Taking almost-4-year-old to a funeral/cremation?

It depends on the family I guess. When my grandfather died I was 15 and I had younger cousins (some aged 4) and it was decided that I would stay home with these cousins until the funeral party returned to the house (I think my pregnant aunt stayed home too to keep an eye on us all). Maybe this could be an option for the OP to leave their child with a family member and only let that child go to the wake?0

It's been and gone, and all of the adult family was at the crematorium/funeral but thanks for the suggestion.Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0
