    Good afternoon All

I am back from my week away and the scales at home look like I have either STS or maybe lost a little looking forward to the scales (strange)

    Today's menu so far is

    B - Gooseberries
L- Uncle Benns biriyani rice 5 Syns
D- Jacket potato with beans and HEA cheese with a side salad

Afternoon snack - Yogurt and frozen berries
    Twirl 1 finger 5.5 Syns

    Syns so far 10.5 Syns

HEB - Not sure might have some nuts or seeds later

That's good going after a holiday shell. Welcome back and I hope you had a good time.

Your menu today looks decidedly Green to me! So you could have an extra HEA (more cheese on JP?) and an extra HEB if you wanted.

    Welcome nicegirl!

Instead of slightly naughty dinner after WI as every week to date, I have a huge (and totally free) casserole on in the slow cooker. Veg wise I think it is onion, carrot, courgette, swede, butternut squash, sweet peppers, parsnip, broccoli & sweetcorn. All in a tomato sauce with a mix of herbs and spices for flavour and some chickpeas and quorn swedish meatballs for a bit of protein.

    My house smells lovely :)

My friend is organising a picnic lunch for Thursday and has asked me to take couscous and leaves. I've eaten couscous but never 'made' it. Which is the lowest syns? Easiest to do? Tastiest straight from packet? I really don't have time to be making dressings etc.

    Any advice welcome. TIA.:)

Meg - I would just cook them as they are and then remove the crumb coating and just eat the turkey so it would be Free. Don't think I'd want to try washing the coating off! If you don't want to cook it with the coating on could you just scrape it off before cooking?

I can't see that removing the breadcrumbs is any differen to removing the batter on a bit of chippy fish!

    That's certainly a good price.

Thanks Denise, I didn't get them in the end as the weight of the bag was 1kg and I figured that half of that would be coating. What they did have for 2. 50p a killo, was turkey crowns, 2kg weight for £5. so I reckoned it was worth the extra 50p a killo and I can cut my own steaks.

Also they had a large bag of mixed veg 2.5kg, for 1.00 so got one of those for soup and a few stews. so I was pleased that I went even if I didn't buy the steaks :rotfl:

I get that you get 2 HeAs and HeBs on each but I don't get anything else; what do you have to weigh? how much do you get? is there still free foods? :S I feel like a real idiot having to ask but its never been explained to me and the books don't help me either

I've been eating couscous now for a couple of years as its really easy for work and the only ones I've ever used are the Ainsley Harriott ones; not sure of the syns but convenience wise they're great as you literally add boiling water to it :-)

Lush: Very quickly - you get 2 HEAs & 2 HEBs. These are listed on the website.

If you're doing a Red day then you can unlimited meat & fish and limited carbs as HEBs - eg 60g wholemeal bread; 230g jacket potato; varying amounts of nuts & seeds; 1 Tbs Olive Oil

On a Green day you can have unlimited carbs - rice, potatoes, pasta etc and limited meat, fish etc - eg 65g salmon; 60g cooked beef; 70g chicken.

On Green days you can also have Cheese as a HEB so could have loads of cheese - up to 4 lots! - 2 HEA & 2 HEB!

If you look in the book for Red and Green days you'll find the full list, although things do change from time to time.

Perhaps Consultant will be along shortly and explain it better!

Definitely agree. Looks a definite Green day to me as well.

    Hi all

Just 1lb off this week but remembering the picture of what 1lb of fat looks like has cheered me up, especially as I had an evening on the wine!

I had to google what 1lb of fat looks like and.... I'm suddenly feeling MUCH better about my 2lb loss so thank you! :D
    Tomorrow:

    B: fruit, water
L: jacket potato with baked beans, cheese (HEA) and salad.
D: pasta with tomatoes, peppers, sweetcorn, carrots and peas, salad.
    Drinks: water, Pepsi Max.
Snacks: carrot sticks, fruit, nuts (HEB)

Big change of plan.. Still feeling poorly and woke up REALLY late - just about managed to get to the hospital in time for my appointment. So I missed breakfast. It took longer than I expected and I still wanted to try and stick to plan so I bought a jacket potato home from the cafe to save time. I was still hungry! Hence the snacks. So the amended menu:

    Green Day:

    B: missed.
L: jacket potato with cheese and beans (HEA1), fruit salad, water
Snack: walkers cheese and onion (6.5), HiFi bar (HEB1), Options hot choc (1.5 syns, HEA2)
D: herby tomato pasta with onions, green peppers, peas, carrots, sweetcorn, potatoes and a side serving of salad.

If I feel peckish again I'll have an apple.

Syns: 11.5 (adding a few in case the potato was brushed with oil)

Yup, no sign of lentils in Ald1, asked someone & they said they don't sell them. I usually buy them in Home Bargains but they didn't have any either the last time I was there. I also looked in Tesc0 yesterday & couldn't find them ~ anyone know which aisle they would be in?! Who knew lentils could be so elusive!! :rotfl:

In our store they are in the world food aisle
