyone is well.
