Well good news here. I shifted 0.5 lbs this week and got my 6.7 stone cert!!! Woo hoo.

I also got Woman of the year - well done to you Annie also!

I had a really really lovely night and knowing that I am an inspiration to some people is really lovely.

The whole thing struck a cord with me - and I thought sometimes I guess you've got to just concentrate on the positives in life - there may be lots of things going wrong but there is always something that is going right.

I'm submitting my entry for the District finals next week. Will keep you all posted.

Massive congratulations Lantanna and wishing loads of good wishes for the District finals. Congratulations to everyone else who received nominations. :T

The syns app for lake district one in lemon is 1 syn per 100g and the vanilla is 2 syn per 100g

Thanks meg. It wasn't vanilla btw it was plain :o Would you please mind sharing your recipe for lemon curd - DH is drooling at the thought of it. :rotfl: Intend to give the couscous cake a go too.

Well the chocolate brownie was a success Denise - it was a lot lighter in texture than I expected for brownie but was still more than acceptable. My SW buddy sampled it last night and she thought that it was a success too as did my sil. So it looks as though I will be taking it to tasting next week and decorate it with sweetened quark and raspberries to decorate. Mary Berry had better watch out :rotfl:

    Hugs beanie xx

Hope you all have a good weekend.

Oh dear another box ended up in my trolley yesterday - well it would have been rude to have left them especially when they were half price in Sainsbobs :p

:rotfl:love it - glad I missed them when I went to Sainsbobs yesterday otherwise I could have ended up with a load more. I can already hear the ones in the freezer calling me when I am watching tv at night!!

Nearly forgot 1lb off for me please this week Annie. Thanks

Everything I post in my daily menu's is everything I eat, I don't stray from them.

I have considered this but need to wait until children are back at school/Uni as food budget is quite expensive atm.

If you did EE but with more SFs and fewer carbs that might help and then you wouldn't need to buy too much meat.
Thanks meg. It wasn't vanilla btw it was plain :o

That's tough. What do you use the syns for? Is it all snacks?

I succumbed to crisps last night.:o DH needed a packed lunch yesterday (which is rare) so I bought some specially for that. I'd have been better off buying an exorbitantly priced single packet but my mse side wouldn't let me. So I got a multi pack. Probably about 8 syns worth! Fortunately I was very light on the wine syns last night but what a waste! I hope DH finishes them off PDQ.

This is the recipe I used but will reduce the sweetner next time I think

    syn free lemon curd

    3 heaped dessertspoons sweetener
Grated rind and juice of 1 lemon
    2 large eggs
    2oz fromage frais

In bowl suitable for standing over simmering pan place grated rind and sweetener.
In separate bowl whisk lemon juice and eggs together then pour into first bowl.
Place bowl over a pan of simmering water stirring until thickened
Add fromage frais whisking until smooth

Stores for 5 days in fridge

Still think its not enough super free but if budget is tight, something is better than nothing :D

Instead of lactose being the problem have you considered gluten/wheat intolerance? I have IBS and my Dr recommended the FODMAP diet [Google it]. I have now cut out gluten/wheat and am going through other things on the list to see what triggers an attack. Am much better now im gluten free, also my mouth has been much better and no more ulcers :D. Ulcers are another symptom of coeliac disease, might help to rule out by having the blood test too. Hope that helps.

Budget not tight, just don't have the energy to prepare much.

Have looked at the FODMAP and its similar to an elimination diet I did a couple of years ago. I ended up cutting out all foods from the Nightshade family ie. courgette, aubergine & bell peppers. I also went gluten free. The FODMAP idea seems to make sense, because eating lactose on its own is tolerable for a short time but it could be a build up of toxins over time plus I've been adding courgettes & peppers back into my diet. It looks like I'm going to have to start cutting things out again. I just hated having to have different from everybody else but if its making me ill I will have to do it. Also been eating much more fruit such as apples whereas before I just ate different types of berries and was fine with that.

I'm not an expert on Red but it looks fine to me (assuming you've got the syns right for gravy and stuffing). As you're doing Red though, you're allowed extra HEXs. So what about some toast with your boiled eggs? Or I like to do a swede/carrot mash and then bake it in the oven with grated cheese on top?
