  • Hi all, just want to ask a quick question, I'm at home 6 days a week with my toddler son and I can't seem to shift the stone I have put back on since his birth. I am thinking of joining slimming world to get me out of bad habits (bread cheese and chocolate fiend) but my only hold back is that I'm worried about being laughed out of the meeting. I'm 5 foot 3 and 9 stone, which I know isn't big by a long shot and I'm midway in bmi however my reason for wanting to go is to eat better rather than a quick snack of bread cheese and chocolate and to hopefully shift the stone that is sitting on my middle. What do you think?

I think they only refuse you if you have less than half a stone to lose, or it used to be that rule.

You could always give the consultant a ring first before going to class and see what she says.. they're usually quite friendly :D

I'm feeling proud today - i've been offered/tempted by Greggs for lunch then chips and i turned them both down!! :j

Like you Topgirl - i've no excuses and no choice, i have to lose this weight!!
    Mortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.

So I fell into a barbecue/takeaway/fruity cider/peanut pit of self pity for a few days.

What an excellent pit to fall into :rotfl:

It could have been much much worse

    Morning everyone
    Welcome newbies
    Welcome back Shala x
Great losses, well done to you all
You're not on the list Lilian but I can add you, the current challenge runs until the end of August, what would you like as your goal loss by the end of the challenge?
Woke up with terrible headache this morning so have done nothing this morning other than take house dog ( house sitting at the mo) for 40 min walk ( even the fresh air didn't help!)
    B - porridge with banana
L - salad with pouch of rice, fruit and yog
D - not sure as it's weigh night and I will be late back
    Snacks - fruit
    Syns - ?

Hoping for good loss tonight, want to lose the little holiday gain I had last week plus a bit more if I can. As I'm not at home I don't have my scales to check how I'm doing on, feels really weird!
Anyway I'll let you all know later

Certainly good advice at phoning the consultant if it makes you feel better not to walk in cold but you certainly won't be laughed at! being at home could make it easier to lose as you'll be in control of what you cook and what you eat. SW is definitely easier IMO when you're able to plan and cook from scratch than having to grab stuff when you're out and being tempted by cakes in the workplace etc. If you're still not sure why not take a look at the sample 7 day menu on the website and give that a try.

    Hi everyone

Wondered if I could join in please? I've been at SW for 10 weeks and lost 1.5 stone. I am really pleased as I only have 1.5lb to lose and then at maintain (which I'm hoping I will get tonight at WI).

I gave a random achievable weight as I wasn't sure what weight to give on first week at SW. I am at the top end of healthy in BMI index. Are most people aiming toward the middle or the low end? Just curious as I need to know whether to change my achievable weight.

I will be reading this thread with interest for inspiration and wish you all luck :)

I really wouldn't worry about it. If you're unhappy with your weight then that is all that matters.

As Maman says have a look at the sample menus on the SW website - there are examples of most of the plans on there and will give you an idea of what sort of things you can eat.

I also agree you could give the consultant a ring to chat beforehand.

  • Bought these thinking they'd be free since they are fat free but looking on the Internet it looks like they aren't. Does anyone know for sure?
I bought strawberry, and raspberry and cranberry flavours.

    Much obliged.
