You could try my Peas & Onions curry which I love.

Chop up an onion. Using frylite, fry the onion in pan until it is soft. Add 1 tsp of turmeric and a pinch of chilli powder (or more if you like it spicy), mix this into a paste. Add one tin of marrowfat peas. Cook until peas are soft and can be roughly mashed with a spoon or something. Keep cooking until mixture thickens and resembles mushy peas.

    .

Not sure about that either - I just don't like the look of mushy peas:( Haven't eaten them since I was a kid (many moons ago, LOL!).

Quite pleased at WI this morning with a half lb off so now just a pound from "bottom end". Would like to be at bottom end for my holiday at end August so happy just being in targe range at the moment.

I don't like the taste of normal mushy peas but I love this Peas & Onions recipe.

Toying with the idea of using some syns on a Freddo. Really craving chocolate/sweets atm.

Re the mushy pea curry - my original perception of it was much like most of yours....a case of "what? ugh, no thank you" but I was won over when DD made it and have had it a couple of times since.

For mushy pea haters - blitz it down after heating so you can't see them and I promise you cannot taste them at all.

It's yummy, quick, easy and cheap.....what else could you ask for :D

Oh, actually, there is one other bonus - it keeps you regular, more than regular if you know what I mean ;)

    Welcome to Shell Belle :)
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

Menu looks good wiz. I can see you're keeping the syns down, good idea to give that a try. Depending on how much chicken's in your salad you could call it a Green day and have extra milk or cheese if you wanted.

Went to Asda to get a microwave but saw they had a lot of summer clothes and couldn't resist a mooch, well I got the white jeans I have been wondering about usually 14.00 down to a fiver, a lovely white lacy knitted cardigan down from 15.00 to a fiver, a pretty pair of summer pjs down from 12.00 to 5.00, then spotted two nice tops and a really pretty bra. So spent 27.00 and am thrilled to bits. Then I had to pass
the reduced section and it was halfprice so got Free range chicken, Pork lion chops and a 750 gram lean beef mince, bags of stirfry, 2 5lb bags baking potatoes, bannasa and nectarines. Whilst I was still looking the SA came up with the reducing gun and seeing my basket said put that on my trolly as its to be reduced again, 75% off now, so I did and bless her she reduced it all again, a man came up and tried to take the chicken of her and she said no it is this ladies, told him to pick what he wanted out of the cabinet and she would reduce it for him but he wasn't happy as there wasn't another chicken. So double thrilled bill came to
    9.00.

Then I realised I didn't have my card, had purposely left it in the house and took £40 cash to buy microwave so as not to be tempted, but hey sometimes you just have to grab a bargain when you see it, don't you

So saved 27.00 on the food shopping. and £30 on clothes (not that I would have bought them on full price, don't usually buy new
    just carboot and charity shop).

Well now I have written you all a saga I will let you off, Hugs to all Meg.

Just have to ask what is the difference here, mushy peas are just marrowfat peas, cooked and mushed. I used to buy the dried and do my own but got a bargain lot of tinned and honestly didn't notice any difference in taste or texture.

It's a very long time since I ate marrowfat or dried peas but in my memory they do taste different. My nana used to make dried peas most Sundays when I was a child. I eat mushy peas with fish or sometime gammon or burgers but not the curry yet.

Not given the mushy pea curry a go yet but its on my list.

Bought some tinned carrots when I did my big shop and I am going to give the 3 tin soap a go. I am a fan of speed soup really need to make another huge batch in my slow cooker.

Major achievement today! I wore a pair of jeans I have not been able to get in for over two years. They are too big around my bum and legs and by the end of the day had started slipping down round the waist (you know how jeans stretch when you wear them)

I am over the moon. They have been one of my targets so this has really picked me up out of my I am sick of not being able to eat loads of chocolate mood I have been in the last week.

Ordered myself some new clothes next size down on my VIP next sale slot last night. Always loved clothes and I am enjoying being able to finally get a chance to get things that are fashionable not just what fits.

    EE day for me today.
