I have no winter clothes either and need to start stock piling items

Not a problem for me. I'm just under 13st at present and have clothes ready and waiting down to about 11st. I never throw anything away. It's great fun going through them to see what's starting to fit again. The ones that are too big now go in a charity bag and the ones that fit again go back in the wardrobe. I usually leave one item out that isn't quite a fit and take that as my next 'to get into' goal.

My final goal is a pair of pink jeans by Gloria Vanderbilt. I've always loved them.

It seems the uses for mushy peas are endless!!

I make my Bolognese much the same way mim, but I also add sliced peppers and mushrooms. I love it full of veg, could never go back to just plain meat and onions now. I generally make it with YS 5% mince and make a big SC full with a tin of toms and a box of passata.

Oh, I forgot. A couple of people have now commented on my weight loss (still really uncomfortable with anyone noticing!).

Well, I assume that the phrase "you're looking well" translates as "you're not as fat as when I saw you last" :rotfl:

Sometimes people just realise you look good and different but can't fathom why. I just used to smile and say thank you. Since I've been at target I'll happily tell anyone who wants to know about SW.:D

The rice pudding is lovely but I am still trying to tweak it to get a skin on it, no luck yet.

I was planning to mix pudding rice with almond milk, sweetener and a good shake of nutmeg on top then bake in the oven. How are you doing yours?

I'm not fussed about using sweetener although I know it bothers some people. I don't use it very often. I'm just finishing the tub of Canderel that I bought almost 4 years ago when I joined SW!!:rotfl:

Does anyone know the syn value of Mackies Haggis & Cracked Black Pepper crisps, please?? DH is bringing some home this weekend (not sure if large packet or individuals). Thank you :)

Website says 6.5 syns for 25g. That doesn't sound so bad unless you think that a 150g Family Bag would 39 syns!!!

    My EE plan for today:
B: NAS Ribena, HEB porage, HEA milk
L: got some LOs to use up, mostly SF and a few potatoes
D: sausage and mash, onions, carrots, cabbage, peas
Syns: 2 for sausages, gravy and squirt of syrup

    Morning everyone

Well the cooker is being disconnected as I type, the washing machine and sink are out (lying in the back garden actually!) and the fridge and freezer are sitting with the microwave and kettle in the hall:rotfl:

Once the gas engineer finishes DS2 and I are ripping out the coving, flooring and remaining wall tiles ....I'm just trying to think body magic, body magic and more body magic.....

Going to be two weeks until new kitchen is up and fully functioning so trying to stay focused and enthusiastic planning all the SW meals I'm going to fill my new super duper fridge freezer with.

Also promised DS2 a 'Desperate Dan' sized steak pie and potatoes:D

Meals are a bit of a nightmare, there's a few takeaways planned and eating with family so I'm prepared for a gain. Reading all your posts though and meal plans is keeping me encouraged and enthusiastic so thank you all!

    Take care x

Crabapple I'm still uncomfortable with people mentioning it 6.7 stone later. I think if your just that way your just that way it will never change.

I get it in work all the time, in my local shops, anywhere I go in fact..........................

Just say as little as possible and get away that is my advice!!

A tip I was given was to drain mince into sieve and then pour boiling water over, removes a suprising amount of extra fat.
I like to make gravy with a stockpot, free, and then thicken with a tin of mushy peas.

I'm cooking for the whole family and the only gravy they like is the oxo granules. Some members of the family don't like onions and they certainly wouldn't entertain mushy peas.

Can't use peppers as I've an intolerance to them, I sometimes add other root vegetables as well. The 5% mince is too expensive when cooking for a family of 5 adults. We had mushrooms separately as DD2 doesn't like them.

I use Stevia as a sweetener as it is natural. You can buy Tesco's own brand which is about half the price.

It's not the same as 'proper' rice pudding (ie with a skin on etc), but I make syn free rice pud by cooking pudding rice in no added sugar cream soda (no water or sweetner or anything required, just the pop and the rice). When it's done, move the pan from the heat and allow to cool slightly. Add a vanilla yoghurt and mix well. Serve sprinkled with chopped strawberries.

If you allow it to cool completely before you add the yogurt, you can make a syn free muller-rice type affair by using a flavoured yogurt.

I keep being drawn towards the wrong side of the track this week. This morning I was so desperate for cake, I went out and bought myself a scone.

    L. Uncle Bens Mushroom Rice, Chicken, LO Butternut Squash, Red Pepper, Tomatoes, all mixed up and zapped in microwave - yum!
